  1. And just to add one more thing on this, if Weaver plunks Manny, its an automatic ejection, Weaver would be gone and LAA has to use the BP for 4 innings. It would have been a very dumb move.
  2. GOM I DO PLAY THE GAME... I thought I made that clear in my post. Lets get this s*** sorted now, this is not the battle field, this is a childs GAME. So stop acting like this is the most dishonerable thing a player can do. Theres someone on everyones team who at some point who admired a HR, got pumped over a big K or what have you. This is so typical for these types of messages boards, lets take something and completely blow it out of the water and act like it was the biggest dis we have ever seen. oooooo damn no he didn't. He watched a HR for an extra 5 seconds people, this is so not a big deal and we shouldn't even waste our time discussing something so trivial. We should be talking about the nice race for the AL East we have going for the stretch run, but no, we have to talk about someone admiring a grand slam. I remember when AROD hit a HR against the Sox and he was standing at the plate acting like he didn't know where the ball was, he knew damn well he hit it out but he was acting it up, I didn't get mad, it wasn't Bush League, everyone is so quick to call things Bush this yr, it's like the new taboo or something. We might as well go around saying "thats hot". If anything it adds to the entertainment value. Gom you watch Football? Is it Bush when someone celebrates a TD? Or when someone celebrates a 1st down or a sack? Not its not it entertains the fans. And just incase it didn't sink in the 1st two times( im not trying to pick a fight with you Gom, your a good poster and one of the only Yankee fans I like to read) I do play baseball, I am a Pitcher, and if someone hit a GS off of me and looked at it for an extra 5 seconds I would not care, infact I would make it a point not to leave fat fastballs to that person in the future, I would not put a pitch in the ear of the next guy and put my team at a greater disadvantage. Yes there are times to plunk the opposing team, but not after "I" give up a HR.
  3. His change is filthy, he threw it the Gary JR 3 times in a row and he looked like a fool all 3 times. If you can make a major league hitter look that dumb then your doing something right. His fastball sat around 91-92 MPH and when needed he pumped it up to 94-95. His change and curve are his best pitches I think.
  4. And you would have been ejected and unable to contribute for the rest of the game... Boooo Fing whooooo, you don't want someone to linger after a HR, don't throw a fat fastball over the middle of the plate. I pitch and if someone hits a HR off of me the can dance the jig if they want, they beat me and thats all there is to it. Stop taking s*** so personally and try to get the next batter.
  5. I Live in Europe, and get no Celtic games:( When I was growing up in Maine tho I followed every game. Then I moved to FL and they didn't really cover the C's unless they were in Miami or Orlando. But I always looked for then in Sportcenter, Standings, trade talks, Draft day stuff. Have I follwed them like I use to? No, but I do consider myself a fan, But not in the class of you guys, I have alot to earn there.
  6. Good pitching match up tonight. Lets go Sox!
  7. Thats a sweet BP. We haven't ( atleast as of now I haven't heard anything) upgraded the lineup, but we might have enough there. Now with a good starting rotation and a sweet BP we should beable to make our way nicely down the stretch run.
  8. Last updated: 3:41 p.m. Sox have Gagne deal Eric Gagne has reportedly agreed to come to the Red Sox and be the setup man, according to NESN's Tom Caron. The Sox would send outfield prospects David Murphy and Engel Beltre, along with pitcher Kason Gabbard, to Texas, according to NESN.
  9. ESPN Radio just reported deal is all but done for Dye, WMP and MDC go to CWS.
  10. Its probably Carpenter, they have to wait until hes healthy to announce, LOL
  11. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070731&content_id=2119824&vkey=trade2007&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb Maybe no MDC after all.
  12. Cool atleast we get something for him. I knew a National league team would take a flyer on him.
  13. CWS are in NY, so if a deal is made he could be available for tonights game, at latest tomorrow, of course all depends on deal going threw.
  14. On the Herd on ESPN Colin reported that Buster Olney says Gagne is going to Sox or Brewers.

  16. In Tuesday's edition of the Chicago Sun-Times, Toni Ginnetti writes: "Sources said Monday that the Red Sox -- who sought left-hander Mark Buehrle a month ago before he and the White Sox had a change of heart on a contract extension -- are set to send reliever Manny Delcarmen and outfielder Wily Mo Pena to the White Sox for Dye, the 2005 World Series MVP. A deal with the Red Sox would be contingent on Dye waiving a no-trade clause. Major-league sources have informed Dye that the Red Sox can play him five days a week, rotating him in the two outfield corner spots and at first base. White Sox general manager Ken Williams had hoped to deal for top minor-league prospects to help the team's rebuilding plans and free payroll for other acquisitions. But the proposed deal at least would bring a promising reliever in Delcarmen, 25, who has a 2.70 ERA and one save this season. Not sure how true it is, but there it is. If we are getting Gagne to replace MDC then I guess, but I'd rather not see MDC leave. Hes been good.
  17. Sam Cassell would be a great PG for this team. He would be an asst. machine, good D and his scoring would be a bonus.
  18. You mean you like the deal if you bending the other team over a barrel and making them grab there knees like usual? Why not deal Proctor off? Hes been used a ton with avg success and his arm will probably fall off come september and be useless anyway.
  19. Jacko, the draft picks are based on the latest 2 seasons I believe. He is a type A and will net 1/1s or 2 1/s drat picks. He is very valuable draft pick wise.
  20. This isn't a horrible move for the future. Telfair is nothing special, Jefferson looks like he could be a hi quality player but is still unknown. All the others are mix and match players. No one of real value or big upside. Ya the 2 1st rounders will hurt our young crop, all this means is for the next couple yrs the C's will fill there voids via FA instead of the draft. This makes the C's relevant again, and I think Bill Simmons hit the nail on the head, all 3 of these guys want to win. If we didn't do something soon Pierce was going to waste away right infront of us having been a great player that never got a chance to win a title, Pierce then would have left town via Ray Bourque( sorry for spelling, been awhile since I typed that name), and we might have had to endure watching another one of our teams great win a championship somewhere else.
  21. This makes the C's the favorite from the east shouldn't it?

  24. I'd go for Masterson and WMP. Masterson isn't a top tier talent like Lester/Buchholz/Bowden. This a move that doesn't send our best prospects off, and helps us for a Championship run this season without comprimising the future of the team. Plus Dye is worth 1/1s or 2 1s if they offer him arbitration and he denies, which he would most likely do.
  25. Last updated: 07/30 Dye's price too high for now A major league source told the Globe's Gordon Edes on Monday that the price tag remained too high on a deal that would bring Jermaine Dye to Boston: "Remember, these situations are fluid, but while the White Sox remain hopeful of persuading the Sox to make a deal for outfielder Jermaine Dye, the price remains too high for Boston. Chicago would take Wily Mo Pena but want either Manny Delcarmen or Justin Masterson. The Red Sox will not part with either for a rent-a-player like Dye, who is eligible for free agency after the season. There is a decent chance that the Red Sox will not make a substantive deal before tomorrow's 4 p.m. deadline, but stay tuned."
