    It wouldn't matter to me because those 5-7 years will not start until 2021. The major league team needs to improve its starting pitching and waiting until 2020 and 2021 to improve it. We can thank Ben and to an extent Theo for the sorry ass state of our pitching.

    That is still too much for him. He has never been a workhorse. That was not going to change at age 41.

    i want them to sell and cash on their chips on this season. If they pick up a starter and their rotation starts doing a better job, they have a damn scary bullpen. They are within striking distance. We have not put them away yet. I don't declare them dead until they have stopped breathing and then are shot twice in the head.

    Taz cannot handle closing. He has spit the bit whenever he has been given the opportunity. He doesn't like the role

    80? Wow! It was almost a certainty that he would break down. He has rarely exceeded 50 innings in a season, even when he was younger.

    Moncado is stuck behind Pedroia at second base. He is blocked at SS by Bogaerts, and even if he could play the OF, he is blocked by Betts and Bradley. Unless he can play 3B, he doesn't have any position for a few years. Either him or Benintendi could be a nice juicy chip to net us a TOTRS.

    Cubs couldn't score in the 9th inning after loading the bases with no one out. Kris Bryant hit into a DP to end the game. LOL@ the Cubs who are still the Mets Bitches.

    I remember him asking for a trade more than once.

    My recollection is that manny had asked for a trade, got booed for it and then was benched for a couple of days up to the trading deadline, and then he had a change of heart on the Trading Deadline date.

    There were at least two seasons where Manny pulled minor work stoppages before the Trading Deadline and was rumored to have asked for a trade. I remember that he was held out of a game played on the Trading Deadline. Everyone expected that he would be traded, but 4:00 came and went and Manny PH to a nice ovation. I could be mis-remembering, but I don't think so. In one off season the Red Sox put him on irrevocable waivers because h was not happy with Boston, but there were no takers for his long term deal at $20 million/year.

    Half year pitchers like Buch are not worth a straight prorate of a full season pitcher. An additional discount has to be applied to take into account the cost of replacing the other half of the season -- costs in salary, plus prospects and other players traded to acquire the replacement. Buch has cost us a f*** TON as someone posted yesterday.

    Manny wanted out of Boston at some point every season. That would pass and he would continue producing like a wrecking ball.

    i think it will depend on whether the investigation reveals that others in the Cardinal organization knew about the hack. If not, and the Cards can convince the investigator that he was a rogue employee, the punishment may not be so severe.
