  1. I think this video sums it up best.
  2. with so many injuries theres not much to really complain about being only a game out of first.
  3. Because if there's one thing the Red Sox need, is to be more like the Yankees.
  4. A lot of credit for Scutaro advancing to second when noticing the outfielder was backpedaling on that fly ball. Little things like that don't show up in the box score but is ultiimately why the Sox won in the 12th right there when they did.
  5. ESPN reporting Red Sox a likely team on getting Harden. Weather he'll be healthy? idk. Could the Red Sox be in Rich Harden's future? ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney speculates in today's blog on whether Harden will be offered arbitration by the Cubs. One NL official tells Buster that Harden will likely have a new home. "He's got 'Red Sox' written all over him ? the Cubs won?t sign him, and the Red Sox will bring him on board for a decent base salary and some incentives," the official said. While Harden wants to remain in Chicago, the reality of his constant health concerns might push him out of the equation. The Chicago Tribune recently quoted manager Lou Piniella on his pitching options for next year: "You look at our starting pitching here for next year," Piniella said. "You've got (Carlos) Zambrano, you've got (Ryan) Dempster, you've got (Randy) Wells, you've got (Ted) Lilly, you've got (Tom) Gorzelanny, and you've got (Jeff) Samardzija, who is going to go to winter ball. And if this kid keeps improving, he'll be right in the mix. So we've got six nice arms." Just speculation, but the rationale is solid. He's a better one year risk than the likes of Penny and Smoltz were.
  6. DIVISION TITLE HERE WE COME
  7. You so witty!
  8. You're right. His slider is above average, but he rarely throws it. Does he have a curveball? I know he has like one other pitch that he rarely throws.
  9. The term was coined until 2001 by Jays manager Buck Martinez "dirt bags." It sparked the infamous BostonDirtDogs.com etc. So heres my Red Sox All Dirt Dog team (2001-2009) 2B Dustin Pedroia RF Trot Nixon 3B Kevin Youkilis 1B Brian Daubach C Jason Varitek SS Chris Stynes LF Gabe Kapler DH Reggie Jefferson CF Darren Lewis Bench - Dave McCarty Bench - Kevin Millar Bench - Carl Everett Bench - Bill Mueller Bench - Doug Mirabelli Bench - Lou Merloni SP1 - Josh Becket SP2 - Tim Wakefield SP3 - Curt Schilling SP4 - David Wells SP5 - Rolando Arrojo RP Middle - Alan Embree RP Middle - Julian Tavarez RP Middle - Mike Timlin RP Long - Hipolito Pichardo RP Set Up - Ugueth Urbina CL - Jonathan Papelbon Manager - Butch Hobson How many games does this team win?
  10. HOW DARE YOU
  11. Trot Nixon Nomar Garciaparra Troy O'Leary Rod Beck
  12. Gonzo for the past, present and future.
  13. its almost impossible for a team to have played 4 fewer games than another that late in the season
  14. http://i15.tinypic.com/4tse23o.gif
  15. it's not even fair.. .paps is straight up filthy
  16. As much as I hate Theo. The team was doing great up until the deadline. There was no urgency to make a deal. It's the teams fault.
  17. I DID NOT COMPARE HIM TO BUFORD AND LEWIS, ONLY AFTER I WAS ASKED TO , DID I COMPARE HIM. I SAID WE CAN GET BY WITHOUT A BIG PRODUCIING CENTERFIELDER. WHY CAN'T YOU LISTEN?!?!
  18. Why do you guys feel the need to put words in my mouth? Is what I said that bad?
  19. I'd give it to Lowell over Schilling.
  20. Why don't we sign Bret Saberhagen and Jeff Fassero while we're at it?
  21. All baseball players have nagging injuries, Coco is not different. If they are healthy enough to produce, they play, if they aren't they don't. It's simple. It's time to stop making excuses for him. He may be a better player than he's shown but unfortunetly he just hasn't shown it for whatever reasons.
  22. It's called getting old and injuries creeping up on him. The year he gained 30 pounds or whatever, a lot of it was him just being a fatass. The guy has selflessly served the orgnization for 10+ years. To insult him is unjustified. He was and still is my favorite player and I will be sad to see him go when his time comes.
