He has an 8.70 ERA and has allowed 30 Runs in 30 innings, while allowing 47 Hits for an opposing .353 avg. Maybe sign him to a minor league contract (if he'll accept that) and have him work out any mechanics thats messing him up
Good to see the Sox get this nice 4 game winning streak after Oakland took 3 out of 4. Especially because the next 2 games I have my fingers crossed
Kyle Snyder vs Jamie Moyer
Kason Gabbard vs Felix Hernandez
Wade Miller was a has been for the Sox, I dont even care if he ever comes back to pitch against the Sox. I dont give standing O's to just any player who has worn a Sox uni. Its apples & oranges of what the 2 had contributed
Sorry but I applauded him for the 2nd half he gave the Sox last season. He solidified the 2nd base positon left vacant by the Strikeout King Bellhorn, and was just a spark to the offense
Welcome back Wily Mo
he's picking up where he left off- 2 for 3, Double, 2 RBIs, Walk
And are my eyes being deceived, but the Tek we know seems to be back after the All-Star Break-- 8 for 22, 2 Doubles, 3 RBIs
ouch 2 baserunning gaffes by Loretta. He evens it out by going 3 for 4, his latest hit being a clutch 2 out RBI. His defensive play to save Schilling as well
Ok a good reasoning here

Mike Lowell was going to bat 3rd today, but he came to the park with a stomach virus and was reportedly vomiting. Also on Wakefield: Terry's best assumption is that he'll be out for 4 weeks, 3 at best. Id be surprised if Theo doesnt get a starter through trade
I was at the game and sat behind the visitors dugout. As "schillingouttheKs' mentioned, there was barely any clapping. Me and my friend started to just stand up and cheer out when his name was announced. Sadly we were only ones and people around us were giving us that impression like when in a cartoon, all you can hear is crickets
IMO people put way too much into his error in game 2. White Sox wouldve still beat our boys, they were the better team. Maybe if his error came in the deciding game but it didnt, it came in the 4th inning of game 2. What a hack!! What about Clement setting the tone with the worst start by a Sox pitcher in the ALDS? Wells 1 out later after Graff's error had served up a meatball of a pitch to Iguchi? How about lack of offense, El Duque protecting a 1 run lead and getting out of bases loaded/no outs? At least the Fenway Faithful gave him his due when his name was announced before game 3
He has had 4 bad starts out of his first 20 which has skewed his ERA
9 runs vs Cleveland in 3.2 innings
7 runs vs Toronto in 4 innings
8 runs (7 ER) vs New York in 1.1 inning
7 runs vs Oakalnd in 4.1 innings
Today on WEEI said without those 4 bad starts, he would right now be 12-1 with a 2.99 ERA
Rotoworld writers have a short memory. Mirabelli caught Beckett's game against Chicago, in which he gave up 5 runs on the strength of 3 big-flies. So its not the catcher thats been the problem.
Anyways... Varitek or not behind the plate, this looks like the beginning of Beckett's rebirth this season. Granted it was the Royals but this could be the spark that gets him going. The 3/4 year extension probably will help as well
Pedroia is at shortstop every 3rd day just moreso to be an insurance policy in case a middle infielder goes down this season. He's more than likely to take over the reigns at 2nd base, with Loretta in his age 35 season. Gonzalez is just 30 and is delivering them defense so he has the edge to stay
Its not like Alvarez has been lighting it up in Pawtucket. He has been struggling mightily since he was last sent down, losing his last 6 decisions.
Gabbard's last 2 starts he has rebounded nicely (10.2 innings, 2 runs) after being tossed around in his first 3 starts. In Portland he was down right dominant. Like Alvarez, he's a lefty pitcher. However unlike Alvarez, he is known to be a groundball pitcher and use that gold glove defense behind him. It is too early to call him up but he is the best internal option the Sox have.

I just think that he's going to be out for more than 15 days
Yeah, he sucked today.
Considering that the Sox offense has been struggling this month and have scored 22 runs in the past 7 games... that only helped Mark Redman. Him in the AL East/Playoffs is not a good bet
