  1. They’re gonna sell now. f***
  2. I agree, lol. Domingo is toast if he cannot get his FB back to his usual 95mph clip
  3. Makes no sense as well if this was his stuff in the minors. German was effective mid 90s. 91-92 is meat. He couldn’t locate the breaking ball either, but that fastball isn’t gonna cut it. I’d rather they gone Schmidt-Sears. German’s time is up
  4. Time to DFA German. 91-92 German is meat
  5. How do you let him face Alvarez???
  6. German is hanging everything. And his fastball is no longer mid 90s
  7. Gotta love the moxie. Stinks an infield hit walked us off. So be it. Intrigued by German, but man did they pick the wrong opponent.
  8. Exactly. FsB just trolling as usual.
  9. Really strange draft. Not a single high school player thus far
  10. You’ve got 3 vs Toronto, 4 vs Cleveland, 3 vs Milwaukee and 2 vs Houston before the deadline. That’ll determine a lot
  11. Agree on one thing SG, Boston is no more racist than any other city and they’re definitely less racist than a few cities I’ve spent time in in the south. If the Sox deal Bogey, they’re selling the entire ship. JD, Eo, Wacha, Vaz, etc. So I don’t follow you in the line of thinking of swapping out X for another expiring contract to salvage this year. Bloom is gonna wait the next 10-12 days to decide. If the Sox win 6-7 in a row out of the break, he will have to add. If they continue their July swoon, he will tear down
  12. He had surgery yesterday. Won’t be able to pick up a ball for 6 weeks. Could return in September as a pen option
  13. Love your Noah Dean pick. High 90s closer with a wipeout slider as a lefty. Just gotta stay healthy. He’s gonna be the first in the bigs IMO
  14. 3. Trystan Vrieling RHP Very similar to Thorpe and rated about the same. College pitcher, 6’4” 200 lb. Has more now power topping out at 95 with lots of projection due to his size. Truly has a four pitch mix with a hammer curve, a true plus change and a slider that acts as a cutter. Issue with Vrieling that cost him a higher selection is he loses his command at times and other times commands pretty well. Thorpe doesn’t have that inconsistency to him. Either way, both Thorpe and Vrieling look like guys with starter stuff and arsenal. Love these picks
  15. 2. Drew Thorpe- RHP- projection picks in college are rare, but this kid has a now high floor with projection to be greater. Sits 91-93 with a true 4 pitch arsenal and one of if not the best change up in the draft class. Where the projection comes in is his frame. He’s a 6’4” 195lb string bean who should add power as he bulks up, but also has the now command and arsenal to move through the minors fast. Yanks will probably need to hold him back some as he gets into their arm strengthening program and get some meat on his bones, because he’s the kinda guy who will decimate the short season minors and lower A ball levels. Thus far, I like the top two picks. I’m glad to see the Yanks shirking off the low ceiling high floor players and going for guys who have the ceilings to be something special.
  16. Nick Yorke hasn’t really lived up to his 97 game cameo last year. Still early, but I wouldn’t crow about his under the radar pick yet. I had a wee bit of insomnia last night and decided to read up on the guys brought in. The sites, unsurprisingly, vary widely on Romero’s hit tool. They don’t vary, it seems on the defense or his lack of power. I read MLB who likes his hit tool. I read Law who doesn’t. Ultimately, he’s a high floor player. His floor is a big league utility player. His ceiling is a middle of the pack starting shortstop. Now guys like this have their place for sure, but not in the first round. First round players should all have all star projections if they hit their ceilings, IMO. This reminds me a lot of the Yanks selection of Citi Culver years ago or Erik Holder. Guys with high end D and a wish and a prayer O Your second pick has more of the boom or bust to him. Cutter Coffey is a bat first MIF who’s likely destined for 3b. Plus arm, average to minus range for a MIF, fringy speed. Solid hit tool, projectable power. It’s rather funny that he’s ranked in the 100 range but it seems he’s the better selection than Romero, IMO. Third pick was the highest rated selection by the Sox. Roman Anthony. 6’3” lefty crusher with now power that will only improve. Won’t win you any GG’s but should stick in a COF spot. Only question is whether he’ll make enough contact. If your picks went Anthony, Coffey, Romero I don’t think anyone would have objected all that much
  17. 1. Mikey Romero- he's a premium contact player with enough defensive speed and quick hands to stay as a SS. Right now, he is a minus for power. Question is if he will develop it
  18. 1. Spencer Jones- Huge power. Lots of swing and miss. Hit for a high average. Had a huge arm before a fracture in his pitching elbow ended his pitching career. His comp is Aaron Judge.
  19. #11 Brock Porter still available
  20. First pick is about an hour away. Yanks had been really hit or miss with their first rounders in the past 15 years. They've tried to be cerebral and pick guys nobody ranked and typically it bit them in the ass. They finally started taking guys who were highly ranked in 2016 when they took Blake Rutherford. Now, Rutherford ended up washing out, but he had enough clout as a prospect to be used in the KRob/Kahnle/Frazier deal. From 2017 on, they've done a pretty good job 2017- Clarke Schmidt- recovering from TJS, the Yanks got a deal on him and now he is on the MLB/AAA shuttle and very likely to be our 5th starter out of the ASB 2018-Anthony Seigler- picked one spot ahead of Casas, the Yanks definitely want a re-do. But Seigler's bat has developed, his speed is there and his defense is stellar. He will be in AA next year and should be on the fast track to be in the bigs in 23/24 2019- Anthony Volpe- a top 8 MLB prospect who has gone thermonuclear 2020- Austin Wells- hammering all pitches and now a top 50 big league prospect 2021- Trey Sweeney- started out cold this year in A ball, now mashing. Should be in High A soon Yanks 8 picks away to see if they go with highly ranked players or shirk that again
  21. Sox are one pick ahead of the Yanks and have a comp pick for not signing Fabian.
  22. If you go full on sellers, you deal Devers too
  23. #8 prospect per MLB, Cam Collier still on the board.
  24. Really surprising to see Rocker go there. Although the Rangers have been dying for pitching and now have the two teammates with Rocker and Leiter
