  1. Great stuff by the kid this inning, he could go 6 innings
  2. was that Gabbard's 1st major league K? I just got back from doing errands so I wasnt sure
  3. God, theyre now complaining about him strutting while watching a HR of his. Timing this, its going on 3 minutes straight
  4. Rockies scouts are attending the game, most likely to watch Rudy Seanez & Julian Tavarez. Both of which will probably pitch today
  5. Wily Mo Pena, by all accounts to Theo, he is the next right fielder for Boston. His bat is valuable off of the bench for this season with a line of .330, 4 HRs, 20 RBIs. I just dont see him being traded away
  6. weei As I was assuming, Theo held off on officially calling up Kason Gabbard because he was in what was "intense" talks on acquiring a starting pitcher. With Wakefield out for 3 weeks at best, and the uncertainty of what type of David Wells comes back.. something has to be done on that front Kyle Snyder has earned himself couple more starts. His first 3 stars in a Red Sox uni, has seen him go 2-1 with a 4.91 ERA. He'll get the A's next time out at McAfee Coliseum
  7. To be fair, Hansen hadnt worked since Monday. So at same time got to keep him fresh. The problem came when Hansen allowed 4 hits in his 2nd inning (thank god for double play) that made it a 4-run ballgame. Tito brought in Manny to hold the line, but yea Timlin shouldnt have come in with a 5-run lead There is no lefty out of the Pen. Craig Breslow was sent down for Kylse Snyder, and Javier Lopez was sent doen for Jermaine Vab Buren
  8. Shea & Barry in same clubhouse, huh? rotoworld
  9. 5 game winning streak 59-36, season high 23 games above .500 Sox stake a 3.5 game lead over NY, Toronto stands Pat at 5.5 Red Sox claim the 2nd best record in baseball behind Detroit with Chicago's loss Sox offense broke out of their doldrums clubbing 5 HRs (all off of lefty Jamie Moyer). They have now won 3 straight games against lefties Kyle Snyder proved to be a decent starter today, unfortunate with the calf strain. Final line was at 5 innings, 5 Hits, 2 Runs (0 ER), 2 Walks, 2 Ks. He has won 2 of his first 3 starts with Boston.
  10. 3 straight games facing a lefty starting pitcher, and Wily Mo Pena has started just 1 one of them. And that was as the DH. Thats helping him get the ABs he needs
  11. Tomorrow Youk will have the day off, which means Coco will lead off for the game. Hopfeully he can rid himself of another long batting slump in the same month (0-23, new one at 0-14)
  12. Craig Hansen 2nd inning struggles continue, this should be his last batter
  13. Didnt take long for Coco to get back into another hitting slump, he's now 0 for his last 12
  14. Tomorrow according to NESN --Mike Lowell is expected to return from his stomach virus --Youkilis will receive day off EDIT: --Mark Loretta will receive day off, Alex Cora at 2nd --Ortiz will play 2 straight games at 1st base --Manny or Wily Mo will be the DH
  15. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060720&content_id=1567061&vkey=news_la&fext=.jsp&c_id=la&partnered=rss_la Updated on Mueller's status, doctors havent found any means to correct Mueller's deteriorating knee http://content.clearchannel.com/Photos/sports_photos/MLB/RedSox/bill_mueller_DaveKaupAFP.jpghttp://www.espn.go.com/media/mlb/2004/0115/photo/g_mueller_i.jpghttp://www.hhweb.com/photos/ws2004/04ALCSgame4MuellerBill_small.jpg Sad news for a one of a kind player, dirt dog through and through. Thanks for the memories Billy
  16. Sorry guys I just keep finding laughable comments
  17. laughing my ass of at these ridculous posts by Mariners fans especially dave, calling Lester & Papelbon generic pitching prospects Suck on it "Dave"
  18. Player to watch: Nixon has had the longest # of ABs for a Red Sox starter since his last HR, which currently stands at 111. Entering today he has had great success against Seattle and is more than due to connect for at least 1 shot 46 games vs Seattle (.293 avg) (.371 obp) 10 Doubles, 2 Triples, 9 HRs, 25 RBIs, 2 SBs 26 games @ SAFECO Field (.354 avg) (.418 obp) 7 Doubles, 6 HRs, 19 RBIs, 2 SBs EDIT: ORS I didnt see your estimation on Kyle Snyder before I posted. Letting you know I wasnt trying to take anything away from your player to watch for in this game
  19. Im not exactly sure what their plan is for the 2008 season about the 1st/3rd base situations. Most likely Youk will be manning one of those positions Spann is right now having a breakout season so it could be a wait and see type deal. He's probably in line to get a late season call-up to Pawtucket
  20. Sucks to hear though about Dotel, yet another setback could shut him down for the season I had heard
  21. Gibbons shouldnt have been greedy and sent him on the first pitch/Franky also had a small lead off of 1st base
  22. Catalanotto gets his ass saved by Vernon Wells!!! And just like that the Sox have regained their 2 1/2 game lead
  23. He happens to be a free agent at the end of the season as well. Wouldnt mind seeing Theo snatching him away
  24. Its not like I give standing ovations to every former Red Sox player :dunno: . Like Matt Clement whenever he thankfully leaves the team, I'll still boo him
