  1. This could be his last inning. We might see Kelly next inning. The fans in the Monster seats might see a lot of action before the night is over.
  2. Did you have to do this after we lectured Thunder?
  3. Tonight Pomeranz looks like the guy that i have been following in SD.
  4. Good pitching. keep Miggy to a single and get the DP ball.
  5. Just my opinion, but i would never do it -- never trade an everyday star ballplayer for a pitcher.
  6. Teams with a big market and resources of the Cubs and the Red Sox should never have to do a full tear down and rebuild.
  7. Then you read me wrong. i would like the idea of getting Chapman if I were a Cubs fan, but it was an obvious overpay. Theo is a terrible negotiator. The deal for Kimbrel was for 3 years -- not a 2 month rental -- and you thought that was an overpay. How would compare the 2 moves?
  8. Especially after the 2 last place finishes and a 5th place finish (thanks to the Astros being in the NL). He managed to lose 101 games in one of the years. In the Cubs long rotten history, they had lost 100 + games only 2 other times -- 1962 and 1966. In the three year stretch, from 2012 -2014, the Cubs lost 286 games -- more than any other 3 year period in their history.
  9. He could have outlasted Lucchino. He walked. He is listed as a jerk in my thick Book of Jerks.
  10. Sure the Cubbies have a monster to feed -- Theo's Ego.
  11. I agree. Chapman was a redundancy for the skanks. Miller and Betances are enough to hold down the back of the pen.
  12. I just think that he is a jerk for walking out on the Red Sox.
  13. oh. I thought he was younger. Maybe I mixed him up with Bogey.
  14. He was a train wreck defensively
  15. He was at least 2 years younger than Benintendi.
  16. Or just because it is the Cubs and they are run by the "flat-leaving" Theo.
  17. The everyday player can affect 150-160 games -- a pitcher can only effect 30-33 games.
  18. The cone of silence has descended over his rehab.
  19. When is Young due back?
  20. Most of them are dopey at best. The two World Series managers last season -- Collins and Yost can't chew gum and walk at the same time. Unless the manager is tearing apart a team's morale, they don't matter very much. The players seem to be responding to Farrell, so there is no reason for him to go right now. He should probably wear a helmet in the dugout to protect his 2 brain cells. Proof positive to me of the pervasive stupidity of managers is the copycat mentality that has led to overshifting on .220 hitters who get themselves out -- thus giving one of their squibs or pop flies a chance at being a hit.
  21. This is year 5 of his tenure-- 3 last place finishes and still no division title. He wants to lock it down and getting to the WS will not be easy this season even if they win the division.
  22. Theo has never been good at negotiations.
