  1. I just think Steinbrenner likes to play with us, everytime there is a hot prospect out by the trade deadlines or at end of season, Boston goes to try to get them, but George takes out his checkbook and gives these guys a blank check. In the recent past its been A-Rod (glad we didnt get him tho), Carl Pavano, Randy Johnson, Beltran who later passed up both teams to go with the Mets though. I wont be surprised if someday soon see Schmidt or AJ Burnett signing a multi-year multi-million dollar contract with them. Yankees by now are desperate enough anyway. Just completed 75th game of the season, and just one game above 500. The Sox would be at 15 games above 500 if able to hold down Cleveland again
  2. yea totally agree, just so happens his contract expires this season along with players i would very much like them to keep: Damon, Mueller, Millar, and Timlin
  3. i cringe when francona calls in embree with a slim lead like yesterdays game, that is just playing with fire and it proved to be right. as embree was responsible for the men on the base when he left, had scored to tie it up. i know tito wants to give him some more playing time, truely though it be best to try and see if any teams want to trade for him, also mantei
  4. who else was thinking by the time two yankees were on for the 9th, it was time to bring out looper? I knew right there when they intentionall walked to get jason giambi next with no outs that they would pay for it. I for one am not concerned just yet about the yankees, because they are still doing that slide of losing games then the next game will be a come from behind victory. Again after that the sloppy play and losses might occur.
  5. and he has hit like that before when several games he was in the #1 and 2 positions, to follow johnny is probably helping him more than follwoing mueller
  6. and another thing xxmcgraw, francona is a 500 manager at best??? could you repeat that again cuz the standings for boston last seaon was 98 - 64, hello that is 34 games above .500--and already this season he has the team at 14 games above 500. Your ex team pitcher Curt Schilling admitted that when Francona managed the team, it was a somewhat mediocre roster through and through. All in all the Phillies got owned for the 3 game sweep, yes they were able to battle back to tie it up, but Boston is best known for their comebacks as of late. I will give you that you play better then the Yankees this season, and thats something :wetodd:
  7. i think maybe its good to keep him in second in batting order if possible, that is. They did a comparison on NESN's post game report, Bellhorn had started in #2 position last season in 98 games and was most productive there hitting 15 of his 17 homeruns
  8. alrite sox are continuing their great stretch, sweeping bothe the Guardians and now the Phillies. Its the 7th straight win for the Sox, and now just need the yanks to lose for them to now be 7 1/2 games behind our boys wow just thin lil over a week ago, the yankees were threatening at 2 games behind us
  9. only relief pitcher that did poor was embree, who was charged for the 3 runs tying the game. putting him in there is playing with fire, and I would be surprised if embree is not traded or even waived off the team
  10. tek you are the man, 2 run shot. See even if you tie up the sox, they are very much so bound to fight back and retake the lead. I totally agree that putting Embree into the beginning of the 7th instead of Timlin, was indeed a risky call, it did prove to be wrong call as he got 3 men on base. all of them scoring. Dont balme entirely for Timlin giving up the 2 other runs. Nice 4 run lead going into the bottom of the 8th tho
  11. realize that, clicked the button twice
  12. omg yes grand slam, manny you are the mannnnn
  13. sorry my bad, all hail the baseball guru
  14. wow go bellhorn, before in last 10 games he just had 3 hits in past 39 at bats--that means in last 39 times of him going up to plate, he has had just 3 hits
  15. lets see to high up the pitch count, that meaans to get the opposing ptcher to throw a lot earllly, hows that?
  16. sox are truely the best team to high up the pitch count of opposing teams
  17. wow go bellhorn, before in last 10 games he just had 3 hits in past 39 at bats
  18. ah yess, i get to see the mets/yanks game tonight on espn at 8, randy is on the mound, not a definite win, cmon the drays battled him and he lost just goin the 1st 3 innings-- so pretty much Go Mets, just think if we win and they los again tonite, that be 7 1/2 games ahead of them, how sweet it is
  19. how about that baserunner for the phils, he tried to take 3rd base from manny, haha
  20. um excuse me how do you know i havent been to games before??? ive bveen to 12 games already and proud of it this season, my buddy's work has season tix, how can you not expect fans of world series champions to not follow them on their road trip
  21. take that your boy stupidly tried to take 3rd base from manny, thats why you boys lose, Phillies suck at baserunning
  22. yea yea excuses, excuses--just pissed cuz his team didnt put much of a fight, while our boys got 4 straight, the last game beinga shutout
  23. oh god, i dont wanna think about that, haha
