  1. With the emergence of Morales and now Cook, Cherries isn't going to do a thing.
  2. I don't think a single poster has tried to discredit his record... not a single one.
  3. Unitas would have stared at Brady and after he stammered and pissed himself, he would have passed out. Comparing that girlie man to Johnny U is laughable.
  4. An evil spirit must have invaded my keyboard. I don't think that was me.
  5. Brady is Football's Derek Jeter-- over-exposed, adored and revered by the press, and over rated.
  6. Not only weren't their careers over, but because they are such pampered prisses, their sitting out and getting daily massages and therapy has kept the career of DMac alive and well, and they also helped extend Marlon Byrd's career. I'm grateful for that. Aren't you? Edit: Yaz would have played, and those two bums would have had to pack their crap and go pump gas somewhere. No one should have to pay hard earned money to see either of those bums play.
  7. That's better. I don't single out Theo. I have a uniform disdain for all FO personnel.
  8. You mean getting this guy to be a lefty specialist with no thought to him being a starter was a great Theo move? This would be like giving the GM credit for the field coach figuring out that the team mascot mule could kick field goals.
  9. I just noticed that Mark Prior is on the 7 DL in Pawtucket. What a shocker!!!
  10. I think our OF has a lot of decent spare parts, none of who can bring back much of anything in a trade.
  11. I love how the optimists are as reactionary as anybody. This loss isn't on Atchison, Bobby V, Salty or WMB. Atchison has been great all year. You don't need someone who misses bats if you hand them the ball to start an inning. If he came in with men on base, it would be a different story. Atch has been money all season long. He's been every bit as reliable as Padilla-- maybe more so. People who wanted Melancon, because it was a pressure situation are you kidding me? He hasn't done very well in pressure spots this year. We lost because we faced one of the top pitchers in baseball in his prime and we faced him with half of our regular lineup and one of our biggest guns has been in a season long slump. We hit one ball hard all night long- Ortiz's single in the 9th. You don't deserve to win when you don't score. To those who said the Mariners didn't deserve to win, are you kidding me? If Morales wasn't continuing to be the surprise of the Red Sox season, this game would have probably been lost in the first inning, because our other pitchers can't seem to help but give up runs in the first inning. Morales looks like an overpowering starter and he pitched magnificently. He could only go 7 innings. Felix pitched even better and went the distance. Seattle deserved the win and the Red Sox had no goats.
  12. I didn't even bother to look it up until after he swung at that first pitch. As SFF pointed out, he is a rookie. These are growning pains, but keep in mind that our insurance against a prolonged slump by WMB or an injury to Gonzo is Punto. I guess they were afraid that Youk would set the clubhouse on fire or worse yet, he might break out some chicken and beer. But then again, how could we pass up Lilli-Buchholz and Zack Stewart.
  13. No, it has nothing to do with clutch. He jiust sucks this year in all situations. That's why hew is not even hotting in the top half of an injured lineup.
  14. Can't win with no runs. We had our chance in the 9th. Felix was on the ropes getting gassed and WMB swings at the first f***ing pitch. Stupid kid.
