  1. Most everyone just posts about the pats here, I think I wrote on it once...LOL
  2. Exactly... Plus if they fall short of Hanky's expectations, Cashman won't be around to block at a big contract offer.
  3. I think there is a good chance Tex signs a long term deal in ATL. But if he is available I imagine the Yanks be in on him.
  4. Good question... Call them the "Scrap heap", so if you team gets a player from them, they literally get them from the " Scrap heap" Or, The team of misfit players( the island of misfit toys referance,( rudolph xmas movie)) The Junkers, one yr wonders, clingons, thats all I got for now LOL
  5. The only good thing about Nixon coming back would be if he gave JD "Trots magical sports drink" to beef him up... I joke I joke...
  6. With Lowell a year older they might want to try and keep him fresh. Casey could see a descent amount of time replacing Youk when he needs a day off, or when Youk plays 3B for Lowell.
  7. They should just make a team of FA every yr and plug them into a division LOL Maybe change it every yr. Everyone gets 1 yr contracts. Make a 25 man roster out of the remaining FA and they can't be any worse then the Royals or Pirates LOL For fun heres mine, C Miller 1B Minky 2B Graffanino SS Perez 3B Branyan OF Wilson,Lofton,Stewart SP Colon,Garcia,Fogg,Hernandez,Lohse RP 6 out of the 9, no particular order DH Bonds Sanders,Patterson,Hinske, Cirillo, Clayton on bench. They would atleast be entertaining to watch LOL.
  8. Yes but as I said i see the Yanks going after him, I don't see the Sox having alot of interest. They will most likely kick the tires tho. I myself have a vague interest. He's def a physical risk. Anyone that big is. I think hes more of a 1B SP, rather the a 1A(Beckett,Santana,Carpenter,Oswalt). But i'm guessing the price will be a bit hi for the Sox.
  9. It was about this time last yr when Johan started being talked heavily. Big dominant LHP getting ready for the open market. So why not start discussing and hypothosizing where CC might end up. I think with Johans new deal there is very little chance he resign with the Tribe. I think the Yanks will make a big splash at him. They have alot coming off the books and will be ready to spend. Especially not after getting the big guy this off season. Hank will be wanting some attention. And this time around he won't have to give up Hughes and may not have to fight Cashman over Money issues( hint, hint, if Yanks don't win WS or the Sox finish ahead of them, I don't see Cashman getting extended). The Yanks will be opening there stadium and will be looking for that big name starter to anchor the rotation. As a Sox fan, I never like to see the Yanks get stronger. But seems how we smacked CC around during the PO, I won't fret too much about it. Anyone else have thoughts?
  10. I expect the Yanks to throw an offer to CC if he become available. Giambi,Mussina, Abreu and some others will be off there books. They will be ready to throw some cash at someone. Especially is they have a bad season, or there rotation sucks.
  11. Youk needs someone to spare him every few games so he doesn't disappear in the 2nd half. Coco will need to stick around and pinch run for Casey because he is exteremely sloth like...
  12. Another thought... His Avg salary for the duration of the contract is like 21.6M. Thats only 1.6M more a yr the Minny was offering. I know this contract is longer and he has more security with this deal also. It just seems if they were that close on money and just off on years, the you'd think if Sanatana wanted to stay he would have. a comprimise of maybe 5 yrs with 2 vesting option or something.
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3226412 7 yrs? Wow thats a big risk. I'm glad Theo passed...
  14. May not be word for word, but it's possible...
  15. Carter needs to show improvement on his fielding before he will see time with the Sox. Or maybe they intend on trading him. -Casey will have a decent bat and good glove off the bench. -I guess this means the experiment with Moss at 1B didn't go so well. - Having Casey play for Youk every 5 games or whatever, will help Youk make it threw the long season. Maybe he won't drop off so much like he has the last couple seasons.
  16. If he is produces like last yr, then hits in OCT then thats fine by me as well.
  17. .292/.380/.465 in 420 AB's 14-18 HR 88 RBI I think what Lowell loses of his stats from last season, JD will pick up for the most part.
  18. The great thing for the Mets is that Santanna at 85% in the NL is still probably a 17 game winner. I mention this because I've always said that signing Johan to a 6/7 yr deal is risky. I can see him holding strong in the NL. If he was pitching for the Sox or Yanks, I think the toll on him would show faster.
  19. SB XXVII, Buffalo had 5 fumbles, thats the best I can think of LOL
  20. Fair enough...LOL
  21. Reading around the usual sites, and came across an article saying Lowry from SF is being shopped. Any thoughts? Anyone see any Red Sox interest? I figured this might help get the BS flowing in this thread:thumbsup:
  22. Hey guys, as most of you know I'm in Europe. Does anyone know of a site I could watch the Winter X games online? My Sports network that shows North American sports isn't carrying it. I get reg. season college Basketball instead....
  23. I know this is all speculation. But I would be willing to be if Towers called Theo or vice versa they would both be willing to talk about it.
