  1. Adrian Gonzalez or Adam Dunn please.
  2. God awful is an overstatement. He is average and has been above average at various times in his career. Yes, Jeter is one of the greatest shortstops of all time. Longevity, consistency, production. Closing in on 3,000 hits. Easily in the Top 10. But I'll take Julio Lugo over him any day of the week.
  3. Only caught the last few innings, but the strike zone seemed to be all over the place.
  4. And you will probably hate Kennedy even more if he does well with the D-Backs.
  5. I don't think a700 is off the mark, in the context of what the expectations were for Dice-K and how much he is getting paid. Carlos Zambrano is one of the highest paid pitchers in all of baseball (he made $18.7 mill last year), and yet he hasn't pitched like an ace since 2006. At best now, he is a #2. Barry Zito has been about league average since joining the Giants. Given how much he makes, it would also be fair to say he stinks.
  6. Just one, I think.
  7. The stats don't back you up.
  8. Player A: .308/.370/.457 for an OPS of .827, 47 SBs (11 CS) through 3 full seasons Player B: .307/.339/.480 for an OPS of .819, 17 SBs (21 CS) through 5 full seasons No comparison... whatever.
  9. I wouldn't say it's so cut and dry between Pedroia and Cano. They both hit for a high average. Cano has a little more power. However, Pedroia gets on base a lot more and can swipe 20 bags. Pedroia is the more refined and complete player, offensively and defensively.
  10. Wow, I just looked at the box score. Zoubek had 6 offensive rebounds. Zoubek = unsung hero
  11. Pretty exciting game. Significantly better than last year's snoozefest.
  12. I'm not sure when exactly Heyward was added on Yahoo, but it couldn't have been more than a few days ago. Could have even been last night, as you say. I got very lucky, and now I have more quality OFs than I know what to do with.
  13. Do you mean pitching matchup? If so, I'd have to go with Greinke and Verlander.
  14. I like how Bruney grew a beard as soon as he left the Yankees. Damon should go back to his Jesus look.
  15. Because the Guardians have so many better options to start Opening Day... Carmona has stunk the last 2 seasons. He looked good this Spring. We'll see if it carries over into the season.
  16. Now through 6.
  17. Wow, Buehrle just made a sensational play, especially for a pitcher. Gold Glover, indeed.
  18. Shaun Marcum has a no-no through 5.
  19. Wow, I can't believe Jason Heyward slipped through the cracks to me. And I had the last waiver priority. I'd like one more good SP, and I'd be willing to part with one of these OFs: Heyward, Coghlan, Quentin.
  20. V-Mart and Posada both had defensive lapses last night. Posada's passed ball was costly, as was V-Mart's ill-advised and inaccurate throw on the double steal. Hard to give an edge to either one of them defensively, as they're both just mediocre.
  21. I thought Joba looked terrible. Gardner's throw to home was pretty funny.
  22. I guess this means Jason Campbell is now the best backup QB out there.
  23. He sounded pissed. "I think it's messed up," Cust told the Chronicle. "They're going to go on 50 at-bats after three years of what I've done here? It's ridiculous. A lot of other guys have had bad springs. This is a joke. "The fact is, this team has no power and they've just released a guy who (averaged 28 homers) the last three years. That's amazing." I think first chance he gets, he's signing with another team.
  24. Having Scutaro at the bottom of the order instead of Green is going to make a big difference, IMO.
