  1. Is there anyway to watch the announcemnet? MLB.com? I'm listning to Tirco and Van Pelt, and they said the announcement is coming up, not sure if they will announce it right away tho.
  2. Well shoot, that dog won't hunt..... When trying to further explain your point, you shouldn't contradict(http://http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/contradict) yourself. you stated that Pedroia was the only clutch hitter, but in your very next post, you claim there a 3 players that can hit everyday. I'm having trouble seeing your hill-billy logic:dunno:
  3. Ok gotcha, makes alot of sense.
  4. We have been getting alot of these here lately. We need some sort of filter....
  5. :wtf: Really?:dunno: I guess the rest of the team is a bunch of incompetent fools who don't know their *******s from holes in the ground.....
  6. I think Pedroia has the edge. But him and youk are going to split votes. Leaves room for Morneau to jump up there.
  7. http://http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/1285443,ryan-dempster-cubs-contract-re-sign-111808.article Says it's a done deal at 4 yrs 52M.
  8. BSN07

    NL MVP

Pujols had a great year congrats to him.
  9. Lugo has little value. Let's not kid ourselves. His decline in the field and batters box isn't going to be helped by his leg injury. Throw in the fact he's 33, if you can find someone to take him for anything of relevance, should be a no brainer. I think Masterson holds more value in the pen at the moment with his lack of a 3rd pitch. Unless MDC takes control of that spot in the BP, or Bard comes in and really impress's early on, Masterson won't be in the starting rotation.
  10. Willis has been working on a modified delivery. If he can return to hos old form or close, he has a chance to be very servicable. And Robertson with work can be a 4.5ish ERA guy. That be fine from the #5 spot. Farrell is very good pitching coach. He could really help this guys out and they could have a fair shot at cracking the rotation. Willis could start in AAA if need be tho.
  11. Ya but Lowe was no gem in 05 for most the season. Playoffs not included. Might all be a wash anyway if the rumors of Lugo for Robertson/Willis are true.
  12. It will be either or if everyone is heslthy and ready to pitch. Neither Lowe or Penny is going to sign anywhere where there not guranteed a rotation spot. Especially Lowe, it would be utterly moronic to do so. Penny maybe, but from what i've heard he should be ready to go come ST, so hes gonna wanna pitch for someone. Penny will get something like a 1 or 2 year deal at around 8-10M a year. I believe he made something in the area of 8.5M this season. Lowe is going to require 3 years atleast and 15M a season. But he has proven to pitch well in Boston for the most part. And his sinker would go well with the IF D. I lean more towards Penny then Lowe. Penny is easily capable of getting 15-18 wins if healthy. That is superb production from the #5 spot in the rotation. Although Lowe has proven to pitch well in Boston for the most part. And his sinker would go well with the IF D.
  13. Well for one, Peavy's deal is low money in the front, but explodes the season after next and every year after that. There also have been rumors that for him to go to the AL, he wants his current deal ripped up and a new one similar to what CC will get and what Johan has already got. So that blows your $ saving theory. Melky and Kennedy? And I thought I was high most them time. Kennedy has very little value. The only reason he might have some kind of value is because it is a NL team involved. Melky as the CF center piece? I love you optomism Gom:D A deal to get Peavy is going to cost, Hughes, Jackson + 2 or more mid level prospects atleast. Kennedy might be part of the deal, but he won't be the main Pitcher heading back to SD in any deal. SD wanted ATL's top pitching prospect. Your nuts if you think they will settle for Kennedy. If somehow a deal like that does happen. It will further my belief that Cashman has dirt on every single GM in baseball on some micro film, and uses it wisely to get players he wants for next to nothing:D
  14. Considering Lowe's reputation for being an all night ass chaser. I'm not sure I would want him mentoring a young Masterson. Give him tips on the sinker, but nothing else thank you. In any case, Lowe is going to have to except a discount to playin Boston. And I'm not sure Boras is going to be thrilled about this. But in the end it will be up to Lowe to decide. I can't see the Sox going more then 2 years 20M area. They are not going to want anything long term because of the young talent on the way. I still think Penny on a 1 year deal is more likely then Lowe.
  15. Peavy is a 6 inning pitcher tops in the AL. CC Got smacked around pretty good before being shipped to the inferior(overall) NL. I like Burnett, but he's an injury risk. Wang has always been a regular season pitcher, but nothing much in the PO. Lowe could go either way. His ERA was hover aroun 5ish when he left 4 years ago. But if he can really dial in his sinker the Yankee infield should be able to get alot of outs..... wait nevermind Jeter is at SS, and who knows who is at 1B, the Yanks IF D is questionable. That might cut into Lowe's success and #'s. But yes if EVERYTHING went according to plane, then it would be sick.
  16. http://http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3705150&campaign=rss&source=MLBHeadlines Wasn't Jacko really high on this guy at one point? This has to be the low point of Yankee pitching prospects:lol:
  17. Clement as a back up plan????
  18. I would have liked the Sox to get him for the bench. But if the Yanks decided on him at 1B over Tex I'll take that. It looks like the Yanks will be throwing all their money at pitching.
  19. Damn, was hoping Sox would get involved. O well. Uggg and only for Marquez.....
  20. I hate his tatics, but if I was in need of an agent, he be at the top of the list. Don't forget, in the end, the player has the final word.
  21. The Marlins have shown interest. Pavano is better off in the NL. He might amount to something there if he can stay off the DL. Cashman should try and say this out loud, " I'm considering bringing paying Pavano to come and pitch for us." If it sounds dumb when you say it, it probably is.
  22. Lowe as the 4th SP isn't bad. Depends on the AAV of his deal, and thatn it's a 2 year deal with maybe a 3 option. I know he can get more, but hes going to have to take a discount to come back. The Ownership group is not as High on Lowe, as Lowe is on Boston.
  23. He wants back in Boston cause he was a God and got tons of poon there. LA has too many other stars, he's a nobody, so no poon.
  24. Smart move with horrible economy.
