  1. Peraza has been on fire for two months after slumping hard prior to June 1. June saw an .890OPS and July is at .997OPS. He is up to 13HR and 24SBs on the season. He is only 22 in AAA and is on fire now. He would be a big league option now if the Yanks weren't already dealing with a glut of MIFs in Torres, IKF and Lemahieu. He is the likeliest to go if the Yanks get a player with more than 1 year of control (ie Castillo) Volpe is on fire. He homered in both ends of a DHer yesterday and might be primed for a promotion to AAA when the Yanks deal off Peraza. His season OPS is up to .835 with 15HR and 37SBs while cutting his K rate and upping the walk rate. This kid looks like a future star. Jasson Dominguez is on fire. He brought his season OPS up to .813 in low A, got promoted to High A and in 7 games there has an .870OPS. On the year, 10HR and 21SB for the 19 year old who is just tapping into his power. Austin Wells has reached his third level this year after a promotion to AA. He just turned 23 2 weeks ago as well. His OPS between A and A+ was near 1.000. In 16 AA games, he has held his own with a .823OPS. The lefty power hitter is likely destined for a corner OF spot but is still playing catcher at this stage. He has the most advanced bat in the system and will likely be in the bigs at some point in 2023 Ken Waldichuk has finally run into some resistance in July. His ERA in July is a gaudy 6.52 with 12 hits in 9.2IP. He has still struck out 15 in those 9.2IP, but he has finally hit a bump in the road. His stuff is good enough to dig him out of it, the question is will his command be good enough for starting or will he transition to a multi inning swiss army knife. Trey Sweeney has found another gear after struggling for the first 2 months of the season. .835OPS in June, .891 in July. Power stroke coming now with 10HR and good speed with 19 steals. He is coming on at the right time, but is blocked at AA with Volpe there. Sweeney is still playing SS, although everyone expects him to shift to 3b Hayden Wesneski got through his rough patch and has been absolutely dominant in AAA in July. He is likely next on the list of callups. He throws a high 90s sinker and a wipeout slider, something that could be used in the long relief role in NY Yoendrys Gomez is burning up High A, although with the Yanks holding onto him with kid gloves. After missing 2020 due to covid and most of 2021 and the beginning of 22 with injury, the Yanks have handled him with kid gloves. He is in High A, has had 6 starts but only 15IP. Dominant numbers. The leash should come off a bit these final two months. Everson Pereira has been killing the ball in the minors for someone so young and has earned a promotion to AA. He turned 21 in April and has 10HR, 19 steals and an OPS of .805 between High A and AA. He is starting to see the K rate drop and the BB rate rise. As the closest OF prospect to the majors, he is flashing all 5 tools. Luis Medina continues to mow down hitters in AA with the same issues. Crazy high K rates. Crazy high walk rates. 40 walks in 72IP with 81K. Batters cannot hit him as right now the BAA is .179. He is Rule V eligible this offseason and should finallly be transitioned to the pen where he could absolutely dominate. Regularly sitting over 100mph and topping out at 103, he could see the velocity rise in shorter stints
  2. This season officially makes no sense. Eovaldi looks like he’s pitching injured and it’s shown Sale is out as a starter for the year essentially Wacha and Hill are still out. Pivetta had one reasonably good start after looking like cannon fodder for 6 weeks The Sox offense still has its holes. The pen still is undermanned. The Sox have a TON of expiring contracts with players who’d be desirable to other teams. They’re currently 3.5 out of a PO spot and sinking. They cannot beat the AL East, a division they’re currently last in. They’re tied with the White Sox and have two teams in front of them before they get to the Rays in the final WC slot. And they’re going for it? This make no sense. This is prime time to sell. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this, but this is a move by Henry to keep asses in seats and not a move that’s best for the organization’s long term health
  3. BA had Beck Way as our #13 prospect prior to the draft. Sikkema would probably have been kept outside of the fact that he’s rule V eligible and there’s zero chance he’d have made our 40 man this offseason. Otherwise, this did nothing to harm our deep farm. We still have the parts for a Castillo deal
  4. This is huge and it lengthens our lineup. I think we will see Gallo offloaded, likely to Philly, where he can reclaim his value outside of the pressure of the Bronx. Adding Beni keeps the great fielding and baserunning Gallo brought while also bringing elite contact, line drive, and walk skills. He likely slots in as a lead off hitter in NY, allowing Lemahieu to drop down the lineup a bit and garner more RBI. This also allows Carpenter to play DH with Stanton out. Once Stanton returns, the Yanks will have the good fortune to have one extra starter on the bench every game to pinch hit.
