  1. Is that the measure of QB greatness... Super Bowl titles? I don't think so. I'd have to make a list to see where Brady would fall, but there are a number of guys ahead of him. Let's not forget that he plays in an era where there are a ton of rules protecting QBs and wide receivers.
  2. It reminds me of all the excuses that Laker fans used to make for that loser Wilt the Stilt in comparisons to Bill Russell. Wilt was so much better, but he always lost to the Celtics.
  3. I didn't look at these numbers. It looks like great research. IMO, the guy is just throwing the s*** out of the ball in these multi-inning outings.
  4. They were such a horrible team that neither Boston nor the state of Massachusetts wanted to be associated with them.
  5. To me it does. The history means something. The original franchises are the NFL. Everyone else is expansion. The same goes for baseball. The Mets are 50 years old this season, but they are still watered down expansion to me. The Patriots were for many years the koke of an upstart league. Total laughing stocks. Less interesting than the Saints. I could never root for them.
  6. The Rams? They were a transplanted franchise-- still not an original franchise.
  7. and that's who they beat-- watered down expansion garbage except for the Eagles. When they play original NFL teams like the Bears and the Giants, they lose, because they come from an inferior league.
  8. The Patriots are a bull s*** AFL team that got merged into the real league. They played at colleges when they started and didn't have a their own stadium. They were the biggest joke in the sport for too many years for me to think of as anything other than a team from the inferior upstart league.
  9. Exactly, how did I miss the good will?
  10. I'm a NY Giants fan. Nothing matters here aside from the Red Sox.
  11. I can live with that.
  12. With CC and Pettitte on the shelf, it will be interesting to see the Yankees rotation when they come to Boston for a 4 game ste next weekend, especially since Saturday Is a double header.
  13. Pump this ugly skinny wreck full of acid blockers and acid reducers, get his blood levels back to normal and get his ass back on the mound. He was our best pitcher for the last couple of weeks before he blew out his stomach.
  14. Rentals rarely fetch blue chip prospects. It is likely that these rentals will get a package of ! And 9 type prospects. I asked the question the other day, but no one responded. I am interested in. knowing when there has been a trading deadline trade and sign of a player in his walk year. I can't remember any. I think it would be silly for a star pitcher to sign at the trading deadline when there are only a few months to go to free agency.
  15. They have Pence and Victorino in their OF where would both Ross and Nava fit on the Phillies?
  16. Benny should forget about Hamels. That is not going to happen. the Phillies are not ready to throw in the towel. They are priming to make a run. He should look at the Cubs for Garza or Dempster. He'll be making a mistake if he thinks he has lots of other options.
  17. As a mental health professional, isn't it true that anxiety problems can be managed and often the problems do not recur in a debilitating way. Other times, it does recur but can be managed with medication and therapy to keep a person productive in their lives and careers. The fact that Greinke had a severe or acute bout of anxiety earlier in his life does not mean that he is weak mentally or that he is more susceptible to a debilitating experience with anxiety disorder. And you were wrong about Gio. I don't think the guys traded for him presented a prohibitive price. Gio signed a very reasonable contract extension. He's not making much more money than Bobby Jenks. I thought he was pretty good, but after seeing him at Fenway this season, I realized that i too had underestimated him. I think he will improve over the next several seasons, and he is pretty damn good already. He throws harder than I had thought.
  18. A huge test for Morales going up against King Felix. Hopefully, some King of TalkSox mojo can help. King Felix vs. King of TalkSox-- Mano a Mano with some help from Francklin Morales and the Red Sox.
