  1. To me, the biggest thing a backup catcher can have is defense. I could care less about the offense from the back up catcher. Molina is one of the better defensive catchers in baseball. The fact that Jacko could probably hit better than either him or Nieves is inconsequential.
  2. Well, the Yankees have exploded for 38 runs in their last two games, and have finally jumped over the Twins. Next on the list. Those pesky Mariners. 2007 American League Wild Card Standings AMERICAN W L Pct GB Cleveland 58 40 .592 - Seattle 54 41 .568 2.5 Yankees 51 46 .526 6.5 Minnesota 51 47 .520 7 Toronto 48 50 .490 10 Oakland 46 52 .469 12 With Boston in Cleveland, as long as the Yankees take care of the Royals, we gain ground no matter what.
  3. That means approximately 15,000 women. What's wrong with that?

The problem is also attendence, and star power. You are an unknown here, you are a mega-celebrity anywhere else.
  5. I am curious. Once Phil Hughes joins the rotation, where do you the Yankees rank? A team's ranking is a joke. The whole idea of the minor leagues is to feed the major league club. So what happens when Hughes and Chamberlain and Kennedy Sanchez and Offendahl make it or are traded [or flame out]? The Yankees drop in the shitter with their rankings. This is why the rankings mean pretty much nothing. You want to know who has the best farm system? The one that turns out the best players. The cycle never ends. A team's minor league system is just that. It's minor. It's used to help the Major League Team. A team that has a slew of low level minor leaguerers with decent/high upside, had a very strong draft, but no legitimate prospects for say this year is a much better system than one that has a bunch of journeyman with decent numbers in Double A. Why? The first system will feed the team in the upcoming years much better. However, if you can trade those prospects for major leaguers, you do it, with the moronic rankings be damned for the minors. This was my rant for the day.
  6. Papelbon made it interesting. I'm hoping for a sweep with the Guardians. Either way, I don't really care. Sox sweep Cleveland or vice versa. Couple that with the Yankees winning two of three in KC, and it's on.
  7. Yanks lost 14-4 on Friday. It evens out. Remember, this stat predicts FUTURE success/failure. Basically what it says that if you are winning a lot of close games, the trend most likely won't continue, and vice versa.
  8. Dumb question. Also, it would take more than Cano to get Utley. I would rather use the prospects my team would have to upgrade a hole. If I had to trade say, Chamberlain and Cano for Utley [i don't follow the minors that much, so I don't even know if that is a good trade for either team], I would rather use Chamberlain, or Hughes, etc., to acquire Teixeira, or for a solid starting pitcher. All teams farm systems are limited. Each team has it's limit. It just doesn't make sense to go after one of your strengths, that's the point I was trying to make.
  9. ARod is a God. Another homerun. Yanks in last place without this guy.
  10. Shelley Duncan with his second homer in the game, 3rd in two games. Gotta cheer for a career minor leaguer.
  11. Damon injured is more valuable than Coco Puffs. Damon could have more homeruns in his first season with the Yankees than Crisp has in the four years for Boston [currently 24-13 Damon]. Crisp. Waste. Drew. Waste. Lugo. Waste. vs. Pavano. Utter waste of genetics. Proof positive that evolution can go in reverse. Should be beaten to death with wet Ramen Noodles or locked in a room with a monkey with a chainsaw. Disadvantage Pavano. f*** him.
  12. To tell you the truth, I don't see why you guys would go after Texiera. Neither first nor third is a problem for you. From an objective point of view, relief, outfield, and and shortstop is your problem. Your strength is RF, 1B, 3B, C, 2B, and SP. I can't see you guys moving players to upgrade your strengths. Just doesn't make sense. That would be like the Yankees looking to upgrade 3B, SS, C, 2B, or LF. Just doesn't make sense.
  13. Abreu just jacked one...14-3.

I went to a bachelor party in Montreal the weekend the US beat Brazil. Let's just that certain Brazilian females got even with us Americans that weekend. Many times over. GOING BRAZILIAN! ALL RIGHT! GIGGITY GIGGITY GIGGITY!
  15. I think this is a fantastic move for the Yankees. Nieves was useless, not a good defensive catcher, not a good game caller, not a good hitter. Nieves was hitting .138, and Molina can and will throw out runners. This will allow the Yankees not to have a downgrade both hitting AND fielding AND game calling if they pinch run, et al., for Posada. It's not going to put them over the top, but I really think that this addition will account to at least one more win over the course of the rest of the season than having Nieves at catcher. Jacks, can you please stop falling in love with EVERY player we have in the minors? Seriously, buddy, not every one is going to be a good player in the majors. The Angels were dumping him off because he was critical of management.
  16. Was it a bomb by Manny?
  17. This is the Yankees time to move...tomorrow, the Sox are in Cleveland, and as long as the Yankees can take care of the Royals, we are sure to gain on one of the teams ahead of us. 10-3 Yankees. Game over.
  18. I can't believe how much you guys are panicking. You have the largest lead ov any division leader, and if one was to listen to you guys, you might as well pack it in. Did you guys really expect the Yankees to finish under .500 this year? Even with a decent run, we con't catch you guys. Even if we do, we have an absolutely killer August, which will probably throw us under the bus.
  19. The Red Sox lineup was WAY better than the Yankees lineup. The Yankee pitching was far superior. Would it be worse? I don't think so. I think 78 would be worse.
  20. To be honest, I never got that deep into it. I'll take your word for it though.
  21. See..I come back to NY, they lose. LOL!
