  1. Yes, but he said "or" very lucky. He didn't say which was the case. So, what is your point? As for giving Cherries credit for anything, it is a little early for that being that we are a mere 7 games into the season. I think it is okay to reserve judgmebt on him at this point. If you want to nominate him for GM of the year 7 games into the season, go right ahead. I will wait to see how this plays out. I'll wait to see how our pitching depth options perform as the injuries happen and starts are missed, etc. before I pass judgment on Cherries performance.
  2. Read the first line. He acknowledges that he might not be dumb.
  3. It's like San Francisco east but without the hills and cable cars.
  4. He's as crazy as Julian Tavares was but not in an amusing or quirky way-- more in a scary way.
  5. I am amazed at how people can't enjoy winning without being confrontational with fellow Sox fans. It's amazing to me. I thought winning would bring harmony, but apparently there are malcontents who can't even enjoy success.
  6. Oh pish posh. He humiliates himself quite regularly. Almost every attempt of his to be a snarky prick is lame and full of incorrect premises, recollections, intepretations, etc.
  7. Anyone who has been here for any length of time understands where Doji is coming from. He thinks outside the box and has some different ideas. Sometimes he gets a bit carried away, but who doesn't from time to time? He's been right about quite a few players and moves throughout the years. There's no cause to subject him to ridicule.
  8. This is a bold prediction. It would be great to see him do it.
  9. What's going on? U.N. has no problems with posters other than SBF... right?
  10. I think that it is way too early to make a conclusion about this group. Most of them have had only one start thus far. I am sure that several of the newly acquired pitchers around baseball will have positive impacts on their 2013 teams. As for Harang, he has been a 5 inning pitcher for several years already with little success. I don't like his prospects with us. Has anyone signed Freddie Garcia? Even with his diminished stuff, he has consistently shown that he can give his team a chance to win. That's all you can ask of a depth option. Hopefully, Aceves can do that for us at aleast as well as Julian Tavarez did in 2007.
  11. We have not had al of our starters make all of their starts since 2004. It was only a matter of time before our depth options got called upon. Too often in past years we have had 1or 2 black holes in our rotation for a month or two or longer-- guys who don't even give you a chance of winning. That is devastating to a team, because the remaining starters are in a postion where they have to win nearly every start.
  12. Aceves will get his shot. My fingers are crossed.
  13. He got squeezed big time on the first 2 pitches to the last batter.
  14. The kid just hit the game-winning HR on Opening Day. How should a Red Sox fan feel about him? Of course, I am loving the kid. He has the heart of an All Star that is overcoming his minor league talent. Love his heart and his effort.
  15. It would be nice to get a run here to give Buch a chance at a win, and get me some fantasy points.
  16. At some point, everyone will tire of our base runners being sent to their deaths by Farrell and the 3rd base coach, Butterball. The Jays running game was completely demented for the last 2 years.
  17. If they DFA him to make room for Drew, they have 10 days to make a deal for him. We'd run the risk of losing him for nothing.
  18. 2 for 1 hot dogs and kids eating free was not enough to get through 2 games. That's what happens when you charge the highest prices in the sport and come in last place for the first time in 47 years (when the highest price ticket was $3.50).
  19. When Ortiz comes back, Iggy would still have to go, and Drew might be rusty if Iglesias is playing in front of him.
  20. Do they cut Ciriaco for this to happen?
  21. That's right. The only thing we can do is disagree and discuss.
  22. It would surprise me if it was only two starts. He's probably not going to be allowed to throw long toss for a few days. I would imagine that they will have him throw a simulated game before they put him back out on the mound. They are calling it bicep tendonitis. They need to make sure that all of the inflammation is gone.
  23. I agree. That would be the best approach, but they may choose a cautious road with Ortiz so the heel doesn't flare up. I don't like our lineup with Ortiz and Napoli sitting on the same say so Napoli will have to play every interleague game if Ortiz can't take the field. I don't see Nava at 1B in interleague games.
