I will be happy with a split this weekend against the Yankee as that should end their Division hopes. Anything more than a split and I will be jumping for joy. If we lose the first game, TalkSox needs to press MVP into service.
If you don't know how to read me, I will set you straight, but don't tell me what I am saying after I correct you. That's annoying.
Porcello has had trouble with the HR ball since we got him. He gave up a fair # last year too. That is his Achilles heel. And I will make sport of that. Humor is good. Mentioning that doesn't equate to him having a bad night. In the inning when he had the bases loaded, I said nothing negative. I said that he would have to get tough to get out of it. I also bemoaned that it would be nice if one of those groundballs were hit at someone. None of that is a criticism.
No, I have not. Show me a single post where I said that he was having a bad start. He has followed the blueprint of what I have always said that he needs to do to be successful, i.e. keep the ball in the park and not allow multiple HRs or multiple run HRs. Re-read my posts.
Get a grip Maxie, the thread has not been that critical of Porcello, and no one has said that he is having a bad game. He needs to work out of trouble here after getting the lead, but Farrell doesn't trust him to do it.
I didn't throw him under the bus this game at all. I have always said that if he can keep it to 1 HR, he should win the game. If he gives up a couple, we should still compete, but when he gives up 3 or he allows 10 plus hits, we are toast.
If we win tonight, and split with the Yankees over the weekend, the Division is ours. Of course, one thing we have bee good at is resurrecting the Yankees.
