    Knuckleballers are known to be very inconsistent from year to year and Dickey didn't find whatever he found until his mid-30's. However, I still think that he and Josh Johnson will be more valuable to the Jays this year than Happ.

    I watched a lot of Victorino with the Phillies. The guy is a terrific outfielder. IMO, he is clearly our best fielding OFer.

    True, No one is better at it than me. It's in my DNA. MVP is a mere pretender when he tries to be a prick. On another note, he also clearly can't play nice even when our Sox are up 8-0 early in a game. It's quite pathetic that his first post in the game thread is a lame attempt at being a prick.

    Go find the posts. I think the Jays made a good trade and had an excellent offseason. I still think so. None of the prospects they traded are starting in the majors and the best prospect they traded was trapped behind Arencebia. I didn't bitch about not getting Dickey, but I did bitch about getting Dempster for the same money. I still think Dempster for $26 million was a bad deal.

    Players want to play. I'm sorry Pal, but the manager has to protect the players against themselves and sometimes he needs to protect the team from a pitcher having an off day who want to stay in the game. This is a big part of the manager's job. You can't just make out the lineup card and then sit on your hands.

    WTH were Farrell and Nieves looking at yesterday. On the pitch before his injury, Lackey clearly showed signs of distress, cramping or pain. They should have been out to the mound with the trainer before he threw the next pitch. A little vigilance could have saved Lackey from a lengthy DL stint. In the post game, Farrell admitted to seeing Lackey's reaction on the prior pitch. There's no excuse for him not visiting the mound.

    They have to hope that Aceves can seize the moment. He is the backup plan.

    He was really cruising, throwing nice and easy. He had plenty of innings under his belt in an extended spring training, so he had built arm strength. A post -op pitcher is damaged goods.

    We have to get used to that. Farrell and the third base coach will send a lot of runners to their deaths on the base paths when it just doesn't make sense. They go against the book a lot.

    I agree with you. I get called out hundreds of times a year for my criticisms of the team and management. What is the big deal? Sometimes it gets nasty. If people would keep the discussion to sports things would not escalate. Today's nonsense was totally uncalled for crap. Fred wasn't even posting when they took after him and his wife. Ridiculous and uncalled for.
