  1. I gotta wonder if he feels more comfortable pitching out of the stretch than the wind-up. He at least seems to have more control when he has men on base.
  2. Dice's stats are insane. Opponents hitting .210 off him, solid ERA, if he could cut down on his walks, he'd be damn near unhittable. I'll give him one more year to adjust to everything MLB before I seriously critique him.
  3. With how spotty Dice has been this year with his good stuff, it's surprising he's 14-2. If there is one thing he does well though, he buckles down with men on base. The great pitchers of the last 20+ years have done that well, Clemens, Maddux, etc.
  4. Tek with a solo poke to right, 5-0.
  5. Two straight solid pitching efforts is very good to see, the bats will come alive as everybody starts to get comfortable again and get back into the swing of things, no pun intended.
  6. 'Tis a done deal basically, $275M for 10 years with incentives based if Alex breaks the HR Record in a Yankee uniform.
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3090231 I love that my hometown team can put some humor into this situation. The Mud Hens are also going to put into their programs for this coming year that A-Rod declined the deal because the terms were too steep, and that he wanted a shot in the bigs. Great stuff.
  8. Take it for what it's worth...but I really hope this isn't true. Buchholz is gonna be something special, and although a 1-2 combo of Beckett and Santana would be lethal, I don't think we should give up on our legit #1 pitching prospect for Johan. Thoughts?
  9. ESPNEWS confirms the deal. Tigers got their SS and the Braves got more pitching.
  10. Came across on Detroit radio, haven't seen any AP confirmation, may be premature but it sounded legit and a done deal. Wouldn't be surprised to see Renteria tank it in the AL again.
  11. Thank you for providing us fans with great baseball all year and to take our minds away from life's everyday problems. Thank you for being such class acts all season, and for not packing it in again, just like in 2004, in the ALCS. You guys were always business like all season when it mattered the most. Thank you for giving us fans who cannot be at Fenway always a great showing on the road. I will never forget the only game I got to see this year in Cleveland w/ Lester's first start. Thank you Manny Ramirez for making us all laugh and subsequently leading the Sox on a 7-game winning streak. Now the pundits can't criticize you anymore, there's 2 WS rings in your ears now, big man. And finally, thank you to the FO for yielding a competitive team yet again. We are set for the future and hopefully we will see many more games in late October. This will never get old.
  12. Bottom of the order is again worthless. None of them have any confidence in themselves, it just glares.
  13. Coco's worthless right now...what are you looking at!?
