  1. Thanks for everything Mike, that said, I don't mind seeing him leave.

Thanks for the background Kilo:thumbsup: Sounds like is is worth a shot. The Yankees aren't looking into him? I find that odd...
  3. You lost me there. This isn't a popularity contest. The FO has shown they don't care about trading a fan favorite. Point is, if they trade Lowell, no ones not gonna watch the team anymore, or give up their season tickets. They will make the move that they believe improves the team now and for the future. And for the most part, the FO has been good at what they do. Pedroia is just about the only untouchable on this team. I don't mean to say that they would trade anyone else on the team easily. But Pedroia is probably top 2B(close to it) in the AL, there's not much room to improve. Every other position has better players somehwere in the league.

Does anyone have a scouting report on this kids stuff? Being 22, there is time to develop him. Not sure what kinda contract they would have to offer. But I guess it's worth a shot.
  5. Hmmm never thought of that. Ortiz is up in '10 right? Is that the ETA of Lars?
  6. I've thought about this as well. But how can they be certain Lars will be better/as good then Tex? What if the sign tex and use Lars as a trade chip, his value must be up there right? All I know is the Sox need a power bat for now and the future. And the price of FA is only going to keep going up from here on in. They might sign Tex and 4 years from now it looks like an absolute steal for the money. 5 years from now, 20M a season could seem avgerage. The thing with money in these deals seems to be going one way, up. And I can't see it ever changing, unless America's economy completely bottoms out( depression of sorts). Or MLB does something to the current LT system. Which the PA will have a fit about. There so many different scenario's that could happen. Who knows, the Sox could just be trying to bump up the price.
  7. This is true, but there's also been rumblings the Rangers want to move Blalock.
  8. If your expecting Jacko to not sell low on any Sox prospects, then you haven't been around long. I'm on the fence with Kott. He will have to prove himself in the bigs. Theo hasn't said much about him, and in the same time has looked at other C's. This doesn't make me think he is a sure thing to come in and be the C for the Sox.
  9. He's been revealed as a soft tossing RHP. It's too late to hide him in the minors and hope everyone forgets how bad he was, and forget he like to pop off at the mouth. the Kid has the stuff of a 40 year old Mussina, but he's in his low 20's. Get whatever you can for him. I don't know if Colorado is the best fit for him, but he might be salvagable in the NL.

Kid's got skills, no doubt. I think it will go Longoria by a landslide because of his power #'s, and the whole worst to first charge of TB this season. Someone from this team will have to win something.
  12. Fair argument. but we all know the writers vote. So W's, K's, ERA will be taken into consideration heavily. PLus it's a good comeback story, and we all know how sentimental the writers can get....

Sota, Votto, and Bruce where very good this season. I don't think the rookie crop this year was too bad. I think the young talent in this league is unreal.

    NL MVP

I said Howard, Pujols can see it coming. he might still win but I think theres a good chance Howard could possibly get it. Howard got hot when it counted, threw his team on his bat late and pushed them towards the Playoffs(the Writers love this). Pujols had better stats, but no Playoffs. Philly won it all.

What's the book on him? If the Yankees want him they'll get him. I don't think they take the chance of being out bid again. No more revenue sharing for them. This might be the oppurtunity to spend some of that extra cash IMO ....

Sota looks absolutley legit. He is gonna be the best C around for awhile. He's one of those guys you wish you could pull out a trade for, no matter the cost hahaha:D
  17. Linceum, he's absolutly filthy. . Linecum has got 60K's on the 2nd place guy.....Webb has alot of wins, so that could help him.
  18. Lee running away. Lester and Dice-K will get a couple votes.
  19. BSN07

    NL MVP

Howard, he was the guy that got hot late and helped carry a team to the post season and win a WS.

    NL ROY

Gonna have to go with Votto or Sota here. Really close tho...

Longoria, Kid is an absolute stud. He has a chance to be a big time player for a long time to come. I'd take him long term over every 3B in the game, besides possibly Arod.
  22. Pedroia, became the Heart and Soul of a big time franchise. The underdog quality of him( he's a wee one he is), played all aspects of the game.
  23. Lester's No-No Manny's catch in Baltimore Drews AS MVP Bay's first game as a Sox Manny's 500th

If he's good you have to make an attempt at him. You pass someone else won't. Samurai have honor, Baseball GM better make the moves to better there club. Or play with his honor at home after he's fired LOL
  25. Anyone know anything about this kid?
