  1. When Mayer or Story return, I don’t think they should take the starting jobs from Cheng or Seigler. They play good situational baseball, put the ball in play, play good D and make things happen. I like what they bring to the team.
  2. Is Bello’s problem mechanical or between his ears?
  3. In Fort Myers, S5Dewey told me that he was concerned about Bello and wasn’t counting on him for much. I was surprised, because I thought he had turned a corner in ‘25.
  4. What is going on with Breslow sending Anthony away from the team for his rehab? Is it really his pinky finger as some are saying. I thought it was his ring finger. I remember Ronnie Lott biting off his injured pinky to return to play. Does Anthony need this digit to play?
  5. Weisert in the 3rd inning. Is he bringing in a white flag from the bullpen?
  6. Devers with 2 HRs today. We don’t need that.🙄
  7. The FO did what they always do— demonize a player on the way out the door. They have done this time and again.
  8. I wouldn’t characterize Not wanting to be removed for a pinch runner as insubordinate. He did leave the game. I also don’t see how that was being insubordinate to a GM. and calling a player a “cancer” is demonizing him.
  9. Of course not. Also, Manny publicly asked to be traded several times. I don’t recall Devers doing that. Apples and oranges,
  10. I’ll take that “insubordinate “ exceptional hitter over those incompetent GMs any day. Who was the second GM that suffered the insubordination of Devers? edit: while no one has called him a demon, the media and many fans have demonized him.
  11. Devers is not a malcontent demon. He is a 29 year old with dynamite in his bat. He is a bit of a prima dona but that gets overlooked for 30 pops a year and tons of line drives.
  12. What is the late status on Casas?
  13. I remember Manny being insubordinate and Jim Rice. I remember quite a few great pitchers throughout the years telling their managers to go back to the dugout instead of coming out of the game. I want those guys— every single one of them.
  14. When did I say that I wanted to get him back? That bridge has been burned. What I am saying is that it was a terrible FO blunder and horrific communication that ended up sending out of town a truly exceptional hitter. It wasn’t a good FO move in the wildest stretch.
  15. Let’s hate a guy for wanting to stay in the game.
  16. The FO already kicked Devers in the balls by getting Bregman. They should not have made it so public that they asked him to play 1B. They painted him in a very bad light probably to justify ousting him.
  17. A guy who produces like Devers gets leeway to be a jerk. Manny was a jerk his entire career. I would put him in my lineup any day. If Giants fans don’t like 30 bombs in their lineup because he didn’t want to be pinch run for, they are the dopes. edit: there was no evidence that Devers had issues until Breslow pulled the rug out on him. He didn’t become a cancer overnight without provocation.
  18. Sure, Breslow handled the situation just perfectly.
  19. I see that you have gassed up the cherrypicker.
  20. And did the Red Sox give him away mid-season in his prime?
  21. Was Manny ever happy in Boston? Idc about their happiness. He was OPS ing over .900 at the time of the trade. And I never had an inkling of his unhappiness in Boston until Breslow jerked him around and replaced him as the 3B with no prior communication.
  22. How unhappy was Devers in Boston? He was OPSing over .900 at the time Breslow paid to give him away.
  23. Contreras had the head case label long before Breslow botched the 3B situation with Devers. And Devers is a superior hitter. His numbers will be there at the end of the season.
  24. His career OPs is .849 and he hits 30 bombs a year and is still only 29. We replaced him with a 34 year old head case who is not Devers hitting equal. How many times did Devers get ejected while a Red Sox? Contreras has his own circus that he brings.
  25. Didn’t DD do exactly that with a 20 year old Devers in 2017?
