  1. Bello's stuff is insane. Yanks definitely chased him a bit and their ABs were almost non competitive. Give credit to the kid, although I think the Yanks would adjust when they see him again. He front doored a few breaking balls, but for the most part if the ball was coming in on a righty, it was gonna dive further in and needs to be taken. Multiple batters started swinging at sinkers that looked to be heading in off the plate and they went turbo and were unhittable
  2. You're kinda locked into a teens pick, so tanking isn't really worth it at this point. If you were headed for a top 10 pick, then tanking makes sense. You're in the middling zone you never ever want to be in
  3. Also, for as much s*** as I give Cashman, he always seems to turn later draft picks into pitching gold. Wesneski was a 6th rounder, who got us the Cubs closer Effross. Waldichuk was a 5th rounder who got us Montas. Marinaccio was a 19th rounder and he's a key cog in the pen. Stephan was a 3rd rounder and is now nails in the Guardians pen Whitlock was an 18th rounder and is now nails in the sox pen Otto was a 5th rounder and is now in the rotation in Texas, he was a headliner in getting Gallo German was a 4th rounder and is due to make his debut next year in Boston Sikkema was a comp pick who was the headliner for Beni Weissert was a 18th rounder and is in our pen now (although sucking) The point is, the Yanks draft pitchers outside the first round and have success. This year, the Yanks selected 15 pitchers and only 5 position players. Chances are, a few of those guys make the bigs in the pen (maybe rotation). The sox don't do this
  4. Wells demolished two levels before heading to AA. He was raking (first two levels) and is hitting well in AA. The guy was picked in 2020 (the year with zero minors), and is in his second MiLB season hitting well in AA. And the Yanks system is somewhat top heavy, yet they continue to deliver big time rookie minor league performances in the pen. Yanks have gotten awesome production from Schmidt, Marinaccio and Sears (since dealt) this year in the pen. Last year saw the evolution of King and Cortes. Every year we seem to bring up young relievers who end up thriving. Sox don't
  5. That was a cock shot called a ball, wow
  6. Big error there. Marwin needs to GTFO.
  7. I stand by my comment.
  8. I enjoyed that. How’s last place?
  9. You trust this team's leadership? Yanks are in first and I don't trust their leadership
  10. Your minor league system is top heavy. You have 2 high level prospects in Casas and Mayer. That usually rockets you up. But the sox farm did not have a good year. Also, the sox pitching prospects are thin as an anorexic teenager. You and I both know it. Beyond Mata and Bello, there really isn't an arm there that gives you an inkling they can pitch in the bigs.
  11. This isn't little league. Kid needs to see the arm angles and the movement from Cortes. He might K 3 times against him, but who cares. He can use that experience to take him yard next year. This year is a wash
  12. Big difference between confidence and experience. Kid is heading into an offseason regardless. He is gonna see Cortes next year. Might want to give him a shot
  13. There is absolutely no reason Casas should be sitting. How will the kid ever hit tough lefties if he doesn't face them?
  14. They don't have the minor league talent to support a pen. They didn't add anything of use. A good pen is not just a good pen on opening day, it's a good pen with incredible depth due to the failure rate and injury rate of relievers
  15. Hamilton is from the Renfroe trade.
  16. Yanks core of top offensive prospects is impressive for next year Peraza and Cabrera are in the bigs right now. For next year, I think Peraza starts in AAA and earns his way back to the bigs as a rotational infielder eventually winning the job from IKF. I think Cabrera makes the team out of the gate as a super sub. Kid has 6 OF assists in 17 games. He’s an excellent defender both in the IF and OF and does have some pop that’s been slow to come in the majors. He replaces Marwin Volpe made it to AAA and will likely start there. Should Torres falter next year, he will get the call and supplant him at 2b Pereira has been raking at AA and will likely be starting CF for Scranton out the gate next year. He’ll be the first OFer promoted. Wells has been raking and hit well in AA. He will be catching in AAA next year. Hard to see his position, as he gets time in the corner OF as well. I think long term he’s a RFer for us, but his bat is undeniable Dominguez is absolutely raking and just got promoted to AA. He will start there in 2023, but he’s the kind of kid with the potential to absolutely rocket up to the bigs next year. He’s got more upside than anyone in the system, including Volpe
  17. Yanks pummel them.
  18. With today's pitching, we need to get back to the 9 positions on the field and not a conglomerate of 9 guys somewhere out there. Hitters have gotten stronger, but the age of Driveline and pitcher strengthening has given pitching a decided edge over the past 5 years. Add in the ball changes and you've got games that aren't very watchable. The game itself suffers without some offense. This should help it. It should also bring back the age of the high average slugger
  19. Andujar is a shell of himself since his shoulder exploded. Volpe is world's better than Florial. The shine was coming off Florial by the time he debuted in the bigs a few years ago
  20. Lemahieu's toe injury may require surgery and knock him out for the POs. I do not, for the life of me, understand why the Yanks didnt add Volpe to the 40 man as an option for the infield. It is f***ing flabbergasting. They knew Lemahieu had this issue. They knew it could flare and keep him out. Why not add your best minor league player to the roster just in case. Now, Volpe can come up for the last few weeks but is ineligible for the POs
  21. Volpe thermonuclear. Walks vs Glasnow and drops two bombs off the Rays AAA team. Kid is on fire in AAA. Why is he not here?
  22. Ump seemed strongly opposed to the Yanks winning last night. That replay at 1b was a joke. Also, Torres up with the bases full in the 9th and Fullmer threw 4 consecutive pitches out of the zone and two were called strikes. Terrible umpiring by the crew
  23. Verlander has been nails, although he is gonna miss some time. Scherzer has been nails but perpetually hurt.
