  1. Sorry Ksush, thats funny.
  2. Mannys contract isnt considered out rageous anymore. If he can play 130 games hit .290 25+hr and 90+ rbi I imagine they pick up his options, or just sign him to an extension.
  3. If Hamilton stays healthy and clean he could be a nice player to build around. Playing in Texas he could be a 30HR guy easy.
  4. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3165275 He had a good season even tho it was slowed by injuries. If he stays healthy he could really blossom in Texas. Also, the Reds got a pretty decent pitcher back from looking at his stats last season. 2 players for a guy taken in the rule 5 draft last season isn't to bad of an investment. I know Cincy redid there coaching staff, is the guy that helped Hamilton back to the Majors still apart of that staff? Or is he somewhere else now?
  5. Curt may be alot of things but atleast hes consistant...

    Prior

If thats what Hank says then I imagine they will sign him to atleast a 3 yr deal...
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3163167 3 yrs 29M is not a bad deal at all.
  8. Awesome recall! Makes a great point too:thumbsup:
  9. So be it. Let there FO gouge the farm system. Oak has shown they will take quanity over quality, maybe the sox should offer a few prospects to Oak for Blanton. it probably wouldnt cost Lester,Buccholz, or Ellsbury to get him. It wouldn't hit the Payroll too bad either. I know hes no Santana, but we already have an Ace. Blanton would be a great #3 starter and reall solidify this rotation.

  11. None. My post was more of a hypothetical. I'm fine with Lugo at SS.
  12. Lugo+Hansen+low-mid level prospect would be good for Ocab. Coco i think is going to be part of a bigger deal or maybe a deal that brings in a young C.
  13. LOL good way of putting it.
  14. Thats why alot of us on here think they should pass on him.

Cause that was about the Cubs possibly trading him. Now hes a FA...LOL
  16. If they can get a good deal, I think the Sox should get Prior for a 2 yr deal and stick him in AA or AAA and see what happens with him. CHC have a history of crushing young pitchers. A change of scenary and philosophy, plus someone from the Sox helping his mechanics could end up with a big reward. He shouldn't cost that much $ or a draft pick I think. Just an idea to add some depth. If he stays healthy( ), he could help come September.
  17. This deal is getting out of hand. I say Theo walks from it now. Buccholz+Ellsbury+ 2,3 more prospects+ 140M minimum is way too much for Santana. I realize he is a dominant pitcher, but thats just too much. Let the Yanks overpay for him. I think we will be better of keeping the pieces Minny wants, and putting the 140M to use elsewhere. I know of a few decent arms that are available next season. I mean we won this yr, with a dominant Beckett, a shaky Dice K and Schill, a recovering Lester, an injured Wake, a legally insane JT, and a young up and comer in Buccholz. We don't need Santana, we don't want to see him go to NY, but hey not everything is perfect. I think we could get better value elsewhere. Not really sure who tho. Bedard be great, but it will be tuff to get him. Maybe a 3rd team gets involved. Thinking outside the box here, we could turn to SF for one of there young arms. I kn ow SF said there not trading them but they also mentioned a youth movement and then signed a 30 yr old Rowand to a 5 yr deal... They have no hitting prospects in there farm system. If we package up 3 good hitting prospects maybe we could get Cain. Cain's numbers weren't great this season but hes going to be a good pitcher. Moss/Carter/Lowrie/Hansen might be a good package. Just trying to think of something besides Santana. Even Blanton in Oak should be considered.
  18. 30 is a youth movement for the Giants.
  19. Canseco on Mitchell report: Where's A-Rod? FOXSports.com Posted: 1 hour ago Jose Canseco couldn't get into the Mitchell Report press conference, but he was making the rounds on TV afterward. And his biggest point of contention? "All I can say is the Mitchell Report is incomplete ... I could not believe that (A-Rod's) name was not in the report." Take it for what you will, but the guy deserves a little credit. He's been spot on, even if he's selling everyone out and trying to be in the spotlight.
  20. If this is true, I don't see Theo giving up a big package of prospects if he has to pay 140M minimum to ink Santana. I think this coming out hurts the Twins negotiating power.
  21. Don't care, looks like Pitchers and hitters where on roids, so seems like the game was pretty even...LOL I've said all along Vlad is about the only name I be surprised if he was on something...
  22. Pettite on list as well...
