  1. We have not had al of our starters make all of their starts since 2004. It was only a matter of time before our depth options got called upon. Too often in past years we have had 1or 2 black holes in our rotation for a month or two or longer-- guys who don't even give you a chance of winning. That is devastating to a team, because the remaining starters are in a postion where they have to win nearly every start.
  2. Aceves will get his shot. My fingers are crossed.
  3. He got squeezed big time on the first 2 pitches to the last batter.
  4. The kid just hit the game-winning HR on Opening Day. How should a Red Sox fan feel about him? Of course, I am loving the kid. He has the heart of an All Star that is overcoming his minor league talent. Love his heart and his effort.
  5. It would be nice to get a run here to give Buch a chance at a win, and get me some fantasy points.
  6. At some point, everyone will tire of our base runners being sent to their deaths by Farrell and the 3rd base coach, Butterball. The Jays running game was completely demented for the last 2 years.
  7. If they DFA him to make room for Drew, they have 10 days to make a deal for him. We'd run the risk of losing him for nothing.
  8. 2 for 1 hot dogs and kids eating free was not enough to get through 2 games. That's what happens when you charge the highest prices in the sport and come in last place for the first time in 47 years (when the highest price ticket was $3.50).
  9. When Ortiz comes back, Iggy would still have to go, and Drew might be rusty if Iglesias is playing in front of him.
  10. Do they cut Ciriaco for this to happen?
  11. That's right. The only thing we can do is disagree and discuss.
  12. It would surprise me if it was only two starts. He's probably not going to be allowed to throw long toss for a few days. I would imagine that they will have him throw a simulated game before they put him back out on the mound. They are calling it bicep tendonitis. They need to make sure that all of the inflammation is gone.
  13. I agree. That would be the best approach, but they may choose a cautious road with Ortiz so the heel doesn't flare up. I don't like our lineup with Ortiz and Napoli sitting on the same say so Napoli will have to play every interleague game if Ortiz can't take the field. I don't see Nava at 1B in interleague games.
  14. If Iggy goes 10 for 10 before Wednesday, they will still put him on the Pawtucket shuttle.
  15. We could do worse than having Drew play SS for us. He is a known quantity. There is no Drew mystery (I resisted saying Nancy Drew Mystery-- no I didn't). I am interested in seeing what Iggy has. He is not a known quantity.
  16. I wonder if there is any possibility that Napoli catches some interleague games to let Ortiz play first. If not, Napoli will probably sit against righties if they think Ortiz heel can withstand playing first base.
  17. I said that the money will win. I agree that Drew will play when able, and Iggy will get the bus ticket to Pawtucket. I am not sure where you have a disagreement with what I posted. I would never have signed Drew. I am on record that this was a season to see what we have with some of our more ripe prospects. Is that where you disagree... about the signing?
  18. Once Iggy gets sent down, it's a dead issue. They can't bring him back up for 10 days.
  19. I wanted Iggy to get his opportunity in 2013, but the team invested $8 million in Drew. The money always wins.
  20. I am betting that he misses at least 4 starts. He was supposedly pretty sore after the game. Putting a pitcher on the mound to give max effort after getting a muscle strain in his arm is not something that you do right after the pain goes away.
  21. My guess is that Carp leaves when Ortiz comes back.
  22. Wow!! 3 bombs and a double-- that's a good week of work.
  23. Oh, so it was just sophomoric mocking of Jung's spelling.:dunno:
