  1. Taking 2/3 would be great since we are throwing the more inept part of our rotation. Lets go Sox!
  2. Not sure how I feel about this. I like AROD, hes a great player but that much money? I'm not sure. One side of the argument is, Losing Schilling, Lowell, Hinske, Clement is about 35M off the books right there. They can fill in the rotation spot with a cheap veteran or with Lester/Buchholz(also very cheap) That means the SP rotation(if they stay healthy) is set for the next 3 or 4 seasons, maybe longer. Youk,Pedroia, Lugo, Drew Crisp, Ellsbury, Papelbon,Okijihma,Delcarmen, Papi are all signed long term( 3+ yrs). So in all honesty theres not alot we have to replace over the next few yrs except the typical crap we throw together in the BP and bench players. Add in the fact that if we get AROD this means Manny will be traded or they will kepp him for next season and most likely no pich up his options. So theres another 20M gone after next season. In theory, they could decline manny's options and sign him to a new deal possibly for less, but who knows. So money wise the Sox could sign AROD and only go up in payroll by 5%( i think thats what the article said). So it's not out of the realm of possibility.
  3. Seems like it happens alot...
  4. Hinske, Dougie, Lugo do up? JD has to be a pinch hitter for one of them.
  5. They just can't string any hits together... Come on Boys!
  6. Anyone else notice Beckett's velocity is down?
  7. Beckett's putting in a QS, we need to get him some runs.
  8. There not even working the count on this guy... They need to get him to throw more.
  9. Nice dig by Youk... Cora had a nice play too but horrible throw...
  10. Another no name pitcher turning in a solid performance...
  11. Thats JT's 4th bad start in a row. It might be time to start looking for alternative ideas. whether it be Lester, Buchholz, or Gabbard(leave him in rotation if/when Schilling gets back. Or maybe they make a move for someone. I don't see this since there isn't much on the market.
  12. Lugo is heating up, hes showing signs of life, so lets see what happens.
  13. Delcarmen has been nice since coming up. It's just like a hitter, you have to ride the hot one until he bucks. I say the trade/DFA Pinerio. There might be some National league team desperate for BP help may take a flier on him. Maybe we eat some of his salry. Don't expect to get anything in return tho. This is more or less making a spot on the roster move. Delcarmen is pitching good right now, Pinerio and Donnely are questions at this point.
  14. I would let him buy the Cubbies. But I don't think the owners will let him.
  15. Cuban applied to MLB to buy the Chicago Cubs( via ESPN radio, ESPN.com). Thoughts?:dunno: I'm for it, I like Cuban...
  16. Arod- How small did your balls get? Bonds- About that big, and my nipples get so tender now. Arod- hmmmmmmm.
  17. Papi isn't see any pitches now. The whole point of my idea would really be to get Manny's bat going. Then maybe switch them back later on.
  18. I wonder if it would pay off switching Manny and Papi in the lineup. If Papi is hitting behind Manny, he is likely to see better pitches and maybe he can get into a nice hitting groove. Just a thought.
  19. Knock Halladay around early and get into the BP. Let's go Sox!
  20. Question, I know that this is Jeters team. BUt if they bring AROD for that kind of money what does it say to Jeter? With the Yankees trying to get younger, will these younger players who were never on the champioship teams, will they look at the Yankees as AROD's team? This is Jeter's team based on what he did in the late 90's, that was a while ago, its just a thought i'd like to get some feedback from Yankees fans about.
  21. Beckett pitched and inning in the AS game. And Matsuzaka started the last game before the AS break.
