    I think ORS is looking at his season overall, not just tonight. Expectations were set high for this young hard thrower. They were expecting 11 wins by All-Star break. But his ERA is at 4.89, major league high 27 HRs allowed and has a very good chance of breaking the record of 50

    Source? Where are you hearing that the Sox are deadset on him being the next 1st baseman? All I heard was that they were going to try him out there during his rehab, didnt go so well What I do know, is that Loretta currently holds the position as backup 1st baseman. So its not like they cant give Youkilis any days off

    He has been underperforming at 1st base in the Sox's eyes. Its not that he doesnt want to, he's just not giving management confidence that he'll even be average with the glove in that position

    Its been reported on NESN and weei that the Sox were met with Wily Mo Pena under-performing at 1st base. Terry Francona has now said we will see him platoon with Trot, and sometimes give days off for Coco, Manny and Ortiz

    2nd straight loss, both extra innings. The bullpen has had to work 18.1 innings, thank god for the All-Star break in between. Jon Lester will get the Royals next but the A's with among the lowest avg/obp lineup got Lester to barely last 5 innings. The offense needs to step up with some timely hitting while stranding 30 men over their last 2 games. Sox should just cut Willie Harris right now. lead over Yankees is trimmed to 2 1/2 games. Beckett vs Zito tomorrow, need a strong outing from Josh & maybe I dont know some timely hitting before it has to get into a 3rd straight extra inning game

    As it turned out, its been 6 innings. So far the bullpen has worked 18.1 innings in their last 2 games Beckett tomorrow has to go a solid 7 or more innings

    Tavarez kept throwing in the same location because he kept getting calls in his favor, left a rising change up in same spot. Kielty was right on it

    Lack of clutch hitting, 14 men LOB + coupled with Lester's 5 inning outing results in more work on our bullpen. As we know the bullpen had 12.1 innings the day before the all-star break
