  1. Unless he comes to the Yankees, or goes to the NL, I HOPE he doesn't get traded.
  2. Who cares if his stock has risen? If the Yankees can replace Andy Phillips with Teixeira, is there anyone out there at Talksox who thinks the Yankees won't make the playoffs? If the Yankees can get this guy without giving up Major League talent [this means Farnsworth can go in the deal] than this deal should have been done two weeks ago.
  3. You know, I was reading Joel Sherman's article in the NY Post saying how the Yankees are not serious players for Teixeira. I don't understand, and this is why Cashman is an idiot. I can understand not moving Hughes, he joins the rotation now. However, I would trade Chamberlain and/or Kennedy in a heartbeat. Before this season started, Chamberlain was rated the 75th prospect by Baseball America. SEVENTY FIFTH! Are you telling me that Teixeira isn't one of the top 75 players in the game today? True, he has been injured, and not playing to his norm, but he is a young player who will rebound. He is also a Gold Glove firstbaseman who, with a pitching staff that doesn't strike out a lot of batters, and has less than a stellar defensive infield, will be a major addition. Can you imagine this lineup? Jeter Abreu Teixeira Arod Matsui Posada Abreu Cano Damon How does that lineup not make the playoffs [i know Torre will insist on Damon leading off, even if he can't steal a base anymore, has a s***** average and OBP]. The Yankees have a chance at a bona fide All-Star switch hitting Gold Glove firstbaseman, one who hits for average, power, and has a good eye. All for the 75th best prospect in baseball. Cashman should be assassinated.
  4. Even I, with all my evilness...can not be mean to such a person. Welcome to Hell. My job as a Yankee fan is to never let you forget it.
  5. I find it hard to believe that the Sox do not have someone better in their farm system right now than this guy. In Rookie ball.
  6. Is there any purpose to this move? Did Theo lose a bet or something?
  7. However, if you lose today, how would you feel about the series?
  8. With the Red Sox losing to the Guardians, we inch closer the AL East crown. As hot as the Yankees have been, the Mariners are that cold, matching the Yankees six game winning streak with a six game losing streak of their own. The Yankees can jump over the Mariners with a Seattle loss coupled with a Yankees win. Slowly creeping into the race... AL WILD CARD Team GB Guardians - Mariners 4 Yankees 4 ½ Blue Jays 8 Twins 8 Athletics 11 Orioles 12 Rangers 13 ½ White Sox 14 Royals 15 ½ Devil Rays 20 ½
  9. Hey man, it's nice to catch a break here and there.
  10. Either way, we gain a game...so no "loss" either way. As long as we keep winning, the standings will take care of themselves.
  11. Guys, Lowell has no real value for Texas, or any other team that is restocking. Although he is a good player, he is older. A team trying to rebuild is not going to be interested in Lowell, so forget about him in a deal. Youkilis, citing his age, is a little more valuable. However, the rookies and prospects you have are much more valuable. I doubt you guys would get him without Bucholz, and that we could without Chamberlain. Don't forget the Dodgers, who have more tradeable prosects than our two teams combined.
  12. What a great series this is looking to be...first, the return of Lester, then Sabathia vs. Dice-K, now Carmona vs. Beckett....great, great series. Can't say who I am rooting for. Part of me wants to close the gap on the Guardians and just get us in the playoffs, the other part of me wants to knock the Sox out of first place. Either way, it's a good result for us.
  13. A great day for the Evil Empire. With the Guardians losing to the Red Sox, and Mariners getting swept in a doubleheader in Texas, the Yankees made up ground by shellacking the Royals. Also, the Twins losing put some distance between them and the Yankees, and the Tigers getting swept in a double header, the Angels losing to the A's tightens everything up and can only help. With Mussina and Igawa going today and tomorrow, the Yankees will be hard-pressed to win one of the next two games. Here is how the wild card standings look at this point. AL WILD CARD Team GB Guardians - Mariners 3 Yankees 4 ½ Twins 7 Blue Jays 8 Athletics 10 Orioles 12 White Sox 13 Rangers 13 ½ Royals 14 ½ Devil Rays 19 ½
  14. LOL @ ORS. That was funny.
  15. We are lurking.... Although highly doubtful, but I'm hoping for a Boston Massacre Part III.
  16. Taken from ESPN: Would you do it as a Sox fan? I don't know much about Bucholz and Ellsbury. I know I would do it in a heartbeat for Chamberlain.
  17. I wonder...since the Red Sox won, and that makes me 2-0 lifetime in thread starting that result in Red Sox wins....if RSN wants me to start another one, lol.
  18. Good day for the Yankees. While beating up the Royals, the Yankees gained a game on the Guardians, Twins and Mariners. Five games back of the Guardians in the loss column. Slowly, but surely, we are creeping back into the race. AL WILD CARD Team GB Guardians - Mariners 2 ½ Yankees 5 ½ Twins 7 Blue Jays 9 Athletics 11 Orioles 13 White Sox 14 ½ Royals 14 ½ Rangers 15 Devil Rays 19 ½
  19. You know, I can't wait for Bonds to break the record just so we don't have to hear about him anymore.
  20. Congrats to Lester. Hope you guys suck tomorrow and lose badly.
  21. I don't know your asinine rules. When in doubt, whip it out, I say. As for that, yes....hoping Lester has a good game, but Sox lose.
  22. Well, since no one started it and game time is in about an hour and a half, I hope you forgive one of your hated enemies starting this. However, since Lester is a player we all root for, I don't feel bad starting this one. Hope it's good enough.
