Glad to see mIke back. The deal isnt that bad really. I don't expect him to put up the numbers he had every year over the contract, but I think he will produce good enough for those 3 yrs...

MC, Atkins, Blaylock, Laroche, Tejada, Beltre, Crede or Fields... Just some names that have een put out there as possibly available.

I won't say Arod is on something, hes one of two players in the league, the other being Vlad, that I would be absolutely shockedif he was. Arod a great player plain and simple. If you like him or not. He has some issues but who doesnt. We hate on him more then normak cause hes a Yank.

Horse s***, you don't let a player walk over 21M and then give him 300M. They both gave into some pont, alot of us said it was funny Arod left, but if you go back and check we also said there was a chance he would still be a Yankee come next season.

What does everyone think it will cst to get Sanatana? Lets seem some thinking here, Coco,Buccholz,Masterson,Hansen/mid level prospect is my deal. And it only goes if we have Santana inked to a new deal. If its more then that I would be kind of reluctant, but whats everyone elses deal? Feel free to plug in other names or use more then 4 players going back the other way.

Ellsbury is the starting CF here for the future. If coco is traded then it will show that this is the case. So any trades involving him I doubt get done. Buccholz is the teams pride enjoy as far as pitchers go. I think the FO is prowd of how they groomed him and how hes turned out. I find it hard to believe they would trade him. For either of these two the deal has to be a huge blockbuster, I mean big... I don't see either one getting traded unless its for Santana and they have him inked to an extension...

Jacko I've suggested if Lowell and Arod are signed is they wait. Wait until one of the LA teams deal for Cabrera. If LAA does, maybe they can trade for Wood. And if LAA does maybe Laroche would become available. Just ideas, nothin to back them up. We also have discussed a trade with OAK for D. Johnson and maybe one of there SP if there available. Tejada will be a salary dump for the most part, they will want talent back but unless they eat a huge portion of the remaining contract the Sox will not deal one of the studs of the farm system.

Maybe 1 of them, but I still think the Sox have enough talent to deal without dealing either.

Yes but you have to remember that FL won and got what they wanted too. The got to uload Mike Lowell's salary and send off the soon to be very expensive Josh Beckett. And they got probably the top SS in the league and all around one of the best players for X amount of cost controlled years. Both teams got exactly what they wanted. It migh be the most even trade of all time... -
I like the way there doing it now. Rumor is if the Yanks sign Arod they will still go after Lowell to play 1B and obviously take him away form oston a la Damon. If this happens tho we get the Yanks 28th overall pick.

And Boras also said it would take 100M to sign Dice-K, and that was just his salary and not including the bid. Boras always throws out insane numbers just to see if someone will bite. Thats what he did with Tom Hicks, they threw out a ridiculous number that they probably thought had no chance of happening and Hicks dumass did it. So he just tried it agian is all...

Ya but every time we get out bid, it doesn't usually work out well for the Yanks(Pavano,Damon,Contrares,Clemens, ect).

If your the #1 story in the Hot Stove season its not for a good reason. It's because your trying to fill all the holes that held your team back mostly, or your a low budget team that has to sell of your best player. Personally I'll take the WS title with few holes to fill. Besides the great deals the Sox usually do are the ones no one really hears about( Schilling, Beckkett, Lowell) and happens quickly and usually over Thanksgiving...

MC if it doesn't cost Buccholz/Ellsbury. That being said and not likely to happen. So heres my option, wait for one of the LA teams to unload prospects for MC. Then the team getting MC will be set at 3B. If its LAD then try and trade for Laroche, if its LAA then maye Wood. After that I like Kilo's idea of going to Oak and trying to get D. Johnson and Haren/Blanton. Move Youk to 3B and play Johnson at 1B while getting another SP.
