  1. I'd keep both too. But Coco is gonna want to start and be an everyday player for someone. And if the Sox decide they don't want that he could want out. There are some decent options on the market to bring in a 4th OF. But no don't trade them just to trade them. The return would have to be useful.
  2. Ellsbury is younger, cheaper, and as good as Coco. Ellsbury stock is down, evn tho his season wasn't horrible. Just lower then the extremely high expectations that where on him. Coco's stock on the other hand has to be higher. And to be totally honest, probably won't get higher. Sell High on him. There are some decent 4th OF options that will be FA. I acttually wouldn't mind seeing them go out and get Baldelli.
  3. (insert famous blind person here) could have seen there was something obviously wrong with Beckett....

    Peavy

Just throwing this out there, I heard it this morning. Peter Gammons believes Peavy is a 5 inning pitcher in the AL, interesting. He said his style of pitching+ AL lineups- NL pitcher spot could really have a bad effect on hijm. And he thinks Peavy knows this and thats why he wants to stay in the NL, or will have to be compensated greatly to go to the AL.
  5. Torn Oblique, and still threw 93MPH... wow....... This is the type of mentality you want leading your pitching staff.... Dude is a stud, please extend him this offseason Theo:D
  6. What would it take to pry Clement from Seattle?
  7. Lowe has been consistant threw out his whole contract for the Dodgers. That said it was in the NL West, a very pitcher friendly division, and when leaving the AL East he was heading down, I will say thanks but no thanks.
  8. Hmmm this could be intriguing. This sounds like a Sox move. Get a top SP cheap because of injury risk. I really can't see why LA wouldn't exercise that option tho. 8.75M is nothing for a possible top of the rotation starter. Of course they could be clearing the books if they are going to try and sign Manny. 2 years 18M, 3rd year option? Penny in the # 4 or 5 spot isn't too bad.
  9.
  10. I feel a tremor in the Force...
  11. I think it's because the Sox have won recently that I can enjoy the Game more. Not sure if I'm making sense but, it just seems that way. Before when they lost, it was loooong winters. Now I'm ok with it, a little disappointed, but otherwise fine with the effort.
  12. Disappointed- Yes Bitter- No Happy with the teams overall performance- Yes Thrilled at the thought of how much fun the ALE is going to be to watch over the next couple years- Yes!
  13. Agree totally Kilo. All I ask for is to make the playoffs, then anything can happen from there. This team did it without alot of it's usual players contributing. 2009 is going to be crazy in the ALE. TB will be older, more experience, and may be coming off a title run. The Yanks will probably go out and break the bank to become more competitive. And the Sox have a great core. I'll be interested to see how Theo sets the team up for next year, considering how much better the ALE is now.
  14. I liked it better this way. The team went down fighting to a very good(and at this point better) TB team.

    Peavy

I think Masterson could be a very good pitcher in SD. His tendancy for GB is always a plus, throw in pitching in the pitcher friendly NL West parks, and he could look very good. But if he could bring in Peavy, I be tempted. He's signed at a reasonable amount, he might not be as dominate, but he's a K pitcher. And it's not like he has to be the ace either. Masterson/Bowden/Kalish? Beckett Peavy Lester Dice-K Buchholz/FA SP
  16. These are the types of fans that give the rest of us a bad name. Have a little class dude, win with grace, not the babble your spewing.

    Peavy

I like Masterson, but he might be a great sell hi canidate at this point in time.

    Peavy

Salty, Clement, not too sure after that. Lottraras hit 20HR this season. Maybe he is finally starting to come around. If theres no trade, I say offer Tek arb. Get him for next season, and have Kottraras splitting time. Give Tek Beckett, Lester and Buchholz, and let Kott have Matsuzaka, plus whoever else is in the rotation. What would the Sox have to give up for Clement or Salty? Hypothetically....
  19. Sorry, didn't see it, I'm 6 hours ahead so sometimes I can be behind on some info:D
  20. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3651459 This is always nice to see from the future ace of your team.

    Peavy

LOL not Paul Byrd, Marlon Byrd. That would be the CF SD is looking to get. Or put Crisp in his place and have Tex throw some prospects SD way.

    Peavy

3 way deal anyone? Tex- Peavy SD- Byrd/Bowden/Bard Bos-Salty
  23. Doooh:what:
  24. Doooh!
  25. Wow, if that 2nd article doesn't sum this whole thing up then I don't know what will. So when they trade Manny, he does a total 180. I wonder if he's mad at the the Sox for not letting him break the Manny story LOL.
