  1. Sox eliminated from the playoffs last night. It’s a good, good day
  2. Sweeeeeep! And with that, the Sox are now mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Oh happy day!
  3. Bello is gonna be a problem long term. His stuff is stupid good and he’s learning to command it
  4. He also isn’t a novelty anymore. Everyone throws 97 now with movement. His isn’t moving
  5. Chapman has sacrificed RPM on his heater to keep his velo up. His fastball is now hittable. He's not good enough to be anything more than a primarily fastball pitcher. He's done.
  6. Yanks take the next two and they can also mathematically knock the Sox out of playoffs
  7. The team I don’t want to face is Seattle
  8. O line is young. Whenever the O line is young the Irish struggle. This is a year to build. Get the O line some experience. Add some weapons. Find a QB
  9. 4 more years of 6 WAR pace or if he has a 10 year career after and averages 2.5WAR and he is in. 60WAR seems to be the new threshold
  10. Yanks battled well, used the big ball from Stanton but small balled the other 3 runs in. Pitching was solid outside of Schmidt, who just didn't have it. Yanks rounding into form after their absolutely disastrous August.
  11. He's on a hall of fame pace for sure. If you extrapolate out the 2020 shortened season, his WAR for 6 years is around 37. That's a 6 WAR per season pace. If you look at another hulking slugger from the past, Dave Winfield, he capped his career off as a 64 WAR player over 22 seasons. Judge is demolishing that pace.
  12. Can we take this kid out now. He’s got nothing today
  13. Donaldson got old rapidly. He's playing stellar defense, but his bat is slow
  14. 4 pitch walk to Judge to start. Cmon now. Have some balls
  15. Pen completely implodes and the bats pick them up. Stanton with the big walkoff, hopefully he gets hot. Judge with #60. Wow
  16. Pyne shook off the jitters to have a pretty solid second half. Goal here is to have a viable starting QB going into next season. Buchner ain't it. Pyne might be. And if he sucks, bring along the 4 star recruit from NJ
  17. Exactly. They were dead on arrival at the deadline and a Hosmer/Pham pickup was supposed to fix that? Really terrible general managing. Someone would have given up a top 100 prospect for Bogey, maybe two.
  18. Hosmer was there to delay Casas service clock. Once the clock didn't matter, Casas came up. Hosmer is likely to be DFA's. He's essentially useless
  19. Yanks still have the best run differential in the AL and second in the majors to LA. So, yes, they were that good.
  20. Sox eliminated from the division 2 weeks before the end of the season. Oh happy day. I know you guys call the Yankee elimination Smiley Beni day. Weird now that he is on the Yanks, but so be it. What do we call the sox elimination day? What do we call the elimination day when they are almost certain to finish in last place? Jackpot day? Lol, just giving it back to you guys who thought from day 1 that the sox had a snowball's chance in hell of winning anything this year. But I digress. I honestly think management needs to take the fall here. Whomever did not allow Bloom to sell off expiring assets from a dying team was absolutely stupid. Just abysmal general managing. I know JD and Eo had their warts around deadline time, but you could have gotten something useful before they ultimately cratered. Kike you extended, fine there. Xander would have returned a king's ransom. StL would have pushed their chips to the middle of the table in Waino and Yadi's last year to win a title. The fact they didn't pull the trigger on any of those guys is almost unforgiveable. Now, you see them all likely heading out of town and not enough replacements on the open market or in the minors to make the sox competitive. Without some Bloom magic, 2023 looks pretty bad for the sox
  21. My thought on this Yankee team is that Boone needs to address reality. Montas is damaged goods. Sevy is back, so Montas can go to the IL and stay there. Goal for him is to get right for next year when Taillon departs in FA. He will be the 5th starter and if he needs surgery or cannot take the turn, Schmidt slots into that role. On the other points of reality, Boone needs to move Holmes to low leverage spots. His slider has lost so much RPM that it isn't a usable pitch and you cannot get by on one pitch anymore. Have him in low leverage spots and really try to harness his slider in pen sessions. Boone needs to build his bridge here. Chapman is still throwing seeds, but hitters are hitting his fastball now and he doesn't have the location to transition into a dominant weapon anymore. So for Boone's pen, he needs to look at people who are still performing and he has plenty of options. Loaisiga has been lights out the last two months with ERA's of 1.86 and 1.00 in Aug and Sep. He isn't striking guys out like he has done in year's past but his GB rate is absolutely comical. He needs to be in the circle of trust. Trivino has been dominant since coming over. He's a sub 2ERA pitcher with significant closer history. He is in the circle of trust. Wandy Peralta has a 2.72ERA and a WHIP of 1.05. Luetge has a sub 3 ERA and has been on a roll since some early season struggles. And the breakout performer is Marinaccio who has been absolutely unhittable this year with 49K in 38IP and only 19 hits. Add in Schmidt as the long man and you've got 6 weapons to trust in the pen. If Holmes can reclaim his slider, he is the best one, but until he does, he cannot be in the circle of trust. I would only use Chap in low leverage spots and probably leave him off the roster in favor of Effross, should he recover in time from his shoulder strain. The other thing I think everyone needs to realize is the Yankees offense has upside, but hasn't been healthy. We have seen some hints that Donaldson might be getting his mojo back. That would be welcome, if only for the next 6 weeks. Lemahieu is resuming baseball activities and could be activated soon. Rizzo returned yesterday and the offense responded. Bader returns tomorrow and will make his Yankee debut. Cabrera is starting to hit the last 3-4 games and he has the stuff to be a really good hitter. Still waiting on Stanton to go on one of his hot streaks. Ultimately, the Yanks didn't have a fluky start, they were dominant because they put the ball in play, hit homeruns but also played small ball and pitched better than everyone. We still have a very, very solid rotation and if Sevy reclaims his stuff, a top 3 in the POs that I would put up against anyone. Cole, Cortes, Sevy is a damn good 1-3. Taillon has been good all year and German has been lights out since he was torched in his debut game this year. Add in Schmidt as the piggy backer on anyone who has a short start and the guys behind and the Yanks should be able to make some noise. I do think they have the stuff to knock out the Astros. It is just too bad they took the month of August off and let the Stros jump them
  22. How is last place?
  23. Sevy has an option that will assuredly be picked up
  24. Montas getting a shoulder MR. His velo was down yesterday. I think we bought damaged goods
  25. Do you really want to see Hosmer? He sucks
