  1. Price pitched an excellent game. He did the job of an ace, and it will be up to the pen to hold this slim 1-0 lead. I guess the Price-Slasher went to bed early and didn't see it.
  2. I doubt that this is a pleasure trip.
  3. Every conference with a pitcher even those only by the catcher or infielders should count as one of the 2 visits. I am sick of catchers making numerous trips to the mound to discuss signals etc.
  4. All of Sox top brass have made the west coast trip. I wonder if they are interested in acquiring a player from a west coast team.
  5. Ace gets out of the jam.
  6. Another example of managers overdoing the shift.
  7. Koji may be done for the season. More bad news.
  8. Duffy has been a big disappointment for the Giants this season.

Go Red Sox!
  10. He was a highly touted prospect when he came up with the Red Sox. He was a slick fielder. My recollection is that his offensive game never developed due to a horrific beaning by Nolan Ryan. RIP Dude Griffin.
  11. There is no need for that.
  12. texting while on the way to the Met game. I might have missed that.
  13. And your solution to signing Price is to rage until he performs? if anger makes you feel better, go ahead and vent. You seem to have a big problem with the size of his contract. When I watch a game, I don't think of the players finances, because I can't relate to that, and it is more enjoyable for me if I don't think about it. i choose to remain hopeful about Price. I also chose to have some perspective about him. If Porcello had a first season like Price is having, it would have been a career norm and no one would have been upset. This is below Price's career norms, but not enough to jump off a ledge. You are free to jump if you want especially since the salary really has you upset.
  14. He was a disaster last year if he was getting paid league minimum. Try to be objective.
  15. Price isn't going to the bullpen. We are going to have to live with him in the rotation for better or worse. If Price doesn't improve, DD can still make this team a strong contender by strengthening the bullpen and adding another starter. Whether Price improves or not, he is not a problem that the FO can fix. Only Price can do that. And I expect that he will stop the bleeding tonight and pitch like vintage Price. As for anyone being all right with Price having a lousy first year, how the f*** do you come to that conclusion. We are just observing a pattern of pitchers that come to Boston. Is there something to that pattern who knows. But no one is okay with it and no one is making excuses for him. I do expect him to right his ship, because he is healthy and very talented. That isn't an excuse. Send him hate mail if you want since you are consumed with hating him, but stop cursing in caps.
  16. This is why knuckleball pitchers are annoying:
  17. His bat would be a nice addition.
  18. I am not sure that the numbers would indicate that Price is our best road pitcher, but I am pretty sure that his road record is better than his record at Fenway. Maybe it is a good situation for Price to be our stopper.
  19. I am as you know very indifferent to all baseball executives and management. With Theo, I have the additional issue/confusion about him voluntarily walking away from his dream job with his favorite team. i just can't understand or relate to that at all.
  20. Shields with 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball against the crosstown rival Cubs. LoL@ the Cubs.
  21. Theo Epstein = Overpaid suit who is interchangeable with any other baseball suit. Curt Schilling = A sports hero who got the job done in the biggest spots under the most intense pressure. So yeah, you got it right.
  22. Farrell waited for 8 runs before giving Wright the hook. That was much too long, and I agree that he waited too long with Ross.
  23. My at the game mojo is on a 2 game slide. This is pathetic how many games we have lost where we have scored 8 or more runs. What was the explanation for Wright's horrendous outing --- too humid. Do we need to have a controlled environment for him to be effective. He can't pitch in the rain. He can't pitch in humid weather. WTH! Also, if you check my posts from spring training, I was very concerned that Hanley would have trouble with pop ups and that it would bite us at some point in the season. Tonight he made a whopper of a misplay. There was no wind or anything. I realize that he did not touch the ball. He missed it by 5 feet, but how was that not an error.
  24. The telltale sign that we are getting to Pelfrey will be when he starts licking himself. I am bringing at the game mojo.
  25. Tough loss. Verlander is tough to beat.
