  1. J.T. Snow, according to Gordon Edes, has quitely retired And I agree that you shouldnt be attacking Theo for trading away Jay Payton. He was becoming a clubhouse cancer (a la Shea Hillenbarnd) and had a face to face shouting match with Tito. I stand by Theo just ridding themsleves of this "me me" player
  2. Ok im talking about contracts of 4 years or more, $50 million or more. Not one of those players you mentioned exemplifies such a tall order especially Tavarez.
  3. Theo shys away from big contracts, years & money wise. The most he has offered has been to Varitek & Renteria at 4 years/$40 million. Papi stands out alone with his extension of 4 years/$52 million
  4. Yes he is, courtesy of mlb4u.com
  5. As I posted in the "Lugo??" thread, the Devil Rays are closing in on a long term deal with Julio Lugo http://www.tbo.com/sports/rays/MGBN697L4QE.html Pedroia is being deemed as a protypical #2 guy, so he could have that job sometime into 2007. I so far see ahead opening day 2007, maybe Youk & Crisp manning the top of the order. Everything will work itself out
  6. yes Lugo is having a great season, just happens to be in his contract year. Gonzo's avg is currently hovering above .280, but he has been the better hitter (avg wise) since Memorial day wknd. 39 games since May 30, 48 for 147 (.340 avg) 7 Doubles, Triple, 6 HRs, 21 RBIs, 21 Runs, 7 Walks Julio Lugo 47 games since May 30, 60 for 187 (.319 avg) 9 Doubles, Triple, 11 HRs, 22 RBIs, 39 Runs, 23 Walks, 8 SBs
  7. Julio Lugo & the D-Rays are closing in a long term contract. I guess they'll keep Upton at 3rd base then http://www.tbo.com/sports/rays/MGBN697L4QE.html Phew if this does go down, Gonzo's chances of staying in the Hub will go up considerably
  8. Anyone know when was the last time the Sox had an opening day at Fenway Park?
  9. Moss has shown to be a streaky hitter. He would just be a 4th/5th outfielder if he makes it up to Boston. I just see him as a throw-in for a trade
  10. thanks, but no thanks to Phils. Lieber is not that much of a prized pitcher
  11. Todd Walker is being shopped around, mostly as a reserve 1st baseman. Youkilis cant play every day and Loretta as the plan B option and has yet to play there this season. Walker would give us a good bat off the bench, a welcome back fan favorite & a good clubhouse guy. Thoughts? :dunno:
  12. Buster Olney is hearing rumblings of the Sox maybe trying another "Nomar 2004" type of trade. Stay tuned
  13. nothing wrong with posting this for everyone to see
  14. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2006/07/27/they_will_be_frequent_fliers/ Im sure Youk of the Nation is happy with the Rox coming to Boston next year. Opening at the Metrodome, huh, a stadium the Sox dont have the best luck (TYPO). What a sweet opening day matchup we'll probably see.. Schilling vs Santana
  15. oh believe me she did, i had to sit down for awhile
  16. Take from this what you can April (13 appearances) 2-1, 3.71 ERA 17 innings, 11 Hits, 7 Runs, 1 HR, 2 Walks, 16 Ks May- June (16 appearances) 15 innings, 24 Hits, 13 Runs, 4 HRs, 2 Walks, 7 Ks
  17. ahh migraine :wtf: :what:
  18. as I said i was on my way out the door and heard that in the background, so I didnt know all the facts. I was just relaying what I thought I had heard. I stand corrected...
  19. ah damn it, I thought they stopped all together Tina Cervasio from interviewing the "star of the game" from the opposing team
  20. Thank god for Crisp at least saving the Sox from a shutout. He went 2 for 3, and is now another Sox player turning things around. Last week he was at .256, his avg stands at .271
  21. Mariners basically got the Guardians' planned platoon of Perez & Broussard EDIT: I clicked the post button twice by accident, sorry guys
  22. Mariners basically got the Guardians' planned platoon of Perez & Broussard
  23. Kyle Snyder's next start would be against Cleveland...
  24. the only thing remained was the same that he doesnt have the stamina/durability a starting pitcher needs. 2 starts (both vs Oakland) he allowed 11 runs in 10 innings. His other 2 starts (Nats, Mariners) he allowed 5 runs in 10 innings
  25. We just need to know who would be the 5th starter
