  1. You need to cut this s***. Go take a tranquilizer and prepare your next resignation letter at work.
  2. Yep, it does. We have some very angry people here who have to demean others. Shame on those of you in the middle who don't call them out on it. Fred is a wild and crazy fan, and he would be the first to admit it. He goes after the players and FO with fervor and he has occasionally crossed the line with other posters, but I he is the bigger person than his attackers as he has several times offered apologies when he has crossed the line. I have never seen an apology offered to Fred by the self righteous haters who are so caught up in their self righteous hate that they can rationalize their abhorrent behavior.
  3. And that was enough for you to quit yet another job.
  4. Yes, the posters should always be a topic of discussion.
  5. Petit could have laid down for a nap on that ball and still thrown out Hannigan by a full step.
  6. Miley is doing great. His ERA is dropping like a stone today. It is presently at 7.83.
  7. And this is a good game for Miley.
  8. He' s worse out there than Cespedes last season.
  9. I see great opportunities for you as a motivational speaker.
  10. College was about 30 years ago for him. He might have matured.
  11. Got the payment. Thank you U.N.
  12. Now it makes sense to me how you can relate so well to the plight of the world's oppressed underclass.
  13. He did put the ball in play and put up good ABs.
  14. Spud, I was wondering if the Yankee broadcast reflected reality at all ( other than the fact that ARod hit a PH HR). Sterling tends to call a fictional account of games. He practically depicted the Fenway crowd as a hate- fueled mob heaping abuse on the stoic hero ARod. I was wondering if the Red Sox broadcasts matched up with this account.
  15. I noticed the all lefty lineup before the game, and I thought Masterson would have a very tough time. I was surprised that his results were as good as they were. How was his velocity?
  16. He pitched a long time for a drunk, and he never had arm trouble. Porcello should hope to have as good a career as D-Lowe.
  17. True to your word about the beginning of May. Thanks. I will pm you the address.
  18. jacko is a teddy bear compared to most Yankee fans.
  19. I missed last night's game. I decided to avail myself of the opportunity to see to of the games top pitchers (Harvey and Scherzer) go head to head. After the game, I caught the end of the Red Sox game on the radio with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. I had just missed the ARod homer. They were just gushing. Sterling called it one of the most dramatic things you would ever see. He described the fans reaction to him as very loud and negative and he just went on and on about his great feat. They said how difficult it was to come off the bench in freezing weather to face a guy who was throwing 96 mph. They went on about him until the end of the game and described the scene after the game as if every writer and announcer was lined up to interview the great ARod. Was this close to accurate?
  20. Pruneface, one question -- Do you prefer Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts coffee?
  21. My philosophy of a good batting order bunches your best hitters at the top of the order and I prefer that my best hitter always get an AB in the first inning. I hate lineups that stick a guy in the top of the order that is not one of the team' s top hitters -- to extend the order. That is not productive IMO -- breaking up the good hitters.
  22. I always like D-Lowe and his k rate was very similar to Porcello. He had one great season as a starter that he followed up with seasons of ERAs of 4.5 and 5.4 - not very good. He did not have sustained success at Fenway as a starter. Other than that one season, he was never better than a #3.
  23. You've got the right attitude Thunder. Fantasy is all about fun, competition and friendly trash talk. I thought I had you put away before yesterday. I didn't realize that you had Lester and Harvey going yesterday. I was at the Mets game last night. It was a pleasure to watch a matchup of Harvey and Scherzer -- two guys with great stuff who really know how to pitch. Good luck this weekend. It should be nip and tuck.
  24. Some good information Kimmi. I do have a couple of comments about some of this data. I think Porcello gave up more of his HRs to left-handed hitters because Comerica is shorter to RF and the park gives up more to HRs RF. Yes Fenway is longer to RF and this will help him against lefties, but Fenway is shorter to LF and gives up a ton of doubles. This will hurt him against right handed hitters, and there are more right handed hitters. I am having a hard time recollecting a sinkerballer with a k rate as low as Porcello being successful at Fenway for an extended period. IMO, Porcello will have to step up his k rate and keep the ball in the park to be successful at Fenway. He is not going to be able to continue hitting bats at the same rate as he has in his career and be a #2 for us. He has stepped up the k rate thus far, but he has had mixed results keeping the ball in the park.
