  1. Gonzo is on pace for 12 Home Runs. That is unfathomable to me. In 62 AB's, a 41 year old Jim Thome has 5 HRs.
  2. We have been in their bullpen since the 3rd inning. We should be pummeling them.
  3. WMB cannot layoff the 1st pitch with the game on the line.
  4. I thought Nava was going to play that into a triple.
  5. Ridiculous that they built a ballpark with a train in the outfield. Why not put a drawbridge in the infield. Really nice play by Aviles
  6. The coaching staff is faster.
  7. 7th inning is hardly a big pressure inning. Maybe Bobby V wanted to get an inning out of him before he had to go to the late inning pressure guys in the 8th and 9th.
  8. If Melancon wasn't a bum, the inning would be over.
  9. Melancon is almost completely useless. He should be the last option out of the bullpen.
  10. The other night people were clamoring for this pig instead of Atch. Melancon stinks.
  11. I do suspect that something phony business is going on.
  12. He doesn't have great speed.
  13. it was a nice return from his strained labia.
  14. He's a slug on the bases.
  15. It is one thing not to score off King Felix, but not scoring off tonight's collection of pukes is ridiculous.
  16. Thome can still hit the long ball at a very good rate.
  17. Baseball is my #1 sport. Nothing comes close for me. i think baseball players are probably the most highly skilled players of any sport. However, I have seen the sport change. One of the changes is that players expect to be fully healed before they return to play. Almost every season there is a key QB or RB that slaps on a flak jacket and plays half a season with broken ribs. The difference in my opinion is that the NFL players don't have guaranteed contracts. The broken ribs are just as painful for them and the NFL is even more physically demanding than MLB.
  18. I would not go to a 6 man rotation. That would change the way they are conditioned. If 1 of the 6 gets injured and they have to go back to 4 days rest, they would all suffer.
  19. The things we do for the women we love.
  20. Sometimes guys get injured because they play recklessly, not because they are made of glass. it takes them too long coming back, because of their agents and the amount of money invested in the players has resulted in them becoming girlie men. I don't limit this to Ellsbury. It is the state of baseball today. A bunch of girlie men.
  21. Multiple concussions? He's had two -- from running head first into fences and walls. Also, Bay did average over 150 games per year for 6 years straight before going to the Mets. He and Ellsbury are now oft-injured players. Until they get their asses on the field and play some full seasons. That is an apt description.
  22. I wonder if NESN has signed his daughter for the remainder of the season to do player interviews? DMac probably passes thru waivers and gets reassigned to Pawtucket. We have probably not seen the last of him.
  23. I don't know if it was a racist remark, but it was certainly inaccurate. I read that his father's side of the family is drunken Irish and his mom's side of the family are cheap jews.
