Do we go out and land a big starter as a rental if it will only get us to a 1 game elimination crap shoot? I don't think so, and after this weekend, the division could start slipping out of reach.

Thank you. I just wanted to use the ban smilie.

I agree. We haven't had any injuries of any duration or note to our starting pitchers. We are where we are, because our pitching sucks. Injuries are not the reason for this teams performance--- not even in the equation.

Pineda was supposed to be their #3 starter. He's out for the year. Joba almost amputated his foot on a trampoline. They don't count? We need to stop whining about injuries. Every team gets them, and even when the Yankees have more injuries than the Red Sox, they find a way to beat us.

Will the White Sox take him too? I doubt it.

Every team has injuries. The Yankees have them this season and most other seasons, but yet they keep accumulating division titles. We were spoiled by 2007? I don't know how you can get spoiled by one division title in 17 years.

Speaking of blabber, what were those predictions of mine? You don't know, do you, because you have always been about taking shots and blabbering. Please don't quote this guy when he has responded to me. Every once in a while I get the urge to respond to is blabber.

and there will be 360 million excuses. Many people, like yourself, saw the flaws in this team before the season started.

I am pretty sure that the Angels swept us in 2009.

It is a measure of power-- a nice thing to have in a lineup. Plus, he is a better hitter than Sweeney besides the HRs. Plus, he is faster and he has a better arm than Sweeney. So, tell me what you like about the trade?

A few comments on last night's game: If the Sox can't pick up ground while playing teams like the A's and the Mariners, they have no chance of mounting a challenge for the ALE division title. Dice K was red herring from day one of this season. They made the fans look forward to his coming back, and we forgot that he has stunk for the 3 prior seasons. I have to laugh at Remy saying that Gonzo is red hot with his hitting streak. I have to laugh about Remy's comment that Gonzo has used every part of the field during his hitting streak. But he hasn't hit any outfield walls, and he only hit 1 ball over a wall. The team and the announcers are starting to make excuses for losing to inferior teams by praising the opponents pitching etc. The fact that Salty is batting cleanup in front of Gonzo in July demonstrates what a disappointment Gonzo has been even during this so-called hot streak.

They can get one of the Wild Card spots to play one and out, but who the hell cares. When the hell is this team going to start winning some divisions titles?
  17. a700hitter
Ans. The 2nd inn. I said early on that Dice K was a red herring. He's a name on the roster and in the rotation, but he fills no purpose. DFA him. Get a real pitcher here. This guy has been dogshit since 2008. We are into the 4th year of dogshit. Enough is enough.:thumbdown

Moss better than Kalish. We will not get 4 off Parker and Dice K is not finished.
  19. a700hitter
    Podsednik > Kalish
  20. a700hitter
    By what inning?
  21. a700hitter
All that matters is how it turns out. On another topic, Kalish conyinues to have a steel glove. Get Podsednik back up.

Yep, you could see it coming. Now, they may have acquire a veteran that will cost more than we got for Youk.

This is a good summary of how the Sox got where they are and their prospects for the rest of the season.
