  1. sheffield probably threw a temper tantrum in the clubhouse
  2. yea they used their checkbooks to acquire pavano and johnson, tell me has that helped them any??? pavano last year only had allowed 16 homeruns, already has given up 17. sox took him down in that 17 - 1 defeat at the yankees home. He even leads the majors in hist allowedd, which is so far up to 129. and johnson, he has these spurts of the dominance, and then the lowly d-rays will come into town and he reamian on the mound for just the first three innings. think they should consider bernie williams on the team, routine flyballs are skippin out of his glove like butter, never mind his hitting this year. make a trade offer to the A's for kotsay, bernie williams and some of their prospects with cash considerations also.
  3. thats so brainless to put a new mvp baseball in november/december, the rosters wont look like what they will be next spring, since signings and trades happen through march
  4. actually compared to last year, our record had stood at like 43 - 34, so two games ahead of the pace set last year. july is gonna be a more exciting month, moreso than june cuz all we had faced were interleague teams really. does anybody know when the delayed game of the yanks/orioles will be?
  5. even tho i dont like a-rod that much, i still respect the fact the way that he can hit and drive in runs. its arod rather who is the heart of the offense of the team than sheffield is
  6. yeah they were talking about that in the nesn pre-game report, dennis eckersley saying he heard its mostly because ((no surprise)) sheffield is like a cancer in the locker room and doesnt get along with his players--so far sheffield has been quoted hed rather retire than be traded away from the yankees haha gary i dont think anybody cares
  7. the red sox finished off the month of June record of wins and losses, posting 17 - 9... July will put them to the test... havin to face Toronto, Baltimore 4 game series, Yankees 4 game series, and the dominat AL central white sox for a 4 game series in chicago and minnesota twins eek--we do face 6 games against tampa bay, not much to worry about there tho
  8. tonite baltimore/yankees game is on tonight by the way on espn---good win for sox to get before havin the day off--friday will start the 3 game series againt toronto in fenway, toronto this season have been playing aggressively against the sox, so should be good series, hopefully of course in the sox's favor--i got very good feelin for friday, matt clement will be up there
  9. nice bellhorn, solo shot to follow mirabellis out of the park homerun
  10. id rather much have a bigger lead over the yanks than the orioles. lets face it, orioles are doing right now what they do each season start to slump and get out of contention from the playoffs, so no worries at all of orioles at our heels
  11. sorry dude but i cringe once i hear embree is warming up, a relief pitcher to have an ERA of over 8 halfway thru the season, is just all and all bad
  12. oh i dont know how that would be at all foulke as a starter :what: , bronson will be going to the bullpen anyway to make way for schilling coming back to the starter pitchers rotation, foulke will probably occasionally work a 7th or 8th inning to see if they get him back to the solid stuff he performed last year and especially in october
  13. i wouldve, but according to yezzir, by me posting the first 2 threads its because of me they lost, haha know that was just a joke of course im guessin, it really happened because of the 9th inning the geriatric umpire squeezing keith foulke's strike zone and keith foulke throwing the wrong pitch down and in
  14. hopefully it all works well, ill report back on tuesday or so--buddies and me are goin down tomorrow to connecticut to stay for the wknd, we get to see schilling's 2nd rehab start for the paw sox on monday
  15. When bases were loaded, Francona finally woke up and decided to send Embree to warm up. By then it was too late. what are you talkin about, embree coming in with bases loaded is playing with fire, his ERA has already ballooned up past 8--rather have halamma in there
  16. i dont think sox wouldnt get any offers from teams for embree, even if sox has offered money to them haha--if not a trade possibility, should just option him off of the team into free agency market
  17. it is true about arod visiting the mound when there was a meeting, man he did that in the october playoffs like each time, you play 3rd base arod, you are not the go-to-guy to ask for advice on how to throw a breakin ball or change up
  18. hence gettin rid of vazquez
  19. best one ever was paper the morning after the sox won the pennant, in all caps CHOKE! classic to see
  20. vazquez himself is actin like a minor leaguer at best
  21. seattle's closer guardado and colorado rockies closer brian fuentes will both be on the market--im just confused, 8th and 9th inning our bullpen collapsed
  22. yea im thinking exactly so---theyre saying oh yeah hanley right now is only batting .268 in pawtucket with 2 homeruns 15 RBIs, ok but vazquez up in the big leagues is just batting .200 with 4 runs batted in, and even his defensive plays are off at times
  23. as the red sox near their halfway mark of the 2005 season, its becoming more evident there is a group of players not being able to cut it consistenly, and might be best to thank them for their work and send them on their way. whos more likely to go for the july tradeline? I think its embree, see his ERA now?? dont know how long you can keep him in the bullpen
  24. oh yea about that, nesn pre-game report yesterday was discussions that the mariners are scouting shoppach in pawtucket. seattle willing to trade for shoppach and couple of other players in return sox get guardado
  25. i think trade off ramon vazquez too and move up hanley ramirez to back up for second base/shortstop
