Baldelli wouldnt's be bad. And he as a 4th OF, he wouldn't be playing eveyday. Works out good for him.

Agree on both ends. But considering Jacoby didn't have a season as some expected(me being one, but for 1st full season it wasn't horrible), I doubt he would have taken likely to being the 4th OF again. I think we would have seen a very different Coco next season in that situation. This could be a small part to a bigger deal, whether it's Ramirez or Masterson getting moved.

I wonder if this is the only move for the BP. It's close to being filled at the moment. Ramirez takes Timlin's spot. I also wonder if thr Sox would be more open to moving Masterson for something they want now?

There been talks that Dejesus, or Teahen could get moved. I like the move. I thought Coco might be part of a bigger deal, but a 3ish ERA BP arm is nice bring back.

Looks like a player for player swap. No prospects exchanged. I like the fact he isn't a FA until 2012.

I like Burnett. But at that $ it makes me weary 5/80M is alot if the reports of the Yanks offer is true, I hate to see the Sox exceed this... But in the end it might just be a ploy to jack the price up for the Yankees. The more Money the Sox can get the Yanks to spend on one certain player, I guess means the less they have to spend elsewhere. IMO this is a smoke and mirrors act. I think the Sox are going to go after Teixeria. Maybe the whole Burnett thing is to keep other teams worrying about him, while the Sox go around everyone and sign Tex. I could be totally wrong of course, but I think it's more likely to see Tex get 7yrs/150M and Penny get 2 years 18-20M, then Burnett getting 5/80M+ from the Sox. -