  5. Chandler Champlain, Beck Way, TJ Sikkema Shows the depth of the system. These guys were way down on the Yanks list
  6. Read an article today about Soto’s negotiations being a smokescreen. That Cash wants Castillo or Montas plus Robertson. If we are dealing with the cubs, I’d look at Happ too. Cashman wants to match up with Houston, and with Sevy an unknown, they’re got Cole and Cortes then two guys with inconsistency issues. Adding Castillo to the front really helps the team. We need a reliever now that King is out. Robertson would be perfect. We also need an OFer, doesn’t have to be Soto or Beni, could just be Peralta
  7. The crash after 2018 made it obvious that a builder was needed. The builder was so good at his job that he succeeded in building a team that went to the ALCS while rebuilding and restocking talent. My bet is the Sox are down for 2 years after this one and by 2025, they’ll be a deep force to be reckoned with…..if Henry allows it.
  8. We are getting thin. This is the season, and Cashman knows it. He’s got to do something big
  9. I’d love to get Soto, but I also realize that a Soto acquisition ends Judge’s shot at re-upping
  10. Dominguez and Sweeney both pulled mid game. Josh Breaux scratched right before game time
  11. Tucker replaced Springer Peña replaced Correa They kept the irreplaceable pieces. They developed pitching and took advantage of Verlander’s injury to get him at a discount.
  12. And that doesn’t include rebounds from Loaisiga or Chapman, which is entirely possible
  13. Schmidt just threw 3 shutout innings. Marinaccio is back Abreu has a 0.68ERA in 11 games with NY Luetge has been solid Peralta has been great. Holmes has been the best reliever in baseball. Sears has been awesome They’ve got two incredibly talented AAA guys who are stretched out as starters on Wednesday and Waldichuk. Right now, the Yanks are trying to keep options stretched out. As August rolls around and especially if Sevy comes back strong, we will likely have a whole new pecking order of dominant arms
  14. They can lose games and still look like contenders, but they’re losing games akin to how an expansion team would lose games. No fundamentals, bad defense, bad baserunning, bad situational hitting, mental errors, effort errors, etc. I’ve never seen a team that peaked so spectacularly crash in this way. The Sox will be sellers, but as someone else noted here, they’re selling junk parts now. Outside of Xander and Devers, every dealable player has dropped in value tremendously over the last two weeks
  15. Downs needs to come out before he loses confidence
  16. The number is 10. Yesterday, due to being down, he went with Greene, which backfired. Boone tried to ride Cole a little longer, and it wasn’t like Cole got hammered. He had a ******** missed third strike call then a bloop double and a GB single. So be it. You cannot win them all. One thing I will say from here on out, watch out for the Orioles. They’ve got a really good pen and a plucky offense that never quits
  17. I posted it. That one hurts for sure
  18. Let the selling begin
  19. Bloom was brought in to rebuild the Sox. His 2020 team got you Mayer. 2021 was a surprise. He was supposed to be able to tear down the team, but he had to add to it because they were winning at the deadline. This year, he’s subtracted a few and added some guys on the cheap while securing his long term SS. He’s a master trader. I know his deal for Renfroe is getting skewered, but the two kids in the minors are the real reason he dealt Renfroe. The Betts trade was centered on a top prospect and a now OFer. Both have taken downturns, so the trade looks rough now. As a Yankee fan, it pains me to see what Bloom can do once Henry gives the all out sell signal. Bloom will rebuild and will turn the team into a perennial contender if the Sox faithful don’t get him fired first
  20. What they need to do is stop babying their kids. If you’re rolling with German and Sears to cover Sevy while he’s out then bring up Waldichuk and Schmidt to pitch middle relief.
  21. King fractured his elbow. He is out for the year
  22. I do so enjoy watching you eat your words and realize the Sox suck this year
  23. Personally I was hoping the wheels would fall off in a couple weeks, but here we are. Sox we’re keeping their heads above the water waiting for the starters to return and when they return, they’re bums. Eovaldi prior to his injury would net a huge return! Eovaldi the guy chucking meatballs up there isn’t worth anything. JD and his balky back and no power limits his return. Wacha being out makes it hard to deal him. The two guys who likely bring back the most beyond the white whale of Devers are Vaz and Bogey. Strahm might return a prospect down the line too. But the rest look dead in terms of value. In terms of Bogey, his best fits right now look like MIL, STL and SD. Vaz fits most places. Then there’s the obvious with Devers. He will return an enormous amount of talent when traded
  24. King just blew out his elbow
