  1. Good low cost acqusition.
  2. .275/.380/.435
  3. Not a bad move. I wanted Wilkerson, but he's with Seattle, so it's solid. Also, someone who can play more then one position would've been nice.
  4. Great deal for A's.
  5. Right now, barring any more signifigant moves by the Dodgers and/or the Rockies, the Dbacks are my pick in the West for one main reason: Their lineup will almost definetley improve. There is going to be some regression with Byrnes, but I would expect that Young, Upton and Stephen Drew will all improve. If you add rebounds from those three to a solid core of Hudson, Jackson, Byrnes and Reynolds, the offense looks solid, or at the very least, a whole lot better than last year. Plus, the pitching staff almost certainly will be better with the addition of Haren, thus making them, in my opinion, the team to beat in the West because of the improved offense.
  6. Who cares?
  7. What a great trade for the Nats. Church is solid, but I don't see any value in Schneider when they already have Estrada. Plus, Milledge can still mash, the questions were about his attitude, like ORS said, and his defense in center.
  8. I think that right now, Beane, Theo and Shapiro are 1A, 1B and 1C. Theo is a very, very good GM, but, as others have pointed out already in this thread, he has made some questionable moves in the free agent market over the past couple of years and he also operates under a huge budget. But, as Crunchy said, he made the farm system an asset which is probably the reason why we won the WS last year and he brought in Papi. It would be interesting to see what Theo could do in Beane's or Shapiro's position, and vice versa.
  9. If there are 4 players in the deal, and one of them is not Ellsbury or Buchholz, I can't see the Twins taking Cora instead of Tejada, Anderson or Lowrie. I would be ecstactic if they did, but I just don't think that the Twins would do it.
  10. Lineup 1.
  11. We cannot go into the season with Jed Lowrie as our starting third baseman. He isn't ready (See the .163 AVG in 98 AB's in the AFL and I know that he is working on fielding, but still, .163?). I really like him, but we simply cannot start him at 3B to open the season.
