  1. He wouldnt settle for that. Ive heard Ken Rosenthal & Gordon Edes both say he's looking for 4 seasons/$40-45 million
  2. Its going to be a bidding war and Ive heard that Scott Boras could be his agent... Could be another Sox/Yanks classic bidding war. Though his stamina is a question, a lot of innings have already been put on that young arm
  3. Seanez's ERA is deceiving as he has been bad in the clutch. He has let 11 of 16 inherited runners to score. Also has a high % of allowing the first batter he faces to get on base. His salary is $2 million, Sox should just cut their losses now. There are better options in the minors than him
  4. We cant yet fully gauge on that trade until Wily Mo is given a starting job with Boston. Him being a platoon partner and on the DL for 2 months is not enough to say that it was a bad trade
  5. How Im feeling with Sox fans on here/radio/abroad clamoring for Theo to trade Dustin Pedroia for a pitcher who maybe will stay for a half season or so. Theo has learned his lesson with Freddy Sanchez, a move he hates himself for
  6. Well this is something that just about never happens, Gordon Edes in his weekly email bag had answered my question http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/askedes/07_21_06/?page=5
  7. He is an ESPN analyst that I actually enjoyed watching. And thats a rarity to find one there :stop:
  8. Still going to be another competitive race through & through Yanks by early September will have Matsui & Sheff rejoining the lineup, making the lineup oh so stronger Sox by early September will have a "set" rotation of Schilling, Beckett, Lester, Wakefield, and Wells. On paper that looks a nice 1 - 5, but it is on paper Sox/Yanks, they cant seem to be apart :dunno:
  9. I love seeing this competitive vibe Schilling & Beckett have going. There is a chance tomorrow (well rather later on today) we could have two 13-game winners in July.
  10. Sox's last 5 starts facing left-handed starting pitcher they are 4-1 ------------------ Damn it, i was being very optimistic about Beckett's next start (Angels at Fenway). But he'll be opposed by the 7-0 phenom Jered Weaver. Onto that subject: Is this a great year for rookie starting pitchers or what? Weaver, Lester, Liriano
  11. Beckett has become the leader in wins with 13. Last season he set a career high with 15. Twenty Wins not that far out of reach, Im expecting a good 2nd half out of him Sox become 3rd team in baseball with 60th win. Hold off Yanks at 2.5 game lead, Blue Jays loss gives them 5.5 lead back
  12. Gonzo, Loretta, and Cora are holding down the fort rather solidly. Let the kid grow in Triple A for remainder of 2006, it cant hurt him any
  13. yes he does get out of his own jams, sometimes, but that is a big reason why the Sox wont convert Paps back to being a starter this season. Plethora of baserunners recently EDIT
  14. Wouldnt that go in our favor? He wasnt expected to be up here but called on the spot, he has delivered with some great results.
  15. well i was hoping he could lower that 4.78 ERA of his, and he did... its now at 4.77
  16. Every AB he has that cocky expression on his face, Id have to restrain myself if I was pitching to him
  17. almost 7-0, but Loretta's sinking ball was caught by Bradley on a slide
  18. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AmfRelhrhFurumgk85iYgvMRvLYF?slug=ap-brooksrobinson-a-rod&prov=ap&type=lgns The great Brooks Robinson comes to A-Rod's defense. He comments on how his flux of errors have come on a bad week, it happens to any good player (very true). Unknown to Brooks however, Arod has had 17 in his last 67 games
  19. Quite the contrary, as Varitek since the Break has been hitting like a #5 hitter should
  20. Eric Karros from ESPN, protecting A-Rod "The Yankee fans are booing him for 2 bad games" theres just been two??
  21. I agree. Him in the AL would become the next Ted lilly, Scott Kazmir, Rodrigo Lopez for the Red Sox. This move is a win-now deal for the Chi Sox, it would be their loss in the end if they let go of him
  22. Belli is really only here because of Wakefield. If Wakefield is moved into the bullpen next year, then yes Doug become expendable
  23. Its not like Kapler has completely been tearing up. He is 0 for his last 12, and 2-16 since the Break. Hoping tonights lineup features Wily Mo. Who knows with Tito and how he can sometimes use that loyalty to past players card, albeit with Kapler being 7 for 25 against Zito. If Theo & the Sox believe Wily Mo is the next right fielder then give him the playing time he was promised
  24. http://mlb4u.com/profile.php?id=887 Mark Loretta does not have an option. With San Diego he had a signed 2 season contract for the 04-05 seasons that included a 2006 option. He will officially be a free agent at the end of the season. The Sox got him to be a solid gap stop who came cheap to set up for Pedroia to take over in 2007.
