    What was the game line onthe Yankee -- Toronto game on Wednesday when Buehrle wwent against CC? Buehrle hadn't beaten the Yankees in 11 years and CC had won 6 straight decisions against the Jays.

    The Mets have been giving signals that they would move Dillon Gee. He might be worth looking at. He shouldn't have a high trade value -- a nice lower level prospect or 2 should get it done. If the Sox are committed to XB at SS and Marrero has no future in the organization, I think the Mets would jump at him. They might give up Niese for him. The Mets are having a lot of problems with Flores defense at SS. Marrero could possibly play for their big club right now.

    Game time @ 7:07 Wade Miley vs. Aaron Sanchez Game 1 of a 3 game weekend set where the two worst pitching staffs in the American League face-off against each other in that launching pad north of the border. There should be some offensive fireworks.

    I didn't see Masterson's last start, but if his velocity was still arouind 87-88, he needs to be sent to the pen ASAP. Maybe he can rebuild his velocity working out of the pen. His velocity was down last year. It remained down in Spring Training and unless he ticked up on Wednesday, he is still a good 4 MPH below where he needs to be effective. At 87-88, he will be the same 5 + ERA poitcher that he was last year.

    Also what about Farrell? He came in last in both years at the helm of the Blue Jays. If we come in last this year, he will have a track record of 3 last place finishes in 4 years.

    I guess that Nieves got fired as a result of pressure from the reactionary fans who fill Fenway every game. That must be the reason since everything has been going according to plan.

    Like I said maybe Nieves is drinking or maybe he slept with Henry's girlfriend, or maybe the obvious is the truth-- he was a sacrificial lamb. If Nieves was the problem, why have they cleaned out Mujica and Varvaro also. Are they drinking too.

    Whatever, you say Kimmi. There have been many 4 year contracts in the last several year and none have gotten an AAV of $20 million plus. Your argument is a rationalization of a fact.

    The pitching staff has the worst ERA in baseball. The pitching coach is the same pitching coach that was in place when the 2013 staff got off to a very hot start. Do the math. You are a math teacher. This is a desperation move by the organization which has realized that it has built a very shaky staff. Of course there is a possibility that Nievees has taken to the bottle. This pitching staff has increased my alcohol consumption. Am I understanding correctly that you oppose this management decision?

    I just stated some facts which people have been trying their darndest to refute, but they have been unsuccessful. Why all the effort if the facts are pointless. Sounds like surrender.

    Bells, I am not anti this deal. I was surprised that they gave him the deal so early and I am surprised that Ben set a new market level. He has not done that during his tenure. I have repeated this over and over. I am not anti the Porcello deal. That is what you think I am. IMOn he is the only positive that this staff has going for it. Don't you remember that I have wagered a case of beer that Porcello will have an ERA under 4? Would I do that if I was anti the Porcello deal?

    You have been following the progress of the minor league pitchers more closely than I have been following them. I agree that the better performers should be promoted.
