  1. If found guilty.... Vick is going to jail. Period. I hope he gets a cell mate named Bubba, incredibly violent, who is 6-8, 300 pounds, 3% body fat, is gay, and is a dog lover. Is that too much to ask?
  2. I do. I do love reminding Sox fans that Dice-K is an average pitcher, and nowhere near the pitcher most expected. I would be singing a different tune if we had signed him instead, I will admit. I brought it up since Wang is pitching today for us, and Dice for you tonight. Mainly for my amusement though.
  3. I'll take your word. I only go the first order, it makes life simpler, lol. Plus, I think there is some serious mathemetical error in the third order. Doesn't make sense that the team in all of baseball that has the biggest RS/RA difference is 4 games over 500 at this point.
  4. Is there any doubt that Wang is better than Dice-K at this point?
  5. Compared to us, your pyth is awesome. According to the numbers, we should be one game back of you guys, instead of seven.
  6. In June, they seemed to win/lose at about the right pace, only one game off...this July, they are two games off. If you look at the Yankees, they have the third best RS/RA differential in baseball at +83, behind the Tigers [+111] and the Red Sox [+92]. This stat, and I know my old friend ORS agrees, is the best indicator of future performance. So, don't be surprised at the Yankees if they make the playoffs. Although the Yankees have had a lot of bad luck in the beginning of the year, lets not forget that the Red Sox have not had the production expected from Ortiz, Manny, or Lugo. So look for both of those teams to close the gap on the Tigers in the RS/RA. By the way, Egypt was HOT. I haven't been there in the summer in many years, and forgot how HOT it gets. Holy s***, it's like living in an oven.
  7. Man, I can't believe that I defending Sox fans here. You guys are really short-sighted here. The Yankees have a stretch in August where they play the Indiands, Orioles, Detroit, Angels, Detroit, and Boston in a three week stretch. Do you guys seriously think the Yankees will GAIN ground during that stretch? I think the Yankees chances for the post-season are better than when I left, as I do not fear the Mariners of the Twins in the least. That means, out of the Tigers, Guardians, and Red Sox, we only have to beat one team to get in the playoffs. I doubt it will be the Red Sox though.
  8. Teams slump all the time. It happens. I do admit though, my team has been playing well of late. I can't believe Sox fans are falling apart like this. They still have a 7 game lead on us.
  9. Tell that to Ken Lay and Scooter Libby. The government rarely loses the cases it prosecutes on a federal level. In my opinion, Vick should absolutely go to jail over this. In fact, Vegas is putting the odds as follows: Will he be waived - 5/2 Will he be traded - 10/1 Fined/serve jail time - 2/1 He will issue a Public apology - 1/80 He will enter rehab - 5/1 He will be banned for life from the NFL - 50/1 I'm thinking of putting $1000 on him getting jailtime/fined.
  10. Hello all...just got back from Egypt, and it looks like my Yankees are making a run on the Wild Card..thanks all for keeping the thread going. Anyways, to my fellow Yankee fans, don't get too excited about this run. This run is absolutely needed, as in August, we are in trouble. Check the schedule: Fri. 10 at Cleveland Sat. 11 at Cleveland Sun. 12 at Cleveland Mon. 13 Baltimore Tue. 14 Baltimore Wed. 15 Baltimore Thu. 16 Detroit Fri. 17 Detroit Sat. 18 Detroit Sun. 19 Detroit Mon. 20 at LA Angels Tue. 21 at LA Angels Wed. 22 at LA Angels Fri. 24 at Detroit Sat. 25 at Detroit Sun. 26 at Detroit Mon. 27 at Detroit Tue. 28 Boston Wed. 29 Boston Thu. 30 Boston In other words, it isn't going to be easy. To all of my friends here, thank you for the kind comments towards me when my uncle passed away. I figured at my father's age, I should take some time off and go spend it with him in Egypt so he wasn't alone. I missed the beginning of the Yankee run, but hopefully it continues. Anyways, thanks all for the kind words, and I look forward to baiting you all again.
  11. Anyone who puts anyone over Arod at this point in the season for AL MVP should be banned forever from this board. I would give it to Pedroia over Matsuzaka [is he eligible?]. If not, I would give it to someone else. I just don't agree with the Japanese player being a rookie thing.
  12. You can't make up a loss. You can make up a win. That is the beauty of the loss column. I'm surprised you don't see this.
  13. A bad night for the Bronx Bombers. A loss to Colorodo, coupled with a Tigers and Red Sox win, put the Yankees a step further away in the race for the post-season. AL WILD CARD Team GB Guardians - Tigers - Athletics 3 Mariners 4 ? Yankees 5 Twins 5 ? Blue Jays 7 ? Devil Rays 9 ? White Sox 10 ? Orioles 12 Royals 13 Rangers
  14. You are going to win more than lose with Ortiz leading off. That's because you are a good team. I just think you are more efficient with Pedroia leading off.
  15. You are an idiot. There are some very sharp and knowledgeable fans on this site from both sides. Even though I secretly think ORS is the Antichrist, he is quite knowledgeable about the sport. I actually think that majority of Red Sox fans here, Schillingouttheks, Yeszir, the aforementioned ORS, example1, and many others are decent people and in the online community, I would actually consider friends. You, on the other hand, with that post, make me enjoy ripping the Red Sox. To make such an attack on people that isn't even warranted considering the post you quoted simply shows how stupid and ignorant you are.
  16. Wouldn't it be great if Beckett lost tonight? Twice through their rotation with two of their big three losing.
  17. I don't follow the Sox all that closely except for the standings..but why not lead off with Pedroia?
  18. I have to agree with my nemesis here. Berroa deserved the award over Matsui, and in my opinion as well, Japanese players who play in their major leagues shouldn't be eligible.
  19. Back to the race...the Nationals mounted a furious rally, scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth, but with runners on the corners and two outs, the rally died. So as it stands now... AL WILD CARD Team GB Tigers - Athletics 2 Mariners 3 ½ Yankees 4 Twins 5 ½ Blue Jays 6 ½ Devil Rays 8 ½ White Sox 9 ½ Orioles 11 Royals 12 Rangers 14 All is not lost however. The Yankees gained 1/2 game on the Sox who got beaten up in Atlanta. Yanks AL East deficit down to 8 ORS's.
  20. Exactly. No difference. Except that Moose will probably finish with a better year, but they both will suck.
  21. I told you guys, he is finished. Just like Mussina is for us. The sooner you guys realize this, the better for you. Hope your front office doesn't realize it and gives him an extension.
  22. That was kind of a pointless statement there.
