  1. If Iggy goes 10 for 10 before Wednesday, they will still put him on the Pawtucket shuttle.
  2. We could do worse than having Drew play SS for us. He is a known quantity. There is no Drew mystery (I resisted saying Nancy Drew Mystery-- no I didn't). I am interested in seeing what Iggy has. He is not a known quantity.
  3. I wonder if there is any possibility that Napoli catches some interleague games to let Ortiz play first. If not, Napoli will probably sit against righties if they think Ortiz heel can withstand playing first base.
  4. I said that the money will win. I agree that Drew will play when able, and Iggy will get the bus ticket to Pawtucket. I am not sure where you have a disagreement with what I posted. I would never have signed Drew. I am on record that this was a season to see what we have with some of our more ripe prospects. Is that where you disagree... about the signing?
  5. Once Iggy gets sent down, it's a dead issue. They can't bring him back up for 10 days.
  6. I wanted Iggy to get his opportunity in 2013, but the team invested $8 million in Drew. The money always wins.
  7. I am betting that he misses at least 4 starts. He was supposedly pretty sore after the game. Putting a pitcher on the mound to give max effort after getting a muscle strain in his arm is not something that you do right after the pain goes away.
  8. My guess is that Carp leaves when Ortiz comes back.
  9. Wow!! 3 bombs and a double-- that's a good week of work.
  10. Oh, so it was just sophomoric mocking of Jung's spelling.:dunno:
  11. Last year, he was lights out. I don't think anyone could realistically expect that kind of performance again.
  12. $9 million that could have been better spent elsewhere.
  13. Knuckleballers are known to be very inconsistent from year to year and Dickey didn't find whatever he found until his mid-30's. However, I still think that he and Josh Johnson will be more valuable to the Jays this year than Happ.
  14. Morse hit his 5th Homer today. This guy has been on a tear.
  15. Slight ankle sprain.
  16. I watched a lot of Victorino with the Phillies. The guy is a terrific outfielder. IMO, he is clearly our best fielding OFer.
  17. True, No one is better at it than me. It's in my DNA. MVP is a mere pretender when he tries to be a prick. On another note, he also clearly can't play nice even when our Sox are up 8-0 early in a game. It's quite pathetic that his first post in the game thread is a lame attempt at being a prick.
  18. That wasn't the Dickey trade. I love how when you try to be a prick that you fail miserably.
  19. Go find the posts. I think the Jays made a good trade and had an excellent offseason. I still think so. None of the prospects they traded are starting in the majors and the best prospect they traded was trapped behind Arencebia. I didn't bitch about not getting Dickey, but I did bitch about getting Dempster for the same money. I still think Dempster for $26 million was a bad deal.
  20. 7-0 Tito should tell Gibbons about the 7-run rule.
  21. Dickey was lights out last year and not at all inconsistent.
  22. Players want to play. I'm sorry Pal, but the manager has to protect the players against themselves and sometimes he needs to protect the team from a pitcher having an off day who want to stay in the game. This is a big part of the manager's job. You can't just make out the lineup card and then sit on your hands.
  23. What a start! I have fond memories of blowing teams away early from the glory days.
  24. This is the fastest start that we have ahd in years.
