    The everyday lineup has been doing its job for the last month and they will hit even better the rest of the way. The problem will be a lack of any consistent pitching after good Buch and ER. The big defect in this team is the pitching and that will not fix itself. If they don't start fixing it now, they will have to address it in the offseason, good Buch gets to walk in the offseason toile it even more challenging.

    I am shocked that any Red Sox fan would risk enduring more garbage performance at the hands of Cherington. FO personnel is fungible. There is no unique talent involved in being a GM. Time to change horses.

    Cherington is awful. He needs to go because he is awful and JH doesn't want to finish last again. It doesn't matter what the fan base thinks.

    He is a pretty big guy, so I think his power will develop. I'd project him topping out at 15-20 in a few years. I don't see him as a big home run guy.

    If that were to happen, that shouldn't get factored in at all. You wouldn't know if he would have been a star or a bust. Other than an act of god or unforeseen injury, they should get graded on the players that make it to the bigs and those who wash out.

    Mookie is a much better defender than Ellsbury? I don't see that, and I doubt the metrics would back that up. If you wanted to say that about Bradley, I could see that.

    He wasn't well-liked-- he had an arrogant way. That might be the reason ro it could be lots of other reasons. GMs tend to move around the league, but if you manage to get fired, getting rehired is not that easy. I wouldn't give the rumor/innuendo any credibility, becasue of how long it took him to get back. He might have been offered positions at franchises that didn't interest him etc. After working for the Red Sox, most other jobs are a big step down.

    LOL! Are you really paranoid if they are out to get you? I never believe any of that rumor or innuendo which always coincidently shows up in the press after the Red Sox part ways with someone.

    Imo, he has to take the risk if he wants any chance of keeping his high paid cushy job. I we stay where we are, maybe he can get Dan Duquette's job that he had during his exile. If you remember Duquette had to buy his own ticket to watch the 2004 Red Sox win the World Series. He was in exile for about 10 years and he never finished last, never mind 3 times.

    Miley and Buch haven't been that bad.... Buch is in control for two more years on the cheap.......... can he continue is the question.... I thought this was a contract year for Buch.

    The trade deadline will be too late. If they wait until then, they will be sellers.

    I still care. It's baseball and the Red Sox. We still care. Does the FO care enough to get this season back on track? If so, you need to make some moves! Ben, try to save your job. It is really easy to replace a FO suit, and when you are gone, you will have trouble getting yourself arrested-- no more free travel, free meals etc. and no one will come if you call a press conference. Do something Ben.

    We are wasting time thinking he can be a useful starter. The organization needs to move on from its mistakes.

    Nice win today. Our offense did a good job beating one of the top 2 or 3 pitchers in the league. I am not convinced that Masterson can be consistently good. Tampa's offense is a bunch of pea shooters, no punch at all.

    I keep reading about our bright future, and I am enjoying watching Betts and XB and Swihart. They look like solid major league players. On the pitching side of the ledger, ER is exciting and I am interested in seeing Johnson, but other than them and Owens, I don't think we have a lot of good young arms coming down the pike. We seem to suck at drafting and developing pitchers.

    5 runs against Archer is a very good job by the offense. Their D didn't give away anything.
