  1. Yanks under/over for runs per me is 1.5. I’m taking the under. Cortes is gonna throw 7 strong innings, 2ER. Boone will go to the newly promoted Bard who will allow 2 more and Yanks will lose 4-1
  2. Never been a great strategic manager, but he’s been able to motivate the team to the PO’s every single year. This year will be his toughest task as the team has gone into complete and utter failure
  3. Boone knows he’s managing for his job. Great managers make it through this and right the ship.
  4. Here's the deal, everyone is pressing since the bats arent working. 22 runs in the last 11 games and that includes an 8 run explosion vs the Rays. Thats 14 runs in 10 games outside of that one game. Pitchers need to be perfect and any time they are pushed in that way, they spit the bit. Cole was dominant in that game and it took a blooper from JBJ to unwind everything.
  5. It’s an everything slump. They’ve lost their way and if they complete this total meltdown, they need a total house cleaning
  6. Total meltdown from Cole. f*** this team
  7. This team sucks right now
  8. Yeah, this team was sputtering going into the break and the tinkering seems to have made them worse
  9. Pretty damning trade to this point. They didn’t get Montas for August, though. He eats the stros alive
  10. Huge win. Hopefully it spurs the offense to avoid sucking and start making contact again
  11. Hicks is the kind of guy who comes up small when you need him to just come up average. Yes, he had a big game tying HR against Toronto earlier this year, but other than that, he’s been as unclutch as one can be. He’s the guy who comes up with the bags packed and one out and you know he’s gonna GIDP. It’s addition by subtraction now. He’s no longer able to overcome his offensive deficiencies with good D. His D is now below average
  12. Every team has blips. Some of them longer than blips. We shall see if this team can come back from it. Cabrera is a solid player who should get some run at 2b. Torres is essentially a walking corpse at 2b these days. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear about season ending surgery with him. From what was reported, the Marlins were willing to deal Pablo Lopez for Torres at the deadline until they “backed out”, presumably over Medicals. That’s why JMont was moved because they had too many starters. And as much as some people like to kill the JMont deal, German (who’s occupying JMont’s spot) has been nails since the trade
  13. Last check Gallo’s K rate in LA is higher than it was in NY
  14. Florial coming up. Time for Peraza and maybe even Volpe too. Seriously, jump starting this offense is more important than anything right now
  15. They’re back to being the almost unwatchable team they were last year
  16. Yanks are flat. They sit Lemahieu. They will get Stanton back shortly. Boone keeps running Torres out there even though he has been hot garbage. He allows Locastro and Higgy to hit in the 8th. He is almost on auto pilot right now. I get having a big lead and being willing to use it, but cmon now. You gotta prioritize winning and a matchup with houston without home field will be a problem
  17. Yanks entering play today are one of the worst teams in baseball in the second half. Thankfully, they were the best team in baseball in the first half by a wide margin and are still 10 games up in their division. But the shine is starting to fade a bit. Here are the things that have gone wrong 1. Stanton hit the IL. Stanton had been slumping, but he is still a tough AB. He extends the lineup and he made guys around him better by putting in good at bats. Also, you cannot replace the home run power he brought and his ability to absolutely demolish the Red Sox. Thankfully, he is nearing a rehab assignment 2. Carpenter breaks his foot. s***** timing for a guy who was probably about to steal comeback player of the year away from Lemahieu. He will likely be back for the playoffs 3. Torres hits a slump. Torres' slump is coinciding with him quietly getting a cortisone shot over the ASB. Since the ASB, he has had no power. He's rolling over on everything and has shown limited signs of improvement. 4. Hicks still slumping and Bader on the mend. Yanks got Bader for a reason, who is a near All Star level player when healthy. Instead we have run Hicks out there who, outside of one big month, has been an absolute minus all year. 5. Pen implosion. Green went down and they didnt miss a beat. Chappy got the yips and we kept rolling. Loaisiga struggled and we crushed. Once we lost King, things changed. Boone started asking Holmes for more than one inning and he imploded. We went to guys like Abreu in big spots and they couldnt handle it. We brought in reinforcements, but havent worked them into the mix yet. Now that this team is starting to fade, it is time to make some changes.... 1. Get healthy. That is the most important thing. If you get Stanton back at DH and Bader in CF, you can remove Hicks from the lineup and stabilize the middle of the order. Bader isnt having the biggest offensive year, but he is coming off two seasons of 110+wRC+ while also providing gold glove defense. Also monitor the progress of Carpenter. Adding him for the playoffs as a bench bat would be huge for this lineup 2. Promote Peraza. Since June 1, he's got a .297/.357/.520 slash with 17 steals and 11 bombs while playing stellar defense. In promoting Peraza, send Torres to the IL. Let the wrist heal and see if he can get his power stroke back. The Torres of right now does not help this team. 3. Put Chapman back at closer. Move Holmes to mop up for a week or two until he can get his location back then redeploy him in the late innings. Use Effross, Peralta, Luetge and Trivino in the middle innings and for GOD SAKES bring up Marinaccio. The guy has been nails and we sent him down because he had options. f***ing A, we need him back
  18. Boone with no sense of urgency. I get were up 10 in the division, but you gotta play to win here
  19. How is higgy hitting here!!! f***ing Boone. You can’t let your np hit catcher bat down 3 in the 8tj
  20. Yanks seem to like Brasier per my recall, maybe I’m wrong.
  21. Wacha has the yanks guessing which is pissing me off. Have a plan first two strikes and react with 2 strikes. It looks like the yanks decided to pick a zone they’re swinging in an swinging regardless of the pitch or location. Just a slumping team right now. They need Stanton to come back and extend the lineup
  22. Can’t go deep with Wacha. Yankees continue to not be able to hit
  23. Glad to see Boone pull Holmes. Surprised it was Effross, but he got the job done. I honestly think it’s time for Chappy to take it back, but a win is a win
  24. To answer this idiot… The league hasn’t “caught up” to Holmes. Holmes has lost the zone. When he came to Ny, Blake had him throwing his fastball and slider to the middle of the plate and the ball would move to the corners. Now, for some reason, Holmes isn’t doing that. He’s lost confidence in his control and now he looks to be dealing with confidence issues. He’s not getting hit hard. Martinez single was a weak grounder. He’s just not throwing strikes
