  1. Clemens is first name out... BTW I'm not shocked by his name being on it, theres not many players that would.
  2. Via Mike and Mike, Clemens busted...
  3. Hughes-Buccholz= Draw at this point in time... Chamberlin- Great RP outtings last yr, lets see him as a SP 1st= ?(could end up being like Papelbon) Lester-Kennedy= Lester has been wilder, but had success, and won a cliching WS game= Lester. Delcarmen- Looks to be a solid set up guy. Everyone else has little to no experience in the ML, so lets just see what they bring when given the chance.
  4. http://www.denverpost.com/sports/ci_7677694 I know its a ways off, but it would be interesting if the Sox decide not to pick up Manny's option or he won't come back for less money. And at the same time Holliday might become available. I love the Manny don't get me wrong, but if Holliday has another big year thhis yr and prooves he can hit outside of COL. He would be a pretty nice option for LF.
  5. hahaha whoops ment Humber...
  6. Sox- Reyes,Pelfrey Mets- Santana, Lugo Twins- Coco,Lowrie,Masterson/Bowden,Pelfrey,Gomez Everyone makes out on a trade like this... Sox get a electric young SS with big upside+ a solid MRP. Mets get Santana and a solid SS. Twins get a huge package of prospects and a solid CF.
  7. if the Sox got someone in the deal they wanted, I could see them helping a team get Santana. Especially if it gets him out of the AL and off the Yankees roster.
  8. Actually if anything the sox would be getting the light end of the deal, (deal mention previously) They would be trading Coco,Lugo,Lowrie,Masterson/Bowden for Reyes. i think they would probably want something else in the deal. From Minny stand point, a package of Coco,Gomez,Humber/Pelfrey/both, Masterson/Bowden/both is probably the best deal yet. NYM down grade at SS, but they recieve the best LH SP in the game. I don't see Lester in a deal like that, because we wouldn't be getting a SP back in the deal.
  9. Did I miss something or is this a joke like the thread that was a joke?
  10. Sounds like something creative. It would depends on who we would ship out. I'll make a guess at the deal.... Minny gets, Coco,Lowrie,Masterson,Humber/Pelfrey,Masterson/Bowden(maybe both), Gomez. Sox get, Reyes, + a RP or prospect NYM get, Santana, Lugo I think everyone would make out pretty well on a deal that looks like this or some variation of it Just a guess guys...
  11. oooo I see said the blind man...
  12. i thought we only got supp pick for Gagne because hes a B FA?
  13. Coco probably will be traded. Theo will ship him in the deal to Minny for santana or some team will get desperate for a CF down the line and will offer Theo a nice return.
  14. Even if we don't get Santana, this is a win for the Sox by keeping him out of NY so far. But he could always end up there, since Hanky poo is all ready starting to back off his deadline. This guy is going to be the laughing stock of the league soon....
  15. I think he has a shot to end up back in Texas.
  16. But Cashman went out and got Igawa, knowing he was a soft tossing LHP...
  17. Any Bedard trade including the Sox i think would be a 3 team deal...
  18. Angelos is the worst owner. He knows nothing about baseball. I agree with him that you don't want to trade within the division, but if the man had any baseball sense he would shut up, and let the guy he hired do his job and get the best deal possible.
  19. Kazmir would bring alot more back in a trad, especially if it included Rocco........
  20. I'm to the point on this trade to where I don't care wherehe goes, just trade him already LOL If we get him great, if not, I think our team is good enough to contend next yr with a tweak here and there...
  21. Beckett Won't Ask For Restructured Deal Remember when Josh Beckett signed his three-year, $30MM extension on July 16th of 2006? At the time of the signing, Beckett's Boston career consisted of 114 innings of a 5.12 ERA. Many considered the extension questionable. A year and a half later, Beckett's extension is a huge bargain. He could easily get the same amount over two seasons. There had been some concern that the Red Sox might trade for Johan Santana and pay him upward of $20MM per year, perturbing Beckett. Rob Bradford was able to contact the gruff Beckett last night, and his salary doesn't seem to be a concern. Beckett knows plenty of pitchers had worse years in 2007 and made more money (Mike Mussina, for example). He'll get paid in line with his work starting with the 2010 season.
  22. • The Cubs are considered the favorite for top Japanese League outfielder Hiroki Fukudome. But the Red Sox could be an interesting possibility, as well. Got it from SI... Where would he play?
  23. For some reason I thought they offered him 4 yrs 80M. I could be wrong tho... Zito got 7yrs/126M, Starting the negotiations around 5 yrs 100M doesn't seem to bad. I think they will settle in between somewhere, thats if the trade happens...
  24. If Minny is worried over how much stronger there division is getting, then Santana should never have been placed on the market. The fact that they did place him on the block should indicate they don't have much thought of chasing a WS title this yr or the coming yrs. As far as there being no CF in the trade, I doubt it very much. But they did just aquire Young and Caddyer's not too shaby in the field, so maybe they go with one of the two. If this deal gets done then so be it, if it doesn't lets kill it soon and move on, my refresh button is wearing out, andI think I'm getting arthritis in my finger joints from all this typing LOL
