  1. I love the long season. Nothing better after a long day to grab a beverage and watch baseball. Don't shorten the season!
  2. And I keep hearing how hitters have “figured out” Cortes. Nothing further from the truth. If you’ve watched him throw, you’d know that first two months, he left nothing in the middle of the plate. He “challenged” hitters but did so with movement into the batter, typically righties, who would swing over it. He’s lost command of the inner half vs righties. He’s either too far in and not enticing or too far middle and is getting s*** stomped. My concern for Nesty is fatigue and one of the reasons why I didn’t want him to be an all star. Yanks may be benefited by going to a 6 man rotation after the break. Schmidt got up to 53 pitches last start. He will likely build up to 65-70 today and should be ready for 80 pitches after the break. I’d do that for July just to get some extra rest and then pare down to 5 again for the home stretch
  3. I don’t think we need much on the starting pitching side. We’ve got 5 good starters and depth beyond that with German coming back, Sears and Schmidt. Where we need some help right now is the pen. With Marinaccio, Ridings, and Loaisiga out but expected to return and Green down for the count, our vaunted pen has gotten thin when you consider we are literally in every single game. You can’t run the same bridge and closer every game. I think you’re gonna see some under the radar pen move and a deal for a LFer. Benintendi would be the perfect fit since he’s been in a pressure cooker before, but Peralta would also give us defense if nothing else.
  4. Really strange to see the Yanks just not show up. IKF and Lemahieu were hot garbage defensively. Really strange from one gold glover and another gold glove contender. You had pitchers who’ve been sharp missing corners and leaving pitches down the middle. You’ve got batters who did nothing vs Ort, Sawamura and Brasier, three guys who aren’t very good. Just a weird game today, the likes of which we haven’t seen the Yanks play pretty much all year
  5. Really uncharacteristic for this year
  6. How do you let Taillon finish this inning?
  7. I’ve been here but didn’t want to have my first post after the Yanks hung a 4 spot on the Sox. Is this a reasonable non troll time to post after Cordero’s 2 run jack, lol
  8. I guess the question is, with Carpenter hitting the piss out of the ball, is there any urgency at all? I would push Carpenter into the starting lineup for the rest of the month and if he keeps mashing, I may save our prospects
  9. The one issue with Holmes is he doesn’t K people like Chap does. Holmes gets an 80% GB rate and K’s 1 per inning. Coming in with a runner in scoring position means he needs only a ground ball to go through to tie the game and that’s what happened. King was lights out up to the double. I didn’t think he needed to be pulled, but so be it. Wandy did not have it last night. Too many balls middle middle. Tonight’s another night, so be it
  10. When you don’t execute, you lose. Hat top to the Sox, they didn’t give up
  11. Yanks going with their A relief squad. We lost Green for the year. Chapman had a good inning lately but is lost. Loaisiga has been out for a couple months. Marinaccio went to the IL last week. And we still have a 3 deep bridge that is dynamite. King will go the 7th, Wandy the 8th and Holmes the 9th
  12. Where is he this series?
  13. Refsnyder looks like a starter going forward
  14. Never, ever count on Paxton. Ever
  15. Not sure. Has O’Neil Cruz played there this year?
  16. Cole was sharp in his start, he just stupidly pitched to Devers twice. Cortes was way off. He could find the corners of the plate and left everything middle middle. Monty is also missing middle middle. If he doesn’t find his way to the corners, he will melt down
  17. He’s not. Prove me wrong
  18. Bogaerts got a hit, but I’ve noticed that Bogey isn’t fully finishing his swing with his lower half. Might be why he’s not driving the ball
  19. He’s facing the Yanks. And the Yanks are seeing what we all are. Kutter has great stuff tonight. So they’re gonna lengthen their ABs and either wait on a mistake or drive him out early
  20. Crawford seems like the kind of guy who needs things to go well. He’s got the stuff, does he have it between the ears?
  21. That’s a cockshot. That’s a gift
  22. Crawford looks really good. Fastball, cutter, slider. All look good
  23. I admit nothing other than you’re a dolt
