  1. I'm in. Do i have to do anything else? Thanks SFC- you the man.
  2. ORS...thats one way to look at it. I look at it with a little more elementary theory involved- What happens if every player on your team has a 1.00 OBP?
  3. So i take it from a lack of a response that you do NOT want to bet on who scores more runs? Furthermore- you CAN compare a smaller sample to a larger sample when looking for a recent decline in numbers. Make it the last 3 years versus the 4 previous. I don't care- the numbers will still show a major drop- just not as much. Why is that? Because they keep getting older and keep putting up stats worse than the previous year. Comparing them to when they had career numbers IS EXACTLY THE POINT, because they all keep moving away from those numbers. Wait- so you are comparing Gary Sheffield's RBI's batting behind A-Rod, Jeter and Matsui, to when he was batting for the Braves and Dodgers? Great comparison. No variables there. Don't you need to pass science classes to be a doctor? Doesn't testing hypotheses have something to do with it?
  4. He hasn't been on here very much... too bad...
  5. I had a feeling that it might be directed at our good friend MJ. He basically takes rotoworld, TWIB, Peter Gammons, the New York Daily, rolls them into one giant thought blob, and then ejaculates them out for us all to see why Elton John keeps wearing Rose colored glasses. They sure do make the view pretty.
  6. I guess it would be me- except i didn't post stats for a year- i posted them for the last 2 years versus the previous 5 before that. The reason wasn't to get an overall average of a player's career, but to show the major decline in averages of some of the older yankee folk, which I would surmise is due to age. I didn't mention a thing about OPS, or the red sox for that matter. I was just shutting MJ up. Speaking of Marines Hammer, my PFT allowed me to bump up a class, so I'm shooting for June now rather than October. It didn't please the parents and girl too much, but I was a happy boy.
  7. I'm confused as to who he's even talking to Hammer....
  8. Good to see the crack addict is back. The Red Sox scored 30 more runs than the yankees last year. They upgraded at first, filled with similar talent at 3rd (more power less averge) and will get SLIGHTLY less run production from their CF. The yankees meanwhile, upgraded at CF, and lost merely by aging. They get older every year, and their averages and production show it as evidenced by my post in the other thread. Those players averaged a drop of over 45 POINTS in their batting averages over the past 2 years. I'm sure it was the wind, the water, or whatever f***ing excuse you come up with this time, but it aint. it is OLD AGE. The Red Sox bullpen has added not only tavarez and Riske but Delcarmen Meredith Papelbon Hansen and has others such as Lester waiting in the wings. Again, YOUTH and talent. IMO, the red sox bullpen will fare better than the yankee bullpen this year. I refer to my first statement, and would like to add that you are spending entirely too much time operating, studying and posting and need to start f***ing your wife, as it will help you make more rational comments and think clearer. Have a good day my friend.
  9. MJ- want to make a bet on which team scores more runs this year? Lets look at some numbers for this years crop of superstars Posada 34/35 yrs old 99-03 AVG- .273 04-05 .267 Giambi 35 yrs old 99-03 AVG .311 04-05 .248 B Will 37/38 yrs old 99-03 AVG .313 04-05 .255 Sheffield 37 yrs old 99-03 AVG .317 04-05 .290 Jeter 31/32 yrs old 99-03 AVG .324 04-05 .301 Boy, like a good wine, these guys keep getting better with age. I wonder how much more of a decline we will see in their stats THIS year!!!!
  10. I thought it was pretty funny when Randy Johnson made that bird vaporize.
  11. Yeah...except the PFT...
  12. Nope- no crabs- although I did notice some birdshit on her back so she may be into the whole beastiality thing.
  13. She was smokin 46 54 46 Fat sand chicks need lovin too.....
  14. The Horror The Horror Im sure his name is Rocco for a reason. Perhaps Wells wants a trade because he knows he have so many arms that any sort of pitching mishap may mean he won't make his incentives.
  15. I didn't even get the chance to try, as I spent from 5am until 2 pm taking medical and physical tests for Uncle Sam. Which basically meant i was in a "virtual waiting room" all day as well!
  16. Thank you very much.
  17. [quote=TheMeanWalrus; And thats assuming he stays healthy which at his age is faaaaaaar from a sure thing. He does have a rubber arm though Walrus, and one thing you never have to worry about with him is conditioning, as he'll be a fat POS regardless.
  18. VA-you probably know this but from what you typed i'm not sure so i fig'd i'd offer it up you don't need to subscribe to AOL to run AOL Instant Message(IM). You can just download the program and then speak to whomever instantly via computer.
  19. VA- its AOL Instant Messenger Screen names. I've got one- maybe i'll throw it up after i've been here for a bit.
  20. I think he just remembers how the game used to be played, when high and tight was commonplace and batters weren't wearing body armor and pissing and moaning about their rights as a hitter as if the ACLU was involved...
  21. If he's missing at 100mph high and tight on A-Rod's purple lips than I say he is a necessary piece of the puzzle.
  22. I just don't want to see Delcarmen go in the deal. The kid throws too much heat to get rid of him. But I like the idea of Coco in CF. I'm sure they will make his salary in his jersey sales alone.
  23. Here you go Yezsir: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2305550
  24. Col- good to see you aboard. I could see batting him in the 8, MAYBE the 9, or the 1 or 2. As of now, we don't have a leadoff guy. We have no crisp. If we get him, I agree that Crisp is the leadoff man.
  25. Mrky Mark did what was necessary, and got his arse on base and without him we are World series-less, just as we would be without 15-20 of the rest of that group. If a player can field at 3rd solid, first won't be a problem If Kevin Millar and David Ortiz can play the postion, a fielder from another position can as well. As far as hitting goes-there is simple premise involved in this game that as long as people don't make outs, the team never stops batting. Youkilis makes outs 6 out of 10 times. This is better than most, and gives our big boys with the bats the most chances to hack away. Leadoff men dont NEED to run, they need to get on, ESPECIALLY on a team that is the antithesis of small ball. 1st to 3rd on an outfield single? Why? They are just going to give Ortiz or Manny the green light to hit into a double, HR, potential ground ball DP, or strikeout anyway? This team doesn't play the game that way.
