  1. Just got home! Good timing!!
  2. Oh I disagree big time with that. Adding the third PO team means that the team we’d face in the first round could be down their top 2 starters. Meaning neither will be available for more than one start in round 1. Prior to a 5 gamer, you could theoretically go with 3 starters Ace game 1 #2 game 2 Day off #3 game 3 Ace on 3 days rest game 4 Day off #2 starter on full rest game 5 Having to survive two games prior to a series really put them in a pickle pitching wise, not to mention the pen being tired from two elimination games
  3. He has a known hole at the top of the zone. And it is the worst possible kind. It's both a pitch he cannot hit and he cannot lay off.
  4. I hit “post” on the above after he waved weakly at a pitch up in the zone. Next pitch he hit into the river, lol
  5. They ever say what was wrong with Devers?
  6. What is the point of having Gallo in the lineup?
  7. Yep, that's exactly what he said. If you find a way to win in the back end 8 games then kudos
  8. "Aside from the astros every other team in the Central AND the west suck"
  9. Sox biggest needs lie in the pen. They should see some measure of consistency once Whitlock returns to the pen and Sale strengthens the rotation. But they can use at least one more multi inning weapon. On the offensive side, they could use a 1b and leave Casas down
  10. While the sox have been a tale of two clubs, I am utterly disgusted with the quality of opponents outside the AL East this year. Aside from the Astros, every other team in the Central and the West suck. I know we are getting to the point in the schedule when division play becomes the norm, but I cannot see the sox missing the POs without some level of a tear down. They can almost be left as is and they should stumble to a WC spot.
  11. Volpe's season line is now respectable at a .790OPS, 11HR, 33SB. He has gone nuclear since May 31. .898OPS 12 steals in June, 1.271 3 steals in July. Dominguez had a terrible April, a ridiculous May, okay June. OPS at .792 with 8HR and 16SB. Waldichuk continues to be nearly unhittable in AAA but his command has trailed off. He's walked 17 and hit 7 batters in 39.1IP. He has struck out 55 in that time and has a BAA of .200, so he has been effective. Ultimately, I do not think he comes up until his command improves. No need to rush him Peraza has continued to plug along at SS in AAA. He just turned 22 2 weeks ago. He has 10HR and 16SB already. His May and June were TERRIBLE. His June was awesome with a .303/.379/.513 line. Austin Wells is killing baseballs. He just returned after a 6 week absence. In 28 games, his slash line at High A is .323/.429/.576. If he continues his great run, he will likely see time in AA before the season is over Trey Sweeney is starting to bounce back. His May was absolutely terrible with an OPS of .503. His June was more like his talent .270/.363/.472. He has been a surprise on the basepaths with 16 steals. Hayden Wesneski was absolutely dominant until his start on May 31. He got smoked that day and has been off since then. 21ER in 25.2IP. He was right behind Sears and Schmidt as the "next man up" for injury, but I think Waldichuk has now jumped him Yoendrys Gomez came back from elbow surgery last month. He has thrown 10IP 1ER 9K 1BB and 8H. Everson Pereira cooled off from his insane hot start, but he still has a solid line for 2022. He has shown good patience with 30BB in 67 games, but he has struck out 80 times in those games. He has stolen 15 bases in that time as well. Luis Medina continues to show maddening inconsistency. First two months were rough, but he caught fire in June and only walked 7 in 26.2IP while striking out 34. He then followed that up with a stinker 3 days ago
  12. Wacha scratched with dead arm. No word on an IL stay
  13. That’s because their GM decided to procure 10 starters for 9 spots in the lineup. Someone sits every day and it’s keeping them fresh
  14. Florial needs to keep developing. We need a now producer. Until we find it, we need to hope Gallo and/or Hicks can get back to career averages
  15. Boone has been good this year. Although, I’m not sure if that’s just because every arm in the pen sans Chappy is throwing smoke and dominating
  16. This team keeps on rolling. DH sweep with the bats rolling and the arms pumping strikes. This team just continues to roll. They’re in every game, they don’t beat themselves, they hit to situations and their pen shuts down everything. This is the best Yankee team I’ve seen in 20 years and they’re still having spots of underachieving! Donaldson is under .700 OPS. Gallo and Hicks literally cannot hit.
  17. I think the Sox ship sailed the day they signed Story. Interestingly, I expect him to sign with LAD
  18. He’s a two time world champion middle infielder who hits way way above his position and has proven to be a heck of a leader. And he’s only 29. He’s gonna get paid and get paid VERY well. Any thoughts of a 5-6 year deal need to be thrown out. He’s gonna get 8-$34 mil per IMO. I don’t think you’ll see a ten year deal like Seager got, but I think he beats the AAV
  19. I think Bloom would like to be but there’s be a revolt on Yawkey way if he did that
  20. He’s gotta buy. Sox are still in playoff position. But these were the cream puff games they had to win. After tomorrow the schedule becomes ridiculous
  21. Lol, they’re mounting a comeback against a future Red Sock in KRob
  22. Cubs are actively trying to lose. What happened here?
  23. Robertson has been nails everywhere he goes. If he stays healthy, I’ve no doubt that would continue
  24. So Cora admitted that Whitlock is going to be in the pen after he returns and he will need a rehab assignment. I know Hill just went down, but Sale is almost ready. Bello is ready in the minors as well and would likely be the next up when Seabold or Winckowski fall back to earth. But with the development of Scheiber and now Houck and Whitlock, you have the makings of a solid back end. The middle can be held down with Strahm and maybe Diekman who is turning his season around. Sawamura is hit or miss. Your issue right now is health. Once back to full health, there is a good chance the sox pen is at least decent. If Bloom invests in the team, he could add a couple arms that make it more than that
  25. I’m stealing that. Lol Yeah, we need to get another lefty force beside Aaron Hicks and Joey Gallo. Both of those guys suck. We’ve got plenty in the minors, so we should be able to swing a deal for a lefty rental. Beni makes the most sense but will probably cost a lot in talent. A guy like David Peralta makes sense. Bat is reasonably good, glove is good. Bats lefty. Other than lefty rentals are scarce. Brian Reynolds would be the ultimate prize, but he’s under control for awhile and will cost far more than Beni would
