  1. And then Kyle Boller has to go and remind us that he's Kyle Boller. Was there a Raven within 15 yards of that throw?
  2. Heh... pounding the ball with McGahee will make any coach look like a genius. Ravens up 7 with good field postion after a good punt return. Watching tonight it's hard to believe the Ravens are 4-7... they look real good tonight... they usually don't, though, is the problem.
  3. Boller, and the Ravens offense in general, is looking pretty good. Willis McGahee is real good... as I say this, he scores. McGahee is getting a few more yards out of each carry then it looks like he will.
  4. I'm with you, I'd take the great pitching prospect over the great hitting prospect. Hughes.
  5. That was a gift from Ed Reed. Yikes. By the way... the Dolphins are really going to do it, aren't they? 0-16 looks inevitable if the Jets blew them out.
  6. I looked on his wikipedia page but it made no mention of him being available... that means it can't possibly true.
  7. What a tackle by Winborn on Benjamin Watson to hold 'em about a yard from the first down. That was beautiful because he looked like his momentum carried him past him, so he just locked onto his legs.
  8. Good point. I absolutely love this from the Patriots... offense was getting shut down so they came out and are going no huddle this drive... and it's working. Great move by New England. Awful penalty. Stop 'em on third and get called for defensive holding. Ugh.
  9. Baltimore just might be able to pull this one out tonight. They give you a lot of looks defensively that no other teams do/can, so that may confuse Brady enough... but that offense of theirs is dreadful.
  10. I actually kind of agree with Gom. Hmm... fascinating.
  11. I'd hazard to guess that Kansas and Hawaii's opponents combined won about 35% of their games. And together, had only one win against a ranked team... Hawaii over Boise State. I like Hawaii, and have defended them a great deal but they've looked terrible on the road. Almost losing to a terrible Washington team last night, almost losing to Louisiana Tech, almost losing to San Jose State, and almost losing to Nevada. Those weren't just close games, those were games where Hawaii was in positions that it seemed certain their undefeated run would end. They deserve the BCS, but they don't deserve the National Championship game. Kansas deserves none of it. They got handled pretty easily by the only good team they've played all year. LSU was the right choice... with as cannibalistic as the SEC is, their two triple OT losses don't look so bad. Plus, they won their conference, which is more than most teams ahead of them can say. With as much of a clusterf*** as this is... in a weird way, I think the BCS worked this year. The regular season really was a playoff and it made for the most exciting regular season in the history of sports. It's not the greatest system... and I'd rather see a four team playoff -- no more than four... but the BCS is alright. By the way... what do you guys think about 3-loss Illinois sneaking in? Ron Zook getting in over Florida only because the SEC already has two teams BCS bowling. Pleasant suprise... I think USC showed ASU to be frauds.
  12. 6th best passing defense in the league is what LSU boasts. As well as the 14th or so best run defense. LSU's defense has gotten worse because they went from their non-conference schedule, in which they played against considerably weaker teams -- VT included. Where a team with two heisman caliber RB's can be relegated to mediocre within that conference. They play again... LSU wins by at least two touchdowns. You've made a good case but nothing you said is enough to overcome the fact that LSU beat them by 41.
  13. Holy s***... 12/12 for 190?
  14. Bills won, eh? Gibbs is really tarnishing his legacy... certainly, I think, among those who weren't old enough to remember his glory days in Washington. But he comes back and he's a below average coach... it's remarkable. The game hasn't changed that much.
  15. LSU is a "solid" #2 in the Coaches poll... and they're #2 in the AP poll too. Oklahoma comes in at #3, followed by Georgia, Virginia Tech, and USC in each. Looks like it's pretty much a done deal... LSU vs. Ohio State. LSU by two touchdowns.
  16. Their offense has improved? Their offense is dreadful. They're middle of the pack offensively in the ACC which puts them somewhere in the lower 6th of the country. I'd guess they're probably the 20th or so worst offense in the Nation based on Yards Per Game. 30th, at best. I just don't see how you can put a team in the National Championship over a team that beat them by 41 when all other things appear equal. And "appear equal" is about it... if I'm ranking the conferences first to worst, the SEC is first by a longshot with three or four others separating them from the ACC. Therefore, winning the SEC is more impressive. The problem with the BCS is that there is n margin of victory anymore. It doesn't take into account that LSU beat VT by 41... it doesn't take into account that LSU lost both games in Triple OT. So yeah, the computer rankings may come out where they may but a 1 point win is the same as a 50 point win... and that's a problem. In a system that rewards not losing, as you've mentioned, you're pushing one team ahead of another when, when they played head to head, that team lost. By the way, trash Arkansas and Kentucky all you want but they'd be more than capable of winning the ACC.
  17. Trust me, I hate people ragging on Hawaii but what's Hawaii's done on the road has been very unimpressive. Not who they played, but how they played them.
  18. Because Kansas didn't even play in their Conference Championship game and their strength of schedule is about 40-80... same with Hawaii, though that's not Hawaii's fault. And VaTech isn't basically a one-loss team... they're a two loss team that had a chance to try and avenge one of their losses. If LSU got another crack at Kentucky or Arkansas it'd be a different story. Besides, you can't honestly be looking to argue which had a tougher conference schedule between an ACC team and an SEC team. LSU's your safe choice. They won their conference and they beat VaTech very handily.
  19. LSU - 48 VT - 7 It's one thing to lose by a FG or even a Touchdown on the road... but then got outclassed in every aspect of the game. Early season or not... that game was as much proof as it gets that LSU is the vastly superior team.
  20. That would take some balls to move LSU up 5 spots, though... especially over two idle teams. Has to be done, though. You should have to win your Conference to play in the National Championship game. By the way... say what you want about the BCS but it just made for the best regular season in the history of sports.
  21. Have to go LSU or VaTech. And considering LSU beat VaTech by some 40 points... the choice is pretty easy.
  22. I don't believe that for a second. If we did I'll be very disappointed in our front office.
  23. Big game. Couldn't watch, unfortunately. Obviously the fact that there's a huge difference between January in Green Bay and January in Dallas makes homefield advantage in this instance a very big deal, and the Cowboys just about locked that up tonight. Packers will be fine in a possible rematch.
