  1. I did. I never thought much of Salty and millionaire ballplayers don't need a union contract clause to give them paid leave for paternity. If they want to be with their wives for the birth, they shouldn't get paid for the time off. Then we would see how many were truly thoughtful family men.
  2. Also, the Dodgers have said that they will be souting other teams to find a replacement for Brandon McCarthy. The competition for Hamels will be stiff, and I am sure that we will hear all the usual excuses when we come up empty handed at the trading deadline. Others are bound to take you to task on your criticism of Benny Baby, so let me be the first to correct you. You were not precise enough when you said that he is sitting with "his finger up his ass.". He has thumb up his ass.
  3. Johnson is pitching great. He was very impressive in Spring Training.
  4. Every win is a good win, but sooner than later the pitchers have to get it going or changes will have to be made.
  5. Salty DFA'd by Marlins today.
  6. You want to watch 4 1/2 years of this garbage?
  7. Stupid base running is a hallmark of Farrell managed teams. When he was managing Toronto, they ran recklessly to the point where Omar Vizquel question what they were doing.
  8. We will have to disagree about this.
  9. This would be interesting. I wonder if the Papelbon hate here would abate if trusted Benny sees fit to bring him back.
  10. IMO, he didn't get enough value in return.
  11. Benny Boy bungled that one. He sold very cheap on a year and a half of Lackey-- with the full year being at a huge discount. He brought back almost nothing.
  12. Yep, it goes with the territory.
  13. The competition will be fierce. A couple of more injuries like my team losing Wainwright and you might have a chance, but I' ll just have to find a way.
  14. Miley was pretty miserable last year. I thought that the league had caught up to his mediocre stuff and that the NL had the book on him. Sometimes a change of league's can help a guy like that for a year or two. I just shake my head when I think about the extension.
  15. This was the time to get me. I also struggle out of the gate. You can look forward to being steamrolled the next time.
  16. A couple of comments about today's game. Unfortunately, the injuries to Victorino and Castillo are prolonging the ill-fated Craig experiment. The guy is toast. As for Miley, I was hoping that he would be a crafty lefty who would benefit from a change of leagues, but I am not surprised at what I am seeing from him. I would have been surprised if we got a good pitcher from Arizona in return for the 2 bags of trash that we sent to them in return. What did surprise me was giving this guy a contract extension before Spring Training. He has some nice financial security. Good for him, but the fans have no feelings of security when he is on the mound. Finally, Holt needs to play everyday.
  17. Not this week. They are playing The Boys of Summer managed by the smartest fantasy owner in history. He crunches stats in his head as he watches the games. Your lunch got eaten this week.
  18. Or Victorino. Incompetence by Farrell.
